good buy for computer literate
Comment:
This is a good value. Beware though that there is no CD with the unit. You have to find the download for the driver online. I am not computer illiterate, but it still took me awhile to find the correct driver for the product I had and to install it properly. Would be nice if there was a paper with the DIRECT LINK for the correct download, as I had to go through several before I found the correct one.

Only problem was that it did not come with the software to activate it. I finally got the activation sit from a Rep. Should tell folks about the activation process

Works Excellent using XP Zero Config
Comment:
Use only the USB ports directly on Motherboard. Use the USB extension cable supplied with adapter for a better signal. Install the NetGear software and drivers... go to System Hardware NetGearWPN111 and tell it to update drivers... it'll install those that it finds automatically on the hard drive. Don't use the NetGear software after initial install on XP.... Go to XP Zero Config for wireless. Set it up from there. This adapter is rock-solid at 54Mbps connection to my refurb Linksys WRT160n V2 router. Kids use YouTube, on-line chat and games simultaneously. No dropped connections or slow down. Took a while to find the trouble thru an old post on-line...

Product is worst then expected
Comment:
This WiFi Adapter keeps shutting off and I have to unplug and replug it in to get it to work. I am using it on a desktop maching so I have to get up and reset. I have tried online forums but no resolution has been found. I can see why this was sent back the first time. I bought refurb.

It seemed to work great, altho not where we really needed it. Had to move some equiptment around as the interference from the cordless phones seems to hinder it's performance

Beware buyer
Comment:
This item does not come with a driver disk. Windows vista will not recognize the device. Netgear's site only occasionally has drivers and they are not native drivers. They are patchy drivers not designed for 64 bit operating systems. Every time my computer boots I wonder if I'll have to unplug the device and reconfigure the network card. Perhaps this works on older systems. Be warned.

Accomidated for light users
Comment:
This USB Adapter works well but loses connections after 10-20 minutes of heavy loads. It works awesome when I use it for quick web browsing and downloading but disconnects every often here and there. It will automatically reconnect but it gets annoying though. I use my wireless for heavy downloading and web surfing so this adapter doesn't work well for my use. When i'm downloading big files (2-6) Gigs it'll run at a top speed of 1.6mbps but disconnect every 20-30 minutes compared to my built-in wireless which runs at a top 1.2mbps only. So after when it disconnects my Download I always have to resume all my Downloads. So if your a light user, which you do quick online access mostly, this is for you.

Great for the price
Comment:
You got what you paid for. Works great, there is one additional step tough : you have to download the driver from netgear's website. Some times device is showing low signal 5 meters from the access point but still works fine - i think is just representation glich. Overall i'm very satisfied with the purchase.

not bad
Comment:
Well this isn't the worst product in the world. It works pretty good, but it does loose connection every now and then. And then you have to reboot your system. It also gets very hot and maybe this is why the loss of connection occurs. But, still not bad for 10 bucks.

When it works, it works good
Comment:
It intermittently (10 minutes to a couple of hours) loses connection, and the only way to get it back is doing a safely removal of hardware, unplug and replug. Doing a reinstall of the OS has no change, and different version of drivers have no change either. And it seems this is a known issue as well. I would not recommend purchasing this adapter.

good deal
Comment:
Works well, but I had to download software on another computer because a disc didn't come with it. That might have been a bigger problem if I didn't have internet access somewhere else. Lastly,I don't believe it indicated that it was a refurbished item, but since it works, that is a non-issue now.

works well
Comment:
works well but the driver from netgear only allows 54mb, havent yet had it work on 108, other then that its a pretty decent little adapter, it does get hot so hang it off something to get some air flow and its fine. There are drops from time to time, not sure if its heat or just some other interference. still a decent little wireless card for the price

Great product and a great price. I went to the website it suggested for manual and drivers, installed them on my computer and started the adapter. It found my router instantly. No problems what so ever.
