Microsoft Windows 7 Professional 64-bit 1-Pack for System Builders
Cons:Few App has stopped working errorsAlot of changes to get used when coming from XPUser Account Control is annoying

Pros:Very fast & slick installation.Great hardware supportGreat performance
Comment:
Very impressed with the install procedure. Very little input required & went super fast & smooth. Nearly all my (Gigabyte P55A-UD4P)mainboard components & hardware functioned right out of the box on first boot allowing me to instantly go online & get updated drivers. Mostly all good so far. Had some "Software has stopped working & needs to close" errors in beginning, mostly windows explorer & internet explorer, but seems fine now. Also wish Windows Mail or even Outlook Express was still an option, hate Live Mail & hate having to search for a 'free' mail client I like! UAC is also very annoying at times. Relatively minor complaints over all.

Microsoft Windows 7 Professional 64-bit 1-Pack for System Builders
Cons:Didn't come with any of the regular games

Pros:Very Intuitive and God Mode is great
Comment:
Anybody else having the same problem with the 64 bit OEM Professional version? I had a system built by ncix and it works great except for the fact that I have no games in my start menu. When I run an explorer serach, I get no results for either Freecell or solitaire.

A Disappointment if you use Silverlight for stream
Comment:
Can you believe these idiots atMicrosoft are pushing the 64 bit system, saying it will be the operating system of the future, and Silverlight , needed to view streaming video, is not produced in a 64 bit version, and Microsoft has no immediate plans to produce a 64 bit system? We watchj Netflix, and cannot view it now, since switching from a 32 bit system to a 64 bit system. Of course, this was unknown to me when I bought the sytem.... The system works ok, but forget it if you watch streaming video!

Far Better than Vista
Comment:
After having fought with Vista for several years, Win7 is without question far more stable and easy to use. We have replaced our two Vista systems with Win7 and have not had any problems.

Grudging thumps up from a Unix guy
Comment:
Windows and I are not best friends. I use it simply because I have to do so in order to perform my job. That was my thoughts up until Windows 7. I accepted Win 95. I tried to forget WinME was ever distributed. Win NT and XP were solid and acceptable. Vista was...well.. the ME of the current day.. but this Win 7 is shaping up to be very sweet. I use the XP mode to run my VPN software and it works flawlessly. I use the Win 7 features to run my games, etc and I've yet to find a feature I do not like. Easiest build I've every set up. Only been a month, so could still be in honeymoon period, but this could get to be a very sweet OS. Very solid.

Finally, and escape from Vista
Comment:
Before I upgraded to Windows 7, I had nothing but multiple BSODs on a daily basis on my Vista machine. I purchased the full version of Windows 7 (not the upgrade) and fully replace Vista OS. I have been running for a month now and no issues whatsoever to report. Finally, it seems like Microsoft has put out a solid OS.

Win 7 is more than a bandaid fix, it's actually a complete solution for all of VISTA's annoyances. Easy install, and even easier configuration .. hasn't crashed once! Looks like I'll be sticking w Windows a little longer!

Microsoft Windows 7 Professional 64-bit 1-Pack for System Builders
Cons:Tied to one mobo

Pros:Price PointXP ModeSupport for larger amounts of RAM
Comment:
From my perspective it blows away Vista. It is what Vista should have been. Well worth it to grab a 64-bit copy to get the support for extra RAM.

I've enjoyed using this new OS on my newly built system. It has loaded eadily and functioned well to this point. Hopefully other vendors will upgrade their drivers to lessen the upgrade cost.

Works flawlessly!
Comment:
I have Vista 64-bit installed on one drive, and Windows 7 on a separate drive and can dual boot them. So far all of my drivers and programs have installed and worked with no problems on 7. I can tell that 7 is definitely the better OS, its smoother and faster than Vista. Overall I'm pleased with this purchase.

Microsoft Windows 7 Professional 64-bit 1-Pack for System Builders
Cons:Initially annoying security settings.

Pros:Stable, fast, improved security.
Comment:
w7 is surprisingly stable and fast. UAC is irritating initially for someone accustomed to Windows XP, but you get used to it very quickly. Performance increase alone is worth upgrading from XP to w7 (and obviously from Vista, which was garbage). I haven't had any hardware incompatibility issues thus far and not a single crash since I bought w7 over two months ago! Running on an i7-920 (MSI x58 pro-e mobo with 6GB ddr) Windows 7 installed in an incredible 20 minutes and only restarted once. I couldn't believe it. Power management features are very worthwhile if you're using a laptop for its superior ability to conserve battery life over earlier operating systems.

Cons:pricey

Pros:- very stable- fast- good looking- massive driver set- fast installation
Comment:
if you are still using vista or xp. you should switch your system now. windows 7 has all the good combinations from vista and xp. i have been using this for 2 months and havent experienced a single crash. the installation takes 15 mins on a laptop. loading time for startup and close are so much faster. i love this system. anyone does not get this system should be shot.

Not as fast as XP
Comment:
I like it overall, good price value for what you get. But let's not deceive ourselves. XP still runs faster. I have a dual boot of both and cannot get Windows 7 64 bit up to par with XP. Even in safe mode it still lags behind XP.

Win 7 64 Bit OS
Comment:
I have both 32 and 64 bit on different computers. I think the 64 runs faster and smoother. The only thing I don't like is that all mfg's haven't got drivers for it. It is a good stable O.S. so far. It has been a part of my network for about 2 months now and no problems with O.S.

Get It!
Comment:
I have been running Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit for 2 months now. I started with 4gb of RAM and upgraded to 8gb before it would run smooth. 7 is what you need to have on your PC. For those who ride; XP-Shovelhead, Vista-Evo and 7-Twin Cam.

Make sure your hardware works!
Comment:
Wasted hours on install due to bad (new ram.) Windows 7 will not finish install if ram, MB, or any other hardware is unstable. 64-bit installs are very picky. Installs better from IDE optical drive than sata. If install hangs retry with only mb, one ram stick, video card, and one optical drive. Turn off all onboard ports and devices. Esp. USB - use ps2 keyboard and no mouse if you have to. Just need space bar, tab, and enter for fields.)

A nice improvement from Vista, (although it kinda feels like Vista - fixed). Has been real stable and pleasent. To bad was charged for it. Should have been free to Vista sufferers :) I would reccommend to XPers to take the plunge.

Step up from Vista. Very happy
Comment:
Did a clean install of this 64-bit version of Win7. Very happy with the speed and boot times. Much better than Vista. In terms of features, haven't seen any significantly newer or more fun features than in Vista. Wish there were maybe a few more innovative features. But overall, much, much happier with Win7 than Vista.
