Cons:Too expensive to upgrade from XP

Pros:It's a stable OSThe look is not bad
Comment:
I had Windows XP and I needed to go to Win 7.The OS is all right. Quite a few imporvements from XP.However I find that MS still wants too much money for the people that want to upgrade. That's why I purchased this OEM version.

Microsoft Windows 7 Professional 64-bit 1-Pack for System Builders
Cons:-Needs a lot of processing "power" and RAM-High price

Pros:-WORKS(main feature, uncommon)-Good looks-Easy network connections and managing-Good enough protection included-Network, help and debug tools do a very good job-Very intuitive
Comment:
Obviously, Microsoft had some issues to solve with XP and especially Vista. Windows 7 is, to my knowledge, an operating system that combines fluidity, security (or at least it feels secure and problem-free) and allows a lot of freedom to the user.I lost so many hours on forums trying to troubleshoot all kinds of things about softwares and hardware (i.e. RAM) that didn't work as it should or didn't work at all because of their interactions with the OS. Since I installed Windows 7 pro, the few problems I had were all solved by the debugger, network analyser, or whatever help tool included.Everything is intuitive. I rarely look for more than 10 minutes when I try to do something I never did without help(like connecting to an external network).Of course, I only recommend the 64-bit pro version ; Home edition doesn't have some important features -important even for a student like me- (and it's not clearly indicated what's missing in the summaries). And as of the 64-bit part, well, let's not get into arguments whether or not an OS being able to support more than 3-4ish gigs of RAM and full 64-bit processing (and more) is necessary. It is or will be, that's all. You will be very sorry if you buy a smaller version of Windows 7 (Basic, Home and 32-bit) and find out after some time that it's missing something important.

Microsoft Windows 7 Professional 64-bit 1-Pack for System Builders
Cons:Aero is pretty demanding for HTPC; have turned this off

Pros:better stability than Vista, better compatibility with HW
Comment:
Got this to replace my Vista 64-based HTPC, which kept flaking out (power-on to strange states; disconnects of audio from HDMI, etc). Have not experienced any major issues, though S3+S4 suspend on my platform (G41M-E2SH) is still buggy.

Microsoft Windows 7 Professional 64-bit 1-Pack for System Builders
Cons:Not compatible with some products that were in Vista Ex Web cams

Pros:Not vistaEmulated Xp environmentLow operating requirementsMakes low frequency processors seem really powerful
Comment:
With lower operating requirements than vista and considerably faster on start up Windows 7 is the New XP. The beauty of the Professional edition is that you can run a emulated XP environment which hence more compatibility with the products that you love. Strongly recommend for anyone that buys a new system.

Microsoft Windows 7 Professional 64-bit 1-Pack for System Builders
Cons:All the famous Windows issues.

Pros:Finally a good looking windows with good performances.
Comment:
Well, I was using XP since its release now and it was time for me to upgrade so with my new PC I got windows 7. For 140$, you want to get something good. It is but its still not the ultimate OS we all dream of. I got some issues at first and second installing but its probably due to the fact that I'm not a professional of Windows, just as a lot of people. Anyway, consider windows 7 as THE upgrade if you are still using XP. Nothing to add, its just Windows after all. All you want from it is to work the best it can and it is possible.

Cons:Interface can be clunky sometimes, networking a little finicky

Pros:Nice graphics, stable, fast
Comment:
Overall, Windows 7 is a nice improvement over Windows Vista and a great improvement over Windows XP. It takes some getting used to the new Control Panel and the placement of some of the legacy settings in Windows XP, but if you've used Vista for any amount of time, it should be relatively familiar.

Cons:Cost

Pros:Backup function proved usefulCame with a free Hard Drive
Comment:
I accidentally installed windows xp on another drive, and for whatever reason the original hard drive information seemed lost. However, because of its backup function that the home edition lacked, I managed to load the windows image that was made 1 week prior to my mistake via the free hard drive I received in their promo. Buy it whenever there is a promo, you won't be disappointed.

I used WIndows 7 home premium since the initial launch date. I have to move to the professional version because of the lack of support for dual cpu of W7 home version.

Microsoft Windows 7 Professional 64-bit 1-Pack for System Builders
Cons:- So many different versions- Some places can have cumbersome interfaces

Pros:- Better than Vista- Stable
Comment:
I've been using 64bit version for a few months. It's been pretty stable, doesn't have the annoying popups of vista. Sometimes a little harder to find drivers (if there's no Vista/7 drivers available for older hardware). But much better than the previous OS.

Cons:Requires a decent (64bit) system. Some features (Win XP Mode) require installation from Microsoft's website. Some software might be incompatible with 64bit - you can run it in virtual Win XP Mode.

Pros:Easy to install, easy to use, nice new Windows features.
Comment:
If you're still on Windows XP, it's time to upgrade! Windows 7 loads faster, looks nicer and has a lot of new and better features.Make sure your system meets the minimum requirements for this 64bit operating system.

Microsoft Windows 7 Professional 64-bit 1-Pack for System Builders
Cons: - Price

Pros: - Stable- Fast- Support for SSD Drives
Comment:
Having been on Vista for the past 2 years, Windows 7 seems to be way more polished. Everything just feels better and works. No crashes other than the infamous 0x7e BSOD, but that is likely due to some weird combination of nvidia drivers and my blu-ray drive/software.I like the new file sharing account group, works fine with a windows 7 starter on my netbook. Reminds me of how easy file sharing used to be like in the old days. No idea on sharing with a different OS, might be an issue for some, I never tried it yet.SSD support (according to the internet) I don't pretend to understand the details. But it is a plus.Overall a highly recommended product.

Microsoft Windows 7 Professional 64-bit 1-Pack for System Builders
Cons: None

Pros: Stable - I have not had a single crash on my recently built gaming rig. I really like this OS, if your still using Vista, you should upgrade. I bought this for my new built rig and it has been running flawlessly.
Comment:
This isn't really a "NEW OS", just really a refresh of what VISTA should of been. However this OS is really nice! I highly recommend it.
