Pros: Overclocks very well.Powerful cpu.
Comment:
Great overclocking cpu.I'm running mine at 4013.5 Mhz. at 1.4VIt will run higher but I backed it off to 4Ghz and my temps are in the low 30's at idle and low to mid 50's playing pc games or benchmarking with a Vendetta 2 cpu cooler.

Cons: None yet.

Pros: Good value.

I actually got a defective one of these that wouldn't run in dual channel mode (wouldn't even boot if any ram was in slots 3 and/or 4). After trying many motherboards and ram strips... got a nice RMA from NCIX and finally got it working. Have tried only a little bit of overclocking but it is responding well. Great value for a fast quad core.

AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition 3.4GHz Socket AM3 125W Quad-Core Processor
Cons: -none

Pros: -overclocking-stock peppiness
Comment:
I haven't had a single issue with this CPU or the stock cooler. Like other reviews have mentioned, it overclocks well with the stock cooler and even better with a third party cooler. Most users don't need the power that this offers (and consumes!) and would be better off going with a lower-end Athlon series chip.

AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition 3.4GHz Socket AM3 125W Quad-Core Processor
Cons: Included HSF is LOUD when CPU ramps up to 100%

Pros: Great value for the performance
Comment:
I'm not an overclocker and I've never used anything but stock heatsink/fans. For the price I'm loving the performance increase in x264 transcoding vs. my older dual-core X2. In regular usage I can't really hear the fan, but when I'm encoding or doing some other CPU-intensive task and Cool n Quiet decides to be more Cool and less Quiet, it gets pretty annoying.

Comment:
What is there to say about a CPU? It crunches numbers. Exactly what this one does.Performance is not an extraordinary boost from a Q6700. But it does the job.Watch out for pricematch. NCIX has a tendency to slack of on price competitiveness lately.

Purchased this CPU for a friends upper-mid-range gaming computer. It's great for gaming, no need for Intel at this point. I installed an XFX 5870 and Crysis runs fluently maxed out. I didn't bother overclocking - there's no need. Great CPU at a great price (bought for $170).

Great AMD processor. Processor is currently at a stable overclock of 3.8 GHz (from a factory 3.4 GHz). Cooling is provided by Noctua NH-C12P SE14 (which is another great product). AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition 3.4GHz Socket AM3 125W Quad-Core Processor
Cons: won't go passed 4.0ghz, I thought I made it to 4.2ghz, it was fine for a couple hours playing games but then I ran prime95 and the cpu usage went to 100% for two minutes and it shut down. damn. 4.0ghz stable for two months though :)

Pros: fast, reliable, overclockable, touchable, huggable, sensitive to my needs, hahahaha
Comment:
I bought this back in April, I waited and waited and waited and man did I ever wait a long time to build a new tower, it was a toss up between this and the i5-750 in the beginning and then..... I got word that amd was releasing their new thubans..... that on top of the much awaited and anticipated fermi gtx 4xx series........ I waited from Dec. last year up until April 24th, then I said ah forget I'll just do a build now I don't want to wait until the end of summer for new parts............ and what do you know, almost a week later both thuban and fermi dropped onto ncix selling pages and I was devastated, how ever, it is stable at 4.0ghz since a week after I bought it. crossfired ati 5770's from XFX, water cooled by swiftech, 4gb of pretty fast ram by G.Skill, on my 23in LCD by Acer, so I can't complain. and with the sale on this week, I was able to quickly sell both my cards and I ordered a gtx280 over the weekend it should be here by thursday :)

AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition 3.4GHz Socket AM3 125W Quad-Core Processor
Cons: -Slightly less powerful than the i5 in some areas

Pros: -Price-Cheaper mobos-Free game
Comment:
I got this due to it being around $20 cheaper than the i5 at the time. It's done its job well thus far. Although, I would have gone for the i5-750 if I had waited just a couple of weeks because the price for that went down. But this is still a great processor nonetheless. Mobos tend to be slightly cheaper for the AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition and it comes with a free game so it's still a good deal. Another thing is that you don't have to pay a premium to have a mobo with full XFire.
