This is a definite must have for anyone that does any type of repair on computers. To the person that repaired the zero zector virus, congratulations you fixed a hoax as no such malware exists.

I bought this because my Dish Network recorder needed replaced and I didn't want to loose all my recordings. I transfered everything to a hard drive then transfered it all back to the new recorder. Wasn't sure if it would do it but it did. Only thing it was very slow. Took many hours, but it could be the Dish Network DVR box is slow. I would highly recommend it to anyone. I even had a customers hard drive that wouldn't work in any computerso I thought everything he had on it was gone. I was able to pull all his photos and videos of it and put on a dvd disk for him.

I got the product quicker than expected, and it came with everything you need to power and connect to an external drive. It works really well for what it needs to do (I needed to backup info from a friend's old hard drive), but I would have liked to see some kind of light on it to show that the drive is powered and connected to. Other than that, it's a great buy.

After upgrading or repairing computers, I always end up with a lot of drives laying around. For the money this is the very best way to identify bad drives, take specific files from loose drives or just a great way to quickly use a drive without the annoyance of opening up the case.

got this to transfer files from an old laptop to my desktop. unfortunately the HD in question was cooked, but used it on another one just fine.

I purchased two of these products to utilize my old Hard drives & the data files stored on them. I can not access the Mass storage device on any of my PC's Two are XP premium, One is Vista home. The messages tell me that the devices & Drivers are installed properly & are recognized. The guide says to reformat my Hard Drives.But I do not want to lose the data that is on them. Will this adapter allow me to acess my existing data stored on my hard drives?? Thanks, joe Mitch

This works like a champ. I hooked it up to a laptop that had a dead DVD and used an old cd to install linux onto the computer. This thing is worth the money and I would recommend it to others. One qualifier, I haven't had it very long but if it only worked the one time it is worth the money!

The power cable was intermittently working. I finally changed it with one from an old monitor. When I connected the adapter to the USB port, my XP PC found the device and installed it, but it took a while to find where it was located. Had to change folder settings and others. With Win 7, there were no issues to deal with and it was very easy to use. The power cable is a hassle, but not bad enough to return or exchange it.
