AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition 3.4GHz Socket AM3 125W Quad-Core Processor
Cons:Not as great as the Intel offerings out right now

Pros:Good value, great processing :)
Comment:
I bought this purely as a value processor in the 130$ range. The intel chips right now seem to provide more processing power per $ when you look ath chips around 180$ and up :)

Excellent quad core cpu especially for the price. It handles everything i've thrown at it. Great of overclocking as well currently I've overclocked it to 3.8 ghz with Coolermaster Hyper 212 Plus Direct Touch 4 Heatpipe Heatsink AM2 AM3 LGA1366 LGA1155 LGA1156 120MM, and 2 other case fans to keep the temperature cool. >

Runs rock solid on both my Gigabyte mobo and ASRock 890FX DELUXE3 AM3 AMD 890FX Mobo. Incredibly overclockable, stable, quad core and low-cost cost compared to intel version. Runs Windows 7 64 bit Ultimate extremely smoothly with i feel 7.6 rating somewhere around there None AMD might not be the fastest processer compared to intel but as technology keeps growing rapidly, everything eventually gonna be obsolete in year or two so unless your gonna need some significant power to save few minutes of your time id save your dollars and go AMD all the way

AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition 3.4GHz Socket AM3 125W Quad-Core Processor
Cons:Stock cooler (please do yourself a favor by purchasing an aftermarket cooler like Noctua NF-P14 or cheaper go with CM Hyper 212 + if you want this cpu for gaming)

Pros:Good bang/bucks
Comment:
Good quad core cpu for the price, bought it about 90 days ago and still is a good bang/buck. Overclock capacity is great, I run mine at 3.9 ghz (instead of 3.4ghz) stable with full load stress test at least than 54°C for each core (with aftermarket cooler CM Hyper 212 Plus). So I would recommand this cpu to anyone with small budget for gaming/browsing.

AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition 3.4GHz Socket AM3 125W Quad-Core Processor
Cons:Terrible fan.

Pros:Very fast, good OC
Comment:
Bought this last summer, been just about a year and it still handles everything I throw at it. Had it O.C up to 4GHZ (not stable, crashed after a minute).Only problem I had is the stock fan is terrible. It sounds like there is a small jet flying around in my case when I had it.Good performer especially with it's current reasonable price, likely lower when the AMD FX series comes out this summer.

Cons:None so far.

Pros:Fast, Cheap, Easy OC.
Comment:
I'm upgrading my entire system right now and just bought this to replace my old pentium 4. The performance increase is great! Everything runs so much smoother and faster, and running multiple programs is a breeze for this CPU. You can easily tune it up to 3.6 with stock cooler and almost no difference in temps. Overall it's a great CPU for the price would highly recommend!

AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition 3.4GHz Socket AM3 125W Quad-Core Processor
Cons:Heatsink is a bit large

Pros:Fastgreat value
Comment:
Used this in an HTPC build and needed a bit of extra power (I will eventually add a gaming card to the rig). Works swiftly with all my applications. Only complaint is that the heatsink/fan is a little large and I cannot fit a second hard drive into my Silverstone GD06 as a result (I'll fix that little issue in the future too) Aside from that I couldn't be happier - AMD has not let me down let!

Pros:pricequad core!

Bought as part of my budget build, I don't know how to OC, but have read reports of people pushin it to 4ghz. Compared to the dual-core I was using, defintely a step above it. Highly recommended for budget gamers.

AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition 3.4GHz Socket AM3 125W Quad-Core Processor
Cons:-in rendering it's not as good as core i7s, still does the job quick.

Pros:-cheap-handles any game and software out there no prob-oc'd to 4ghz easily
Comment:
Great cpu, will handle ANYTHING out there gaming wise. Not as fast as the core i7 but that's if you're into hardcore rendering which isn't a lot of people. Oc'd this to 4ghz in no time with a Corsair A70 and it runs at 40c idle and 55c load, overclocks great in overall. No complains with this cpu, will probably not upgrade until cpu's AFTER bulldozer and ivy bridge.

AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition 3.4GHz Socket AM3 125W Quad-Core Processor
Cons:Stock heatsink fan is a little bit noisy.

Pros:Great CPU. Easy upgrade in an AM2+ system. Can save some money and keep this processor when I upgrade to an AM3 motherboard.
Comment:
Purchased this to replace my Athlon 64 X2 4600+ (long overdue). I didn't notice a spectacular difference in performance for day-to-day tasks. But programs do open up and respond quicker, especially when I have many different programs running. There was, however, a HUGE improvement in gaming performance. I have a Radeon HD 4890 but was bottle necked by my old CPU.With the 965, I'm able to crank almost everything to the highest setting and still see at least 3x better performance than my old Athlon. Haven't even tried overclocking it yet.Only negative is that the stock fan is considerably noisier than my old stock fan. The CPU idles at about 45 C and goes up to maybe 55 C when loaded.Overall a great purchase. Definitely get your dollar's worth.

AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition 3.4GHz Socket AM3 125W Quad-Core Processor
Cons:hard to figure out how to mount the heatsink correctly

Pros:fastcheapgood enough to support gaming of most recent games (provided you pair it with a decent video card) (starcraft 2, COD..)
Comment:
My first time purchasing an AMD processor, chip is fast as hell, but I had trouble installing the heatsink in the beginning. I had to remount 2-3 times before doing it correctly. For the price and speed, I will definitely buy this again for a budget build

AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition 3.4GHz Socket AM3 125W Quad-Core Processor
Cons:-for the performance the wattage of this CPU is too high-gaming performance isn't the best, however for it's price it gets the job done nicely matching Intel CPUs price performance.-over-clocking does not yield the expect speed gains beyond 3.6Ghz (memory bandwidth? or lacking FPU power?)

Pros:-L3 cache makes windows 7 multitasking very responsive-noticeably faster than my AMD Athlon II X4 640 3.0Ghz in multitasking-fair over-clocking headroom without touching voltages (about 400Mhz without voltage increase)-CPU can be placed in upcoming AMD AM3+ motherboards that will run the new generation of CPUs coming out in summerearly fall 2011
Comment:
This is a fair processor upgrade from the AMD CPUs that lack the 8Mb cache (6Mb L3 cache) for its responsiveness. Makes you feel like you have a new computer rather than a speed bump. In games there isn't a whole lot of difference in performance but it can be noticed if you have a high end video card. In a gamw where my old AMD Athlon II X4 640 3.0Ghz may have pushed a CPU limited game to 40 frames per second it is now running at around 48-50 frames per second. I also found I can over-clock by 100Mhz and still have enough headroom to lower voltages by 0.1volts or 0.075volts at a 150Mhz over-clock (results may vary). If this CPU was an end of line upgrade I would have only given 3 stars, however it will work on the upcoming next generation of motherboards for the new generation of Bull Dozer CPUs. Also the multitasking speed is rather nice, the weakness is performance to gaming speed per watt of electricity consumed; the 45NM design is showing it's age.

Cons: -Well timing.... Sandy bridge just came out and bulldozer just around the corner.-Not to mention big brother PH II X6

Pros: -Price is good. -Easy overclock.-Noticeable difference from dual core-temps never go over 55 Celsius with H50. push/pull
Comment:
Was a good buy for me because my mobo doesn't support any newer processor; so this was the newest supported CPU for my DFI790FX SB 600.

This is a great bang for your buck CPU that can be easily overclocked. Got this during the boxing day sale and could not be happier. Overclocked to 4ghz with decent idle temps. Although it runs slower than my i7 960, it's more than good enough to play every game that I throw at it. Awesome CPU.
