This is not my initially go with Win 7, but I believed another assessment was in order.Pros? Its Windows, its NT six.1, its the smoothest operating, fastest (as in productivity) Operating program to date. The versioning (Home, Pro, Ultimate, Business) is a tiny as well a lot for the typical consumer.

Decently priced and installed like a dream. It was really surprising at how quickly it was totally installed and running. No more arranging half your day devoted to just placing the operating technique on and then every little thing else.Following obtaining had two months of messing around with Win7 Pro I have to say that I've been turned from a skeptic where I would under no circumstances have dreamed of leaving my beloved WinXP, to a firm believer that there's just anything far more "right" about Win7.Two months of common use and there's been no failures, crashes, blue screens, or other concerns. It just appears all around solid in its construction Bit of a learning curve. Take anything you knew about WinXP and throw it away because Win7 rearranges some things or hides them behind other items. But give yourself some time to adjust and after a week or two, Win7 feels really organic to navigate in and use.About the only issue that I've had with Win7 is recording of log files for chats. You'd feel that telling a system to record log information to a specific folder would make it go there. But you'd be wrong, as an alternative, it'll record it to some hidden and obscure folder deep elsewhere to retailer your log files. Recording them to a hard drive other than the one Windows is on functions fine. Have no thought why it does this. I'm pleased that I switched more than to Win7. I had my reservations about it all at very first.

I've been working with windows because three.1 and this version is by far my favored. It has been amazingly stable. I honestly can't don\'t forget a time when windows 7 crashed. (I've had applications crash but not the OS) The new UI stuff is truly good. I Love becoming able to drag maximize windows. Built in driver assistance is expansive. I nevertheless uncover the audio input options tough to use and manage. Worth the upgrade for positive!

It installed without a hitch. It appears like anything is operating fine exept... I can't get the Windows Knowledge Index to operate. I installed this OS just like any other software program. It only asks for the Item Key. The only challenge I have is with the Windows Encounter Index. On the net game COD:Black Ops freezes even though offline it operates perfectly on that and Crysis. I don't know adequate to say it's the OS or the BIOS and/or GPU though I've upgraded my GPU drivers. I didn't purchase the personal computer to play games but wanted to see what the program could do. I'm satisfied with the OS general. But did I seriously want Pro. I need to have saved a couple of bucks and just bould Home (Basic).

Supports TRIM for SSDs, also has XP mode for running older applications. None. TRIM has to be set up by command prompt, but other than that the OS performs fine.

I bought this given that Windows 7 is required for DX11 video cards and I needed a new rig. Plus I wanted 64 Bit support for RAM support above 4GB Price tag, it's ridiculous to spend more than 贄 for an OS which pretty considerably does the very same thing as earlier Windows OS. If I could run all the newest games in Linux I wouldn't pay for this, as it adds nothing to my gaming experience apart from supporting all the new hardware that MS doesn't support on WinXP any more.

New file copy program UNBELIEVABLY UNSTABLE. Doesn't like many HDD's [more than 1] Has some sort of "permissions" block that won't let me save files. Can't comprehend the common microsoft enable language to figure it out. Get a blue screen if you wink at it incorrect. Won't recognize my pricey RAM. spent 񘘐 on a new technique with this and now I'm in BLUE SCREEN HELL! Can't start my personal computer anymore - just get a continual loop of bluescreens, gives to fix the challenge, wait, wait ,wait, a different blue screen, and round we go once again.

- Fantastic price.- Really straightforward and intuitive on install- Loaded it up on a new Sabertooth board and it I didn't have any issues on set up. -- I think the only issue that quirks me with Windows goods is that the update procedure on the initial install will take so extended. Its almost as if there is a different disks worth of updates required for the original install. It is extremely simple to get via the course of action although.

Performs much more generally than not and has a far more modern day and updated interface.Even with "all the modifications", it doesn't enable me do something any much better. At least once a week Windows 7 will do one or much more of the following:- Freeze your pc where you can't even reset your machine by means of the situation reset button- Give you the "blue screen of death" (for various causes/errors)- Reset the machine without having any warning I've used Microsoft operating systems due to the fact DOS 3.x and Windows 3..Windows 7 is nowhere close to becoming as stable as Windows XP. I ran Windows XP for more than 30 days on a laptop without having a reboot/restart and it was stable! That's a month devoid of any difficulties!Windows 7 will give you 1 really serious crash/problem per week. (And I restart everyday!)I've burned tested all my hardware:- Tested CPU, energy supply, motherboard with Prime95 in-location significant FFT test for more than 24 hours- Tested RAM with MemTest86+ with many passes- Tested video card with Video Card Stability test for an hourI keep the laptop or computer by:- Run anti-virus in background to verify all files and Web pages- Virus and spyware scanning at least the moment per week- CHKDSK scanning at least when per week- CHKDSK scanning after ever crash- CHKDSK scanning with surface test at least when per month- Clean the registry at least once per weekI know it's not the hardware or a virus, or spyware... it's Windows 7.

Upgraded my technique from P55/Core 2 Duo E6550 Windows XP to P67/i5 2500 Windows 7 64-bit and have in no way had a more quickly, much easier technique upgrade. Umm... none? I know I'm supposed to hate MS items, but so far can't say something poor about Windows 7.

- It's quite effortless to setup; thanks to it featuring a GUI for the complete setup process, as an alternative of becoming text-based for the initial half, like past versions of Windows- The interface is effortlessly the greatest point to come about to Windows due to the fact 95 was released; it's very effortless to figure out and looks rather nice- It runs rather stable; I've never ever had a blue screen on any of the versions of Windows 7 I've employed The 64-bit version is not backward compatible with 16-bit Windows software. Whilst this probably won't be an problem for most customers, this suggests I can't play some of my seriously old, Windows three.1-based games anymore

Yet again, almost everything. The UAC as been toned down a bit right out of the box, which is great. Also it's great that this version (Professional) has the attributes I want to make certain that I will never have a difficulty with any system no matter how old or what the update of that system is. None. Simply because I built a new and full method with the intent on running Windows 7. Can't wait till 64-bit becomes completely mainstream.
