Western Digital WD20EARS Caviar Green 2TB SATA 3 64MB Cache 3.5IN Hard Drive OEM
Cons:Speed
Pros:Lots of Storage SpacePriceQuiteReliable brand Comment:
I own this along with 3 other WD drives currently in my system.I use this one as a storage drive only and that's what its designed for. Its not a speed deamon, but it still not a slouch either and you cant beat the price per GB ratio.I only buy WD drives now after having several bad experiences with Maxtor and Seagate. After 3 years so far no troubles and two of the drives are almost constantly reading and writing 24/7.If you want speed with good storage, look at the WD 1TB Blacks. They do run warmer and search noise is louder but perform well. |

Western Digital WD20EARS Caviar Green 2TB SATA 3 64MB Cache 3.5IN Hard Drive OEM
Cons:none so far
Pros:Perfect drive for storage, quiet, low power consumption. Comment:
I bought this drive as a storage solution for a htpc i have been working on, i must say nothing beats the price of this drive for the amount of space available. I relaly like western digital's 3 year warranty, it really shows how comitted to customer service. I have been really lucky for all the wd drives i have bought i've never had a failure (knock on wood) |

Western Digital WD20EARS Caviar Green 2TB SATA 3 64MB Cache 3.5IN Hard Drive OEM
Cons:average transfer times
Pros:Price, performance, storage capacity Comment:
great drive for the money, huge amount of space, quiet and affordable, great for storing massive amount of Hi-Q image textures or print media files, uncompressed video clips and CG render files or whatever else. Great for pairing up in raid as massive storage rack. The transfer rates are nothing to sing about but for what its supposed to do, its excellent. thumbs up! |

Great cheap way to get some extra storage. I wouldn't use it to run an OS. Just to store files. |

This hard drive is nice for the price and amount of storage you get. It isn't as fast as the caviar blacks, but is very good for storage and backups. |

Western Digital WD20EARS Caviar Green 2TB SATA 3 64MB Cache 3.5IN Hard Drive OEM
Cons:None that I can see
Pros:FastQuietDoesn't run very hot Comment:
Bought one of these to replace another hard drive that I was sure was starting to fail. I have 5 of these drives now. Three of them are the 1.5 TB size. I bought this on sale for $79.99. Now that the SSD drives are the new fad these just keep droping in price every week. Can't go wrong for $79.99. I was copying about 600 gigs of data over last night and when I last checked it was writing at about 80 MB/second. That was after it was writing already for a few mins. I didn't stare at it too long. But I do love these drives. Never had one fail on me yet. The one that this replaced was an older Seagate drive that has well served its purpose! |

Western Digital WD20EARS Caviar Green 2TB SATA 3 64MB Cache 3.5IN Hard Drive OEM
Cons:Only 5400rpm (but helps with low heat)
Pros:Excellent price to size ratio ($80:2TB) with solid quality (no overheating problems like some of the 2TB drives) Comment:
I just purchased a NAS and threw 4 of these in a RAID-5 and so far it's working wonderfully. With my QNAP 4 bay that gets a solid RAID backup solution for sub $1000. I also have no worry that in the rare event a drive fails I can quickly and cheaply replace it. |

Cons:None.
Pros:Loads of storage space for a great price. Comment:
I've always liked WD HDD's and how can you pass up 2TB of storage for less than $100 and comes on sale often. This drive isn't design for OS's, but great for storage. |

Western Digital WD20EARS Caviar Green 2TB SATA 3 64MB Cache 3.5IN Hard Drive OEM
Cons:-it's a green drive so it's a bit slower but I knew that before I bought it
Pros:-Works great so far-Lots of space-Got it on sale for $69.99 Comment:
I'm using this drive with an Eagle Dock USB 3.0 external dock and it's working great so far. I was unsure whether it would work but after installing my MoBo's USB 3.0 drivers (I have the CH IV Formula) it's working like a charm. Would def buy again and probably will. |

Cons:Speed
Pros:Low PriceCapacity Comment:
Overall, very happy with these. I got them on sale from NCIX at a great price. I picked up four of them, and use them as external backups stored separately. Nice big size makes them ideal for backing up photos. Use of eSATA makes it faster than USB.Still not as fast as the Caviar Black drives. |

Great drive and size for the price. If you are using this item for backup or storage speed is not a big issue. Not ideal for a boot or main drive. |

Cons:HUGE FAILURE RATE
Pros:Cheap, huge Comment:
My drive worked great in my desktop for 2 months, then spent 4 months in a Nexstar 3 enclosure. It has now failed just like countless others.Looking for a replacement drive I read the newegg reviews and there are pages upon pages of people with failed drives.I can't bring myself to buy another one of these.1 out of 5 stars if NCIX would let me. |

Western Digital WD20EARS Caviar Green 2TB SATA 3 64MB Cache 3.5IN Hard Drive OEM
Cons:somewhat noisy
Pros:large capacity. Warranty Comment:
Excellent hard drive for multimedia storage. I have purchased a couple of these drives from NCIX in the last 2 months and thus far have been quite impressed. I have a few drives from other manufactures but I'm really starting to appreciate the value of these drives (I also have a 640GB Black for OS and programs and really like how fast it is). You really can't go wrong with this drive for multimedia storage. Would not use this drive as the main drive in a system - it's just not fast enough. |

Cons:5400rpm
Pros:Has lots of storage, is quiet. Comment:
These drives are very good for data storage for my system. Was concerned about the 5400 rpm only, but turns out it is not an issue for me. |
It is a good purchase so far. I got 1 first 1 year ago to store my movies and anime. I just got another 2 of this few months ago. All of them are working flawlessly.Hope that the coming of 3 GB will push the price even lower.(Of couse, 1 year ago I got it for 129+tax and fews months ago I got them for 74.99+tax each).
