Good Bang for the Buck
Comment:
I have been using it since late August and am satisfied with it. It has on occasion frozen up on me and a unplug and replug resolves the problem. I haven't seen this problem again and it has been over a month. Phone connection works fine. I find the speaker quality to be a bit on the weak side but I can live with it. I have used it on multiple trips and it has always gotten me to my destination. Text to speech is excellent. All in all I believe it is a good unit at a good price.

Good GPS
Comment:
The basic GPS functions are very good. The traffic alerts are not as good as expected. There are very limited areas where there is a traffic ''signal'' and it is not always accurate. For example, the GPS suggested that I divert on a route because of construction traffic. I ignored the suggestion and found that there wasn't any construction and there were no delays.

Ok
Comment:
I like the traffic feature but the speaker quality is poor even at 80% volume the speaker distorts and if the volume is any lower it'll be hard to hear. Sometimes text to speech takes a while to work after disconnecting a call via bluetooth. The volume also drops very low after using bluetooth feature. Not sure about the routing yet. Will update after further use.

Overall OK, but annoying at times
Comment:
Garmin could have done a much better job with this one. My device accidentally reset a few times while being turned on/off for no known to me reason, every time asking me for country, time zone, etc. When this happens, some info gets lost, like my bluetooth configuration, and has to be entered again. Some phone commands (over bluetooth)don't work at all, others are unpredictable. For example, the GPS shows me lately that I am in a phone call all the time and, of course, there is no way to end this "call". Often, after a phone call, it will become mute afterwords, and needs to be power cycled. Traffic info is only useful when you travel within a covered city or out of it. If you are entering one from an area without coverage, all it does is to tell you are screwed after you have already noticed (entering a city on a highway). Detours are not very smart (not the shortest/fastest ones), and the "latest" map info shows points of interest that have not been in existen

My Tom Tom is better
Comment:
I just got this GPS for my birthday so I gave my TomTom to my daughter. I like that it has text-to-speech and traffic updates but that is the biggest differences. It only give 1 mile audio alert about exits and turns. I just drove from Missouri to Ohio and when I got off the exit from I-70 it told me to make a hair-pin turn down a one-lane one way street to reach my hotel.

great except for...
Comment:
This product looked like a great deal. The Garmin navigation capabilities are great; free traffic was a big plus; preloaded POIs were nice, etc.... But, there was no thing that forced me to return the product: the lousy speaker quality. Not only was the speaker not loud enough, but the speaker sounded cheap and "tinny" regardless of the volume or voice settings. The unit isn't too useful for driving purposes without being able to comprehend its spoken directions. I later went over to the nearest Best Buy to check out other Garmin units; they all appear to have been installed with cheap speakers. That's too bad, because the display, user interface, etc. was top notch.

Ok when you need it
Comment:
It works good all in all. But don't follow it's directions when it says to turn left in 1000 feet or you might end up in someones living room. Doesn't always give you the best routes. But it does get you where you need to go. Needs to be plugged in to work well. Short battery charge.

Good product works as described.
Comment:
Works very well directing in cities, but in rural areas such as NW Minnesota doesn't have updated 911 maps and addresses. This product has many features which are very nice I would recommend this product. 3

Meets all our needs
Comment:
I bought this unit for my wife who is dealing with Post Concussion Syndromw and has a hard time remembering how to get to places she has gone to many times. This is the first unit we have bought and my research paid off. It really is the best value, based on the quality and features you get for the price. Only Disappointment, if you can call it that, is the Bluetooth works with my BlackBerry but not my wife's LG Voyager. Otherwise the unit works great.

Great GPS for the price
Comment:
We wanted a wider screen and took time playing with many different models. Finally decided on the 265wt. We've used it now for 2 trips and both times had no real issues. The live traffic didn't work well however I haven't had time to figure out why. We love the search function and have used it many times.

Garmin's are Awesome!
Comment:
This is my very first GPS purchase ever made and Garmin has made a very quality product! Worked without error on some new routes I took and takes you there by quickest route if that's what you want. It has free traffic but only works in the mentioned US cities on the Garmin website. Definately a good buy!

Nice GPS for the $$$
Comment:
I purchased this for my wife's BD at the beginning of July '09. She is not a tech-toy person so KISS is a must. She LOVES this GPS. I did the inital setup, which was not hard. Her favorite feature is the real time FM traffic, which is available in the city we live in. It's easy to create and load POI DB files. The maps have been good. The screen is nice. The windshield mounting bracket is excellent. We have not had a reason to try the Bluetooth function yet. I would buy this unit again or maybe even investigate a Garmin with voice recognition. I'm pleased with the purchase.

Quality Product & Good Value
Comment:
I purchased one of these units for my wife after I received one for Xmas last year. It lasts a long time on the battery and you can plug it into your computer to charge it as well. When in doubt, just use the cigarette lighter power cord in your vehicle. A lot of nice features, but not over-board in features. You won't be disappointed with your purchase.

Nice Garmin
Comment:
Was easy to use right out of the box. Features are easily found by either navigating the menus or reference of the quick start guide. It is easy to select a different route or a via point on route. Nicer than some other GPS's I have used.

GARMIN nüvi 265WT 4.3" GPS with FM Live traffic
Cons:Small screen.

Pros:User-friendly, fast to calculate the route, bluetooth, traffic detection.
Comment:
This really is a great GPS device. It's expensive for the small screen sizes but really stable. I have had a Tom-Tom and I needed to reboot it many times. You can rely on Garmin. This GPS was really useful because I needed to go to United Kingdom and wanted a device that could handle new maps. The purchase of a SD card loaded with Europe maps at Garmin was a no-hassle process.

Excellent right out of the box
Comment:
The Garmin unit has performed great right out of the box. It locks into the satellite signal quickly and is accurate on location. (My previous GPS, a HP 5900, would take 2 to 3 minutes for the initial signal lock.) The Garmin is quick to re-route when I miss a turn. The maps which were loaded on the unit are detailed and include recent road changes. I highly recommend the Garmin units.

Easy to Learn
Comment:
I took Garmin 265wt out of box one night and left on 4000 mile trip the next day using the unit. It is easy to learn the basics. Worked especially well in cities and along Interstates or major highways. When we took it on SC back roads it correctly displayed our location, but, took a while to calculate new route when we went off suggested route. All in all I consider the Garmin a good investment.

Garmin knows their stuff
Comment:
I really like this little devil. It relieves a lot of stress when traveling and it causes me to check out alot of places I might never see otherwise. My wife is not a ''Techie'' and she has no trouble using it. Sure, it's got a few gliches but I'd buy it again in a minute. One gliche is that it wants to take me about a 1/2 mile past my home when I hit ''Go Home''. That's not a big problem since I know where I am when I get that close. ;-) Buy it, you want regret it!
