Installation a breeze
Comment:
I bought a kit t & the Pro version of Windows 7. Didn't even need to use the driver disk. Ordered the Pro version because of XP mode. Some older programs (a Minolta Dimage slide scanner & software) will only run under XP mode.

Microsoft Windows 7 Professional 64-bit 1-Pack for System Builders
Cons: -somewhat poorly packaged (by the manufacturer)

Pros: -DX11 support-it's not Vista
Comment:
Vista has been one of the most awkward transitional OS' to date... In most (ok, some) cases it worked just fine, but Windows 7's improvements to the UI alone make it a far better deal than its predecessor ever was. That's not to say some of the design choices aren't questionable, but overall it ends up being far more functional. I shelled out for the "Ultimate" SKU of Vista, and deeply regretted it - so I'm very glad they brought back the "Professional" tier. For normal users, bitlocker is not worth paying for, and if you're not a big business there's not likely to be any need for full UI language packs. The one gripe I have about the physical product itself, is that the disc comes inserted "upside down", so that the holographic label can be seen through the clear case. Except that you can't see it anyway, because the whole thing comes in a white cardboard sleeve. Vista's disc came the other way, with the reading surface towards the case. Why does this bother me? There is a paper booklet that comes in the other half of the case, and it's not flat. By the time I received the product, there was a large (but minor) scuff all along the DVD where it touched the booklet. Microsoft's software discs already have a reputation for not lasting very long, so this is somewhat disappointing, even though it does not currently cause any problems.

It boots my computer - yay!
Comment:
For what it does it seems to work really well. Already managed to crash it a couple times but for the most part I think this was an effective replacement for Vista. Definitely get 64GB to future-proof your system. I bought the pro version to run Virtual PC just in case my old XP games wouldn't run on it but so far I haven't run into any hassles, even with games that weren't supposed to be compatible with Win7. This XP holdout is satisfied with Win7 but I still struggle with the price for a program that does little else than turn my computer on.

Better than Vista
Comment:
Bought Windows 7 for a fresh install on a high end HP laptop. So far Windows 7 is a major improvement over Vista much more stable takes alittle getting used to changes but install went smoothly except for finding updated printer drivers for older printers did finally get a running

I'm impressed
Comment:
This is absolutely the simplest OS install I have ever done. I needed no drivers. The syetem insalled everything automatically. It runs all of my old 32 bit apps fine, and I swear it's faster than the same computer running Win XP 32 bit. Lot's of choices and features. I'm still learning them all. Network sharing with Win XP took a little research and I miss the old Outlook Express. Windows Live mail needs help, so I switched to Thunderbird.

Literally all my Windows problems went away, not only that my games run way faster on Windows 7. I no longer have a reason to buy a Mac.

Best OS Yet!
Comment:
I've built 18 systems with Windows OS 7 64bit and I have been extremely impressed, after the Vista disaster I was all but ready to start recommending MAC's to clients. Windows 7 64bit turned me around. It's better and faster than XP; Better, faster, half as big as Vista and runs like a dream. Super fast boot time awesome features a really wonderful OS. It is OEM so to you guys complaining about it only have the DVD, IT'S OEM! it is for system builders building a new system so stop wining about the manuals OEM assumes you have an idea how to install an OS. This brought me back from the MAC

I went from XP 32bit to & 64bit and it's faster then ever before, best decision I ever made, Never had any problems yet, but I got this for $129 when they had a 48 hour sale, it's best to purchase this from this website as they don't charge you for state tax and free shipping, keep an eye out for they're sale when they have it,

Windows 7 rocks
Comment:
Keep in mind this is a sytem builder version, only good for the computer it is installed on. As with any new OS, Windows 7 takes some time to learn the tweaks. Tiger is great!

Great new system

Great new OS, I got it, I'm still learning all the new features and how it's set up. No trouble with getting the drivers makes this OS far greater than Vista when it came out.

How IT Arrived
Comment:
The Win7 Pro is a great OS system, installs anything you plug into your computer with ease prior to installing the software. No Microsoft Games as the previous versions. Just want to know why I received it in a cheap plastic see thru cover as if a manufacture would send with a computer they built. No instruction book was with what I receive. Was about to return it, but I installed a new Hard Drive and needed my system to work, so I decided to keep it. Looks like a Burned Copy!

Windows 7 Pro
Comment:
I have worked in retail almost three years now and you won't find a better deal for Windows 7 Pro than this. You'd be lucky to receive this OS for $299.99 in retail stores. Now you may get two years of customer support for that extra $150.00, but that to me isn't worth that much money. So please if you understand how to use an OS properly and won't mess anything up just get Windows 7 here.

AWESOME !!
Comment:
I have read many reviews on Windows 7 and decided to try it, with 6gb of memory this OS kills the rest, I am a lover of XP but i have to admit win7 works extremely well, its stable, smooth, very user friendly and the new bells and whistle look good. I have 64 Bit so it uses my 6gb very nicely, I have no problems running programs simultaneously with plenty of memeory to spare. You wont go wrong with this OS. Microsoft has created a Bang!!

Definitely Faster
Comment:
I can definitely see a speed difference since switching from XP to 7. The install process was a snap and faster than XP. Finding drivers for my devices was also very simple. There were a few minor issues with some applications, but with the ability to have those programs run in XP or Vista mode, that's pretty much taken care of that.

Seems pretty fast. The more I try to use it the more I find programs that will not work. It also has made several pieces of my hardware non-usable.

Excellent Operating System
Comment:
Always thought that Windows XP Professional would be the ONLY system I'd use , I now stand corrected , this OS is fantastic even if it does like a lot of RAM . Installed the Home Premium version in my son's older PC and it works very there also . Nice Work Microsoft .
