184 dlls vs 1000 dlls
Comment:
This is a powerful CPU and the price is ridiculously cheap against $ 1,000 for a processor that has nearly the same performance (not to mention that you can overclock it to 4GHz) --------------------------------------------------

bragging right for 184 bucks????
Comment:
I upgrade my 910 to the 965. I seriously cannot tell that much of a difference. However, when I look at benchmarks, it tell a much different story. In real application it may not be a neccessary upgrade. My processor score went from a 7.2 to a 7.4. If you have a Phenom and will not overclock, save your money.

Great CPU at a good price
Comment:
This CPU gives me a Win 7 score of 7.4 for the processor, and that's without overclocking. It's fast right out of the box, and would be even faster if I wanted to push it, and it has reduced time needed to transcode video files vob to m4v radically, hitting frame rates in the 60 to 90 per second frequently, depending on the settings - this is still a good quality conversion. For games, this processor is a champ, right up there with the competition. It may not have quite the overclocking overhead that the 955 does - not sure, but should still be quite easy to overclock. Its intel equivalents - not the P4 - may still edge this chip out in certain applications, but gamers should not notice any real difference. This CPU is better value for money.

Best for the price!
Comment:
Absolutly fast!! Cost effective solution. I could have gone I7, but what for, another $1,000 bucks! Overclocks easily to 3.8 with very little tweaking.

Wow
Comment:
I bought this, 2 gig of 1333, a new TA790GXB3 board and a new power supply. (All for under 400 dollars and all here) Haven't even tried overclocking and it takes every thing and game I have throw at it. The only thing I the status monitors show have even come close to stressing the 4 logical processors is the manufactures tool meant to do just that. Do a compare at the their site this is the latest and greatest. If that other processor company can get this bang for the buck they simply haven't.

I dont have one but...
Comment:
whoever said this thing runs like a P4 needs to go to tech school, nooooooooooob! if I ever got a quad core i would get this, its cheaper and just as good as the higher end Intel quad cores. (not core i7)

Excellent CPU
Comment:
I'm not normally a review writer, but I had to put this up here to counteract the Intel fanboy below. I've always been an Intel fan and have not owned an AMD processer until I purchased the 965 BE a month ago to go into a rig I was building. I did a lot of research and considering my budget, this processor provided the most bang for the buck. To compare this processor to a Pentium 4 just proves that the review by MEDIAPROMIKE is simply bogus posturing, as if the use of all caps wasn't a dead giveaway.

Know your stuff
Comment:
For MEDIAPROMIKE: If you honestly think anyone will believe this CPU ran like a P4 and NOT logically think you are unable to put together a proper build, you are dumber than you sound. I have done the research and while it is true that Intel does make a great CPU, when building on a budget and still want high end performance, this Phenom II will exceed most people's expectations.

AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition 3.4GHz Socket AM3 125W Quad-Core Processor
Cons:Stock fan is LOUD without config

Pros:Performance on par with i5 750Comes with heatsink fan comboCheap
Comment:
To bring the fan volume down, you'll want to adjust the target temperature and minimum fan settings in BIOS. Make sure you have a well ventilated case if you do however. For everything else, it is a fast processor.

Very good CPU
Comment:
To the guy bellow me, grow a pair and stfu fanboy. This is for REVIEWS, not statements. I don't own this exact CPU but I own the 955 and it really does wonders. Very cheap, yet very powerful. I have mine overclocked to 4ghz, but I did have to up the Vcore to 1.5v. No big deal though because even at load with prime95 it gets to about 65c which is perfectly fine. Overall this is an excellent product and would recommend it to anyone.

Very Fast
Comment:
Well I installed this bad boy and it went great. This is the fastest cpu I ever had. The only con I would have to say is the fan that comes with it is VERY noisey. I ordered an H50 by Corsair and that should take care of the noise problem.

What can I say besides wow!!! I upgraded to this bad boy from dual core, and the differences punch you in the face with a postage meter. I mean, holy dear sweet baby geezus this thing is fast. And stable. If you're into gaming, video editing, or into extreme multi tasking, I HIGHLY recommend upgrading your cooling from the stock fan & heat-sink that is provided. The H50 works wonders with it.

Best CPU Ever
Comment:
This cpu is just plain amazing. Ive built many computers for family, friends and i recently just build one for myself using this CPU and i havent been able to slow it down even the slightest. I used stock fan with a different thermal gell then provided and my cpu idles at a constant 30 C, no need to upgrade the fan really.
