I bought one of these for my father in law because he is starting to get wireless enabled devices like the certain phones and game consoles. Desktop PCs are still using wired connections. Initial setup was simple and straight forward as most entry level products from this vendor are. Security setup was simple (WPA personal) and took a total of 3 minutes. Wireless routers tend to require a reboot every once in a while depending on how heavily they are used. We will see how this one performs but so far so good. For online gaming I would recommend a higher level router with some form of QoS so that when dad is streaming movies in one room and junior is playing Unreal Tournament online junior doesn't get fragged due to lag. Bottom line - for casual users this is a great deal - for heavy online gamers, home office and VoIP use you should spend the extra money on something with at least an entry level QoS engine.

connects, but then loses speed after 2-3 pages open, then it disconnects from ISP modem (cable). ended up going back to a wireless-g router for now. not happy with this unit at all!

Very nice Router I must say! Looks like a space ship and install was so easy. Step by step instructions, It took only about 5 mins to get my router up and running and the other 3 computers it took a totle of about 25 mins or so and all was connected and running like a champ so if your looking for a fast router and easy instal this is it! and you can't beat this price. So if you want easy this is it, and if you want speed this is it :) Another happy customer thanks tigerdirect.

I bought one of these for myself and one for my sister. I get a good, strong signal and they work great. I have used B and G cards in laptops. Haven't tried an N card yet, but really have no need for that yet.

Put it in my 83 year old mother's house to use with her first time computer (laptop). Windows7 OS picked it right up. So far so good.

I purchased this refurbished .. aside from the fact that there were NO instructions, I did get it hooked up easily and am pleased with the product .. would recommend to anyone. My work recommends this unit for home use also.

It does its job.. it arrived on time and in good condition. except when purchasing this product no where does it says its refurbished item with a 90day warranty. I found that strange because refurbished computers are clearly labeled on the site, except this one. Called customer service and was on hold for over 15minutes and i just hanged up and kept the item.

EXTREMELY FAST SHIPPING - AS ALWAYS WITH TIGERDIRECT. Product is fantastic. Used the install CD and followed this on-screen instructions. Worked the first time, right out of the box. No advanced knowledge needed. Using on OS X Leopard, and broadcasting to PC in other room. Wireless strength is 100%.

This is a solid router for the money and has the capability to run 3rd party firmware that is very powerful WRT160N V3 Only!. The router I received looked and performed as new and was very easy to set-up. Running for 2 weeks now without a hiccup. Great Deal Tiger!

thought I was getting a great deal. you get what you pay for. spend two hours on the phone with them to end up with a product that still didn't work. sent it back packing and a trip to the post office. waste of time.

Works most of the time. It is of course recertified, so can't expect too much. I have a problem with the router knocking one device off when another connects, ended up having to manually set all the ip addresses but has been fine since.

But if you are using Linux, there is no manual to give you the info that you need to setup this router.

First off, had a little problem with the shipping department, shipping got mixed up between the shipping warehouse and UPS, short story, ordered on the 23rd still hadn't received by the 28th. Customer service was quick to resolve and upgraded shipment to 2 day air, but I received the product the next day!!!! I received the router, plugged everything in, reset everything, and my wired desktop connected right away, both wireless laptops connected right away, PS3 connected wireless, and wired right away. (tried both ways just to see how easy it would connect)Connection wizard on the provided disc was easy to use. Great Product, very user friendly, router sits on the base of my 42' LG HDTV, can't even tell its there except for the blue lights. Wish I would have went with Linksys from the beginning instead of being frustrated with all the others. Great product, great price, 29.99, who cares if its re-certified.

Had a few setup problems but I am not experienced at setting up wireless. Everything seems to be working now. Stable and good reception. Had a d-link that I never could get working so this seems alot better. Think this a good router for the price.

was not happy with the fact that this product was not accepted as a return item, it wasn't clearly noted that this was a refurbished item until i received the item, later after I tried using the item did not work at all, was advised could only exchange for the same type item...

I'm fairly experienced setting up networks and I was disappointed when this didn't just work out of the box. It had firmware from May 2009 on it, so I loaded the latest update from Dec 2009. They recommend resetting to factory defaults as part of the upgrade, so I did that too. It's possible (even likely) that the reset was all I needed to do, but in any case after going through all that it's worked fine ever since. My laptop would get '2 bars' of signal strength with my old G router, now I consistently get '5 bars' and a steady connection. So far so good.

I purchased this item to replace a 6 year old router. Being a re-certified product, I though I would be receiving a router showing some signs of wear; however, the router looks (and even smells) brand new! Installation was super easy with the included setup CD. I was up and running my new network in about 5 minutes. We have 5 laptops, 2 cell phones, and a wireless printer connected to the network. Each cell and laptop detected the new network and, after entering the password, each connected with no problems. For the wireless printer, I just pushed the Setup Protected button on the router and the sync button on the printer, and that was it! And for the 29.00 I paid, you can't beat that! Needless to say, I am very satisfied with this router as well as with the prompt shipping service. I highly recommend this router to anyone.

Purchased this product because I wanted to move to 802.11n. Have used many Linksys products over the years and had confidence in their stability and robustness. This product seemed to have problems maintaining a WAN connection for more than 6 hours. Also had problems getting any RDP sessions connected from outside. When swapping back to the WRT54G RDP and WAN connections were stable. Ended up loading 3rd party firmware and making into a wireless client bridge for my Blu-Ray player. Not a bad price for a wireless bridge, but I was disappointed with the WRT160N as a router.

I would not buy this product again. While this product works well when set up, it has to be manually set up requiring some knowledge of your network. The software the is no longer supported by linksys and they will not help with any problems occuring from it use. The software can not find some of the necessary modules to run and keeps posting a error window.

Used install CD and it was up and running in minutes. Who would know it was refurbished! Looks and runs like a new router. It automatically downloaded the V3 firmware and has worked great since it was plugged in for the first time. Connected to Win 7 Pro 64 bit AMD phenom system.
