Good refurb
Comment:
Easy product to use. Came with install CD that instructed to run CD before hooking up the router. CD setup turned off my ethernet repeatedly and then complained that I didn't have an ethernet adapter. Went on line and followed their instructions and just hooked the unit up to my DSL line, and it works fine.

Router Resets Itself and Allows Any and ALL Traffi
Comment:
This unit powered on, allowed wired traffic through the router portion, wireless worked well. I set it up with the mid-grade protection because my devices are older and won't do WPA. I went to bed. Next day a screen pops up showing all connected computers. My NEIGHBOR was connected. I checked the settings. It was set with No Protection. I quickly changed it to have protection and shook off my neighbor's computer. It worked fine that day. When I woke up the next morning, it had reset itself again and was giving free internet to everyone in the neighborhood. Must have been why it was returned by the initial purchaser. YMMV

GOOD LUCK
Comment:
Re-certified means RE-furbished After two days working with LinkSYS to get this to work we determined this refurbished model was defective. Worked hardwired and could see the network wireless but would not connect.Had to upgrade the firmware as well and still a problem. I was just upgrading from G to N so there should not have been any problem. Documentation very poor if you are not somewhat familiar router setups. This one is going back ...l they eft the word Refurbished out of their online ad. If you are going with this model or any other router thinks twice on a REFURBISHED

Great router for the price!
Comment:
This router had all of the features that I was looking for at a price I felt was as good as you find. I was especially looking for a Linksys router as they seemed to have the best reviews. Documentation definitely needs to be improved. It leaves you guessing in too many instances.

Works Great! Refurb is Version 3
Comment:
After reading about the problems people were having with V2 of this router, I thought I might be in for trouble, but this refurb'd unit was upgraded to V3 and has worked perfectly. This is one case where the refurb is superior to and less expensive than a factory new unit.

Comment:
This item worked great right out of the box . . I was a bit hesitant to purchase recertified items but the price was great. It seemsthis company does care about quality and their customers getting what they want because the item looked brandnew and performed great with out no problems. Thanks, Dave

Took a while.... but now it works great
Comment:
Great router, great speed, great features, great value ! Easy setup and great security and menus. I'm pretty sure the wireless adapters people are using are what cause the people posting here all the problems, the Linksys WRT160n router runs flawlessly. One thing I've learned is that frequently wireless adapters require to be directly plugged to the rear Motherboard USB ports...NOT THE FRONT USB PORTS.. although you won't find that in the manufacturers instructions or support.

This Is A GREAT Router !
Comment:
Anywhere else this may cost 3 times as much. I paid more than that when I bought mine, $129.00. If you Change the DEFAULT PASSWORD on the router itself you will not experience the dropped connection problem as was explained by another reviewer. These routers have a default password and if not changed, anyone can get in there and mess up your settings. I have changed the default password over a year ago and Have Not Had A Single Problem Since! I am on the computer nearly 16 hours a day or more. For the price, Which I was Shocked when I seen it, This Is Most Definitely The Router For YOU ! plus they offer pretty good tech support with very little wait times if any at all.

BEWARE of V2
Comment:
If this is version 2 beware. The router says right on it which version it is. A lesser memory chip was used on V2 and it has many known problems. Lynksys has released a firmware which kind of fixes the problems, but you may still experience dropped connections. I have had one for about six months (have downloaded the firmware upgrade)and I am constantly resetting it because of dropped connections with both the wired and wireless ports. If you get a good price on this, it still may not be worth the hassle. Retailers are trying to liquidate the V2. This was my first Cisco product and will probably be the last because of my experience with this router.

Great Performance at a Good Price!
Comment:
I bought this about 2 weeks ago. I have 1 desktop (hard wired), a a wireless desktop, a laptop, and a printer hooked up to this. It works great. I haven't had any issues with it dropping a signal at all. (I know some reviews have said they do, but I haven't). I did have a huge problem with setting up the network though. I wired this to myethernet powerline cable and initially it wouldn't work. I had to call Linksys and they remotely set it up for me.(at a cost of $9.95). but everything works perfectly now throughout my house.

Very good product. Used it as a router for a few weeks--very strong signal. Then I bought a second and installed a 3rd party firmware (DD-WRT) and turned it into a bridge I use for XBox Live now--very happy with the results on both ends of things.

Powerful Signal
Comment:
I am very happy with this product especially when I see a local office store sell a brand new one on sale for $50s more than I paid from Tiger. This was very easy to install. I just ran a wire to my downstairs computer. Then it sent a signal through the air to another computer located upstairs in my home. This Dell computer had a Hawkeye wireless USB unit attached to it. Once they both had the same keys they were very compatible. My son-in-law from Ohio came to visit and said tell me your keys so I can make my lap top work on the Internet. Bingo, he was up and running too. I am so impressed with the powerful signal. It is showing about a 74% according to my upstairs computer.

pretty good product
Comment:
I got it because of the price tag, wanted to try N router. It's pretty good, signal is strong. Had some issues opening a port, but after an hour solved it. Basically, product worth getting and for this price!!! My MacBook is getting twice the speed i was getting on G router. Had problems with wireless security at first, laptop could not connect, but then reset to no security and did the WPA and everything worked just fine. It's worth the money you pay for it.

Great Value
Comment:
I bought this to upgrade from an old b-only Netgear. Wanted to upgrade throughput and security. This unit has improved throughput dramatically. After the intitial installation, I did notice that I was dropping connections. I went to the Linksys website and checked for firmware updates. Upgraded to the latest firmware and my laptops, Iphone, and Nokia phones are solidly connected.

Almost tripled my wireless speed
Comment:
I am not sure what people are complaining about. I just purchased this router, my second linksys router, with a sabrent N usb adapter and this thing screams. With the pci internal wireless adapter and a g router I was at about 2mbps; with the new usb adapter from sabrent it went up to 4mbps; upon changing to the new linksys n router with the new usb wireless adapter, this thing now sits about 10mbps. Speed test verified each result and I now have a screaming connection. The router is about 25-30 feet from my computer. This router is wonderful so far. A recommended buy for the money and what you get.

Bad experince with Linksys all around
Comment:
Well once again I have tried a Linksys product, and once again I have been severely disappointed. I have tried Linksys product 5 times in the last two years and have yet to have anything but a bad experience. This router was no exception. I have a home network and have used 4 other routers in the last 9 years, so I some in home experience to compare this with. This my first N class router and it is the worst I have ever used. To test it I invited some friends to play Halo over my LAN. All 3 of them had poor reception (even 10 feet away) and constant disconnects. After 30 minutes I switched back to my Netgear DG834G router and had no more problems. Beware!
