Installed easier than I expected. Didn't even have to look up new device drivers. Less complicated to navigate than I anticipated contemplating I loved XP. Not to fond of M$ but this OS might modify my mind. Some points aren't as easy to uncover as in Win XP but it's a finding out curve.

rapid install of default settings. layout appears substantially much better than i expected. installed XP mode but so far haven't required it since all my XP applications installed in the x86 applications folder. for a semi power user the continuous "are you certain you want to" popup boxes is annoying. i realize why but it would be great to run as administrator whilst adding all the additional printers, scanners and other programs a new install wants. yeah, it's picky and a minor con.possibly it's me but my massive complaint is MS hiding things like changing the wallpaper on my dual monitors. it just appears that MS with vista and win7 has produced some user tools easier though generating others tougher. i ran XP Pro for years (and nevertheless do on other boxes) and had only limited encounter with vista. that was helping buddies with their computer systems and frankly it kept me from upgrading. if you read the MS website's "why go to win7" you can effortlessly see they are frustrated that corporations haven't upgraded to vista. MS seems to have done a great job with win7 finding rid of a lot of these objections. i'm operating a lot of legacy stuff that vista wouldn't have handled. and exactly where the manufacturers win7 drivers didn't operate the OS went on-line, located the appropriate ones and installed them. that was darned great and saved a bunch of headaches. overall i'm pleased upgrading to win7.

Win7 is what Vista need to've been. Initial release was considerably far more stable versus Vista's initial release (before SP1 or SP2). Fewer processes and much less overhead assists it run quicker and smoother than Vista, even on older machines. Has far better compatibility with older devices and software programs than Vista, in particular when you install/use Win7's WinXP Mode. It's rather possibly the finest Microsoft Windows consumer OS due to the fact WinXP SP2/SP3. It's not quite as reputable and stable as Linux, but not several Microsoft items are. Can't delete technique files and expect it to function appropriately. LOL Still quite vulnerable to malware (adware, spyware, Trojans, viruses, worms, and so on.). Just run a Great anti-virus (Kaspersky, Avira AntiVir, Microsoft Security Essentials, etc.) along with a fantastic anti-malware software system (Emsisoft Anti-Malware, Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, and so on.), and even CCleaner, update/scan weekly, and you ought to be great to go! I have utilised windows items considering that 3.. I rate win7 x64 the best so far. It is what Vista really should have been. It loaded smoothly....the very first time....Vista 32 took three trys to get it loaded. It is swifter than Vista in each and every facet. It loads quicker and is a lot snappier in use. Also getting 64 bit I now have use of all my ram. I have not identified any difficulties acquiring 64 bit drivers for all of my stuff. I guess everybody caught up. Anyway, 64 bit will soon be the norm. Had to download Windows Essentials to get e-mail service. I have been running Win 7 pro for small more than a year now and have been fairly impressed with program efficiency. Personally I think OEM is the way to go when buying any version of Windows, given that the value is less costly than retail, and lets be truthful who seriously utilizes phone support any longer? n/a For those of you who are like me and you're worried about Win 7 compatibility with your companies server/client systems. Microsoft has a utility referred to as "Virtual Computer" which can be used in conjunction with "XP mode" to develop a virtual atmosphere of Win XP SP3 on your desktop in Win 7. Both be downloaded from the Microsoft web page

More rapidly installation than prior versions. Quickly, streamlined interface. Surely more SECURE! It just looks and feels great. Really should be able to run on a pc running xp. Not seriously a con but hunting down drivers and patches for my older games and periphials. It took patience but it was worth it. I also assume Bill Gates has sufficient of the planets money and should lower the cost a little to make up for past blunders. I installed windows 7 pro on an older create (athlon 64 fx60 with 4 gigs of ram) on a 1tb hdd creating a dual boot with xp and it runs flawlessly. I liked it so much I built a new gaming rig and it's unreal! I skipped the vista debacle since I loved xp but they got it correct this time with windows 7.

There is a reason that Bill Gates is the richest man in the world - it has a lot to do with the high quality of goods that Microsoft has generally offered. Windows 7 is another good operating method, and the qualified package has every little thing you need to have. Cost We just migrated to this at work so I felt that it would be very good for me to get familiar with it at household as properly.

great software, worth the buy this is not a con on Microsofts side, but before you do a system develop or upgrade an older technique verify to make confident all your hardware corporations have the accessible drivers to be compatible with it. everything i had worked good except Inventive does not have a driver update for their X-FI pci sound cards, had to ditch mine. worth it to get just verify your systems hardware to make confident all components are going to operate

really stable, has under no circumstances locked up on me because I've had it. I bought the skilled version so I could download and run xp3 in virtual mode. I'm working with vmplayer to achieve this and it works wonderful. I'm able to continue using my old dependable (don't have to learn it all over once more) enterprise computer software. haven't identified any working with an intel i5-750 chip. The vt mode this allows run my virtual machine quick.

I enjoy Win 7, have been utilizing it on an additional program because final year. Last year I upgraded a computer system operating XP Pro to Win 7 and a neighbor's running XP to Win 7 no issues.I choose to upgrade my XP Pro 64 Bit method and it will not let me. Rather, it tells me to copy my user files to an external drive the do a clean install of Win 7.Did that, took 44 minutes. When I went to do a clean install, it backs up my files anyway to the difficult drive. Then I notice that I am almost out of drive space 鳠GB Drive). So, I go to delete the folder that it backed every little thing up to and it will let me delete some but not all.I have moved all photos, music, etc to one more drive and I am nonetheless 21GB more than what I must be. Windows dropped XP Pro 64Bit like a hot potato and left numerous of us hanging. They ought to have had the foresight that those of us with the 64 bit XP pro may want to upgrade to Win 7 devoid of loosing all of our installed programs and information.

Its Windows 7, the Operating system itself is in fact one of the greater O/S's to come out of Redmond to date. two cons: 1# Microsoft's update to it's WAP application is calling a LOT of previously validated software program keys bogus. Though it may or might not be a ploy to get you to get yet another copy of Windows 7, its confident helping Linux out.Š One particular of the greatest points about Newegg is their shipping - 3 days or much less is a defacto. I get the e mail now that it will take 4 - 7 business days??? You guys getting greedy/lazy more than there?

Quick boot-up, practically error free, pretty to look at, also. As quirky as any other Windows before it, but that's to be expected -- I mean, c'mon, it is Windows. Whilst Windows 7 is wonderful, I wanted to give an additional shout-out to Newegg for providing the OEM at a decreased price, and for their swift shipping, and for just being an wonderful web-site for builders to discover a lot of cool stuff in a single place, reasonably priced. Hats off to every person at the Egg!

Clean, customizable, and user-friendly. Vista was not worth giving up XP; Win7 (probably) is. Switching to admin profile to do something significant is sort of annoying, but it doesn't come up typically. If I had more people about my Pc I'd in all probability actually appreciate it.Not several of my apps essentially advantage substantially from 64-bit. Perhaps that will change. It's a bit harder to discover & modify some options compared to XP -- especially, I had a tiny trouble with network and audio settings. But it didn't take lengthy to get anything operating smoothly.Takes up a fair quantity of space on my 64GB SSD, even after trimming several unnecessary components. I've been employing Windows on and off ever considering that three.1 (along with Mac and several Linux distros) and I've criticized Microsoft as a lot as anyone. But this is a good OS.

Installed with no a challenge. Recognized anything but the sound card, and I got that from Creative in no time. Woke up my technique, which was operating on 32-bit XP. Homegroup is really cool, even although you don't need Pro to use this alternative-handy to have a "pseudo" network without having significantly work. None Got the Pro version so I can use this machine as a server and media center following I develop my new Pc in the near future. I'm happy that I caught it for บ off a handful of weeks ago. Newegg's shipping was brilliant, as usual.

Installed without incident. By far my favored Windows operating method getting used 98, XP and Vista for years. Haven't had any complications due to the fact initial installation. Adore the additional features that come with Professional. Only con is the high cost which is to be expected with Microsoft software package. I was able to get it for a steal of a deal, however, on Boxing Day (贝). If I build one more machine in the close to future, I will surely be going with Windows 7 Skilled.
