Syncs nicely with my Samsung Fascinate like contact list and contact log. Navigation is just OK not fantastic. Will take back roads and two lane roads rather of more rapidly freeways. It will at some point get you there but not the very best route most of the time. If you get on the freeway it will take an exit way prior to your destination and do the 2 lane roads for miles.

I got this as a present for my father for Xmas and he is no tech particular person. Yet he was capable to get appropriate into it and figure out the UI fairly rapidly. The screen is a nice size and the automated voice is really clear. It is also nice that they repeat directions and don't say "turn right in X miles" after. They retain you updated so you don't look at it as significantly and retain your eyes on the road. Also my father is deaf in his right ear but he can hear the voice really effectively. In brief:-Superior Size screen-Good sounding voice (human like)-Loud-UI is wonderful for even the least tech savvy people Absolutely nothing you can't stay away from, signal gets lost below tunnels but is rapidly reacquired once out. These are seriously just methods they should improve these, as I have noticed lots of these come to market place but they will need to take a huge leap.-The UI really should be updated to anything far more stream lined- The touch screen doesn't really feel as great as, say, an iPhone, but it gets the job performed- This screen is deemed on the bigger end, they need to make this size the minimum typical.

• Simple to use• Maps are excellent• Lots of Points of Interests• Display high quality is excellent• Interfaces with Google Maps • Customizable (I D/L'd an icon of an SUV that looks like my Mitsubishi) • I have been sent to one "dead finish" so far• Telephone top quality (bluetooth) is not the greatest• Extended delays when searching up POI by name I advise hooking it up via USB, and uploading POI via Goolge Maps (you tube has good instructions)... this cuts down on the time it takes the unit to locate a POI from spelling it.

1st time GPS buyer. Appears to be a nice small unit. Great bright screen. I have a noisy car or truck and I can hear the audio just fine. Has a slot to add a chip for Europe. Great POI list. Easy to update. Purchased it in early June, 2009. It's now late August, 2009 and the unit is dead. Will not energy on. Tried calling Garmin Assistance. At least a 30 min hold time. Sent e-mail to support. At least 3 small business day wait for reply. Immediately after searching at other units from other brands, I wish this a single had highway lane help. Also, does not differentiate amongst primary road and frontage road parallel to the major road so it keeps recalculating since it thinks you are on the main road.

I was going traveling on Kauai and wanted some thing to aid out if I wanted to go someplace I hadn't been to but. This worked as expected and it helped uncover a couple of areas I hadn't observed yet. On the other hand, it is humorous to listen to it try to pronounce Hawaiian road names. None. If it functions in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, it has got to work anywhere.

Extremely accurate and reliable most of the time. Large screen. Navteq website traffic is only useful in the cities. I had to upgrade to ClearChannel targeted traffic to navigate suburbs (extra ์). But even ClearChannel doesn't report delays e.g. in Lancaster, PA. I also bought lifetime map upgrade (another ๪) to locate that the new maps don't reflect any modifications I know of. The upgrade utility is dumb, it won't let me know if the voice files require upgrading. The voices are too harsh, specifically at volume over ໄ. Volume can\'t be adjusted simply. Once the unit lost all my addresses and settings for no reason. Upgrading the computer software corrupted some of the addresses, they had been truncated or got Chinese letters at the end. It's impossible to erase 1 distinct address from the history. Targeted traffic map can not be utilised if no website traffic info is obtainable. Arrival time is as well optimistic, I have to drive more than the limit to realize it. Highways with targeted traffic lights (e.g. Rte 1 in Philly) are favored far more that they ought to. POI search by name is way also slow. The device had "bad days" when the accuracy is so poor that it thinks I drive on neighborhood roads when I'm on a highway. At times the voice starts sounding funny, so I have to power cycle it. Speed limits are shown, but there are no warnings if driving also rapidly. Some route are mispronounced. E.g. CT-15 (a route in Connecticut) is named "court fifteen", and "buses" (as in NJ turnpike roadway for automobiles, trucks and buses) rhymes with "uses". At times changes in the visitors information don't trigger recalculation, to the unit would still suggest to take a no longer needed detour. That mentioned, the unit is really addictive and really valuable when 1 gets used to it.

Does a great job finding around. New York, Boston, Connecticut, New Jersey, Georgia all without having a hitch. Bluetooth works Updating the map is treacherously SLOW. In this economy...some attractions might have shut down with no notifying the Garmin map folks. My Windows Mobile Telephone doesn't play good with the Garmin. If I pick yes to let it access the telephone book it will lock up so I have to recall the numbers I need to have to dial. Otherwise bluetooth functions great!Beware of tall developing clusters! I haven't noticed a GPS (Tom-Tom, Magellan, Alpine) that doesn't shed it's connection in Midtown Manhattan but!

It performs most of the time and has several extra functions. Updating the map database is quite time consuming. Map has fairly a few blunders in Houston location. From time to time navigation becomes incredibly confusing. FM website traffic is basically useless. Contemplate a different GPS rather of this 1.

265WT worked wonderful for a whilst. Visitors functions excellent after you update firmware. ETA, voice prompts, are very good features. NewEgg partially priced matched to A----n. Became intermittantly operational following a couple of lengthy trips - operating only sporadically. Would not turn on employing switch or auto commence up. The points of interest do have errors in the information base. E.g. the Dairy Queen was supposed to be at 1022 S McLean and Garmin took us to 1022 N McLean. RMA'd to Newegg Traffic FM will calc a reroute soon after a specific quantity of delay occurs on the intended route - a very handy feature.

Simple to use, lots of places currently in its memory. Lifetime free of charge visitors has worked nicely for me, at least in Metro Houston. Bluetooth for the telephone functions excellent, while I wasn't expecting substantially due to some undesirable critiques. Nice screen colors and contrast, dims for night use automatically. Knows MOST of the newer streets in my region. I believed the suction cup mount was also far away to be handy, could be the size of my van! Wish it would recall the route taken instead of the advised route, the new road cuts off five miles. I got a single of those beanbag mounts, and couldn't be a lot more pleased. Funny how going 1 way its spoken (hobbys)/spelled Hobbes Rd and coming back its Hobbs Rd. (correct). excellent for a chuckle. Also like the Aus. accent voice. If it keeps working like it is on my tests, I will be satisfied.

Incredibly thin and bright. Boots up considerably more quickly than the older ones. The speaker is on the back so if you are on the highway with the windows open, you may not hear the directions. I updated the maps before I left and I nonetheless located things not on the maps. Gramin and Newegg are excellent as usual!

Fantastic value, good GPS unit. A lot more quickly at intitial synch-up with satellites than my old nuvi360. Screen refresh appears about the similar; so does recalculating soon after missed turns. Visitors doesn't appear all that valuable. I've noticed traffic delays and/or accident warnings a number of instances that didn't actually materialize on the road. Ads are a Small bit far more intrusive than some reviewers claim, but still actually aren't all that bad.Only 60 days of no cost map updates? Come on Garmin... This IS the 265wt. There is NO distinction among the 265w and 265wt except for the site visitors receiver - which is in the power cord - that's what tends to make a 藙w" a 藙wt". All you peeps who RMA'd your unit definitely didn't even plug it in to see if you had traffic...

I just used my Garmin 265WT for the 1st time on a trip from Boston to New York and Pennsylvania l I found the 265WT extremely simple to use and the traffic function to be most useful. As opposed to my old Garmin (c330) the map on the 265WT was easily readable in sunlight. Also identified that the text to speech feature was really beneficial. My expertise with Newegg.com was terriffic. Ahead of I received my unit, they decreased the on the web value by ŭ.00. I gave them a contact and they promptly adjusted the cost and issued me a ŭ.00 credit. In a single instance, the highlighted road was parallel to the road I was traveling on. A good deal and a great unit for a GPS unit with so several functions.

Just the appropriate size. I was afraid it would be quite massive.Newegg adjusted the price tag for me as it went on sale following I purchased it. Of course, their customer service is bar none. It doesn't do my laundry, oh wait...my girlfriend does. Though I haven't utilised the device yet, I'm positive it does exactly what it is suppose to do. Provides you directions, speaks them, and the most critical solution for my girlfriend, avoids freeways.

low-costwide screenbluetooth hands-cost-freemaps fairly accurateNewegg had a wonderful price, and outstanding delivery. site visitors rarely ever works, Navteq targeted traffic reporting is abysmalrouting time is optimistic, it doesn't appear to take traffic lights into account at all.If volume is set high adequate to hear bluetooth phone conversations, then it is also loud for navigation. Must be two various settingsNo way to produce a route on desktop and download it to the Nuvi. It seems that only the substantially additional high-priced units help that stuff. I contacted both Garmin and Navteq about the poor site visitors reporting. Garmin uses Navteq, and checked whilst I was stuck in a traffic jam close to New York City on a important road (I80). Navteq's web page also had no information about the jam, so the dilemma is not the Nuvi, but the Navteq reporting.

Had Garmin GPS in the past and genuinely like Navteq maps (company is based in North America).Saw a value drop in the value and needed to replace my old Garmin GPS StreetFinder model.Even though I've employed it sparingly, it functions well. Will have to test out the unit additional once Spring/Summer arrives and I start out traveling! You get 1 new map update within 30 days of bought AND registration at Garmin's web page. Be forewarned as the map update is Enormous as it took pretty much 30 minutes to download then install (considering I have Verizon fiber optics)!!The graphics and maps will require time to get accustomed to!Every person need to READ the manual, at least to understand the Fundamental capabilities! It'll take me awhile to get employed to the newer attributes considering that it has clearly altered from the older GPS and map attributes! Map updates are costly so Get the Garmin Lifetime card which price less at on the web auction sites or on the net stores (Less than 赨) rather of acquiring directly from Garmin (more than 赨)!! You will get 1 map per quarter Ɠ months) for the life of the GPS =):Recall that the file updates could be enormous depending on the update so it'll take time to download and install! You could want to buy the console bean bag given that several states outlaw getting the window suction cup for the GPS!It takes awhile to learn how to use the Full capabilities of the GPS so READ the manual! Do NOT complain if you do NOT read the manual!NO bag is included to store the GPS or cables! You will spend More dollars for a variety of items like map updates, bag and bean bag! Navteq maps are fantastic due to the fact it's based in North America and appears to release North American maps quicker and initial than Tele Atlas, which is a lot more prevalent on other GPS companies like Tom Tom, and is based in Europe and appears that Tele Atlas also releases European map updates initial just before North American map updates! From my encounter on utilizing each map systems, Navteq maps are less complicated to use and the graphics are superior searching ( but obviously it will depend on each user's encounter)!GPS owners must update their maps at least Once Each YEAR, in particular due to construction perform in a lot of states like New England or any other important city in the USA, which will modify the geographic road places particularly smaller/regional roadways.Buy any other accessories at online web-sites or other stores, other than Garmin, considering that it cost much less!

four.3" screen, spoken street names, free FM visitors, lane assist, displays speed limits on existing road.Targeted traffic is pretty decent in Los Angeles region. It also worked quite well in New Orleans, exactly where I went on vacation this year. Dallas was not so good, but I assume that's a function of the top quality of the FM site visitors Dallas is providing. Be careful making use of this outside the auto. Garmin advertises that you can use this on the internal battery alone. That's true, but if you ever get close to draining the battery, the unit will cease to work in the automobile till the battery is "sufficiently" charged. Also, the database for roads in the New Orleans region has many errors. In one particular case, a road was misnamed and in yet another the road that we had been supposed to use, the Garmin thought was about 200 feet additional west than it truly was. This led to continuous requests to turn to the left to get to that road. (which we had been currently on.) Extremely annoying.GPS positon accuracy was superior in my Garmin i3 Streetpilot.POI database feels 2 or 3 years old. Several instances you choose a grocery store location for example, and the shop has "moved" up the street. Luckily, in a lot of circumstances, you can nonetheless come across the shop or resturant even even though the nuvi thinks it is in a slightly various place. Worth it if you are seeking for Traffic info and don't want to spend a monthly fee. Otherwise, a decided step backwards from my Streetpilot.
