This is a large, fast, reliable drive. I own many of them, which had been bought 1 at a time from NewEgg over a period of about a year (i.e., rather than in a single big invest in). Unlike some of the reviewers, I have never ever received a dead drive from NewEgg. I understand from others' reviews that these drives don't carry out appropriately in RAID and, in fact, aren't created by WD to be RAIDed. This limitation should be superior advertised. However, I don't use RAID. I have a rapidly SSD as a method drive, back up day-to-day on an external drive, and employ these 1TB drives only for media storage. Would have been excellent if it had worked. This drive was DOA. Couldn't install Windows 7, as the drive wouldn't format. BIOS S.M.A.R.T. utility warned of imminent drive failure on 5th attempt to install OS. It appears any 1TB or bigger drive is just a crapshoot. When they function, they seem to perform and when they don't, they don't in a big way.
