D-Link DIR-615 Wireless Router

The router was mostly painless to set up--- took about 15 minutes. The connection and range was stronger than the previous router which was a Linksys G. I have voip and the day after installing the router found out that I couldn't dial out. I don't have time to mess with firmware and different configurations so I returned it and purchased a Linksys wrt120 N for about the same price and worked fine out of the box. I like D-link but my phone didn't..

Although the signal much stronger and faster than the DIR-614, from which I upgraded, I've been very frustrated with the fact that every time my home phone rings (2.4Ghz wireless), it interrupts my router connection and I lose my VPN connection. I've had to disconnect any phone within 20 ft of the router to prevent the signals from crossing.

Switched to this router after having a Belky G MIMO. It was often times so bad that we soon started referring to it's foibles as being 'Belkinated'. --By contrast this router has been great! I was just looking for a simple, straight-forward router.. and this one has worked plenty well. The N seems to make a difference for downloads, and some light gaming has worked out just fine for me. I don't get into the advanced setup options, but for an out of box N router I would have no problems recommending it--hard to beat, especially when on sale!

I bought this router to upgrade from a G router for gaming puposes. It works great for that purpose, but I have Broadband internet provider (highest level) and this router is not designed for that per D-Link. I didn't know that when I purchased that; it is designed for Cable provided internet. It has to be reset for broadband and it's a hassle everytime the power goes out, etc. While it works very well when it's connected and running, if I had known that, I wouldn't have purchased it. It has become such a problem, that I am seriously considering purchasing a different router. On the plus side however, technical support has been very helpful and kind (with the exception of Steven).

I find this router works much better than the G router I had. The old one kept locking up in downloading and streaming and it was imposible to get a full you tube recording. this one works fine and doesn't have thsoe problems. Very nice

had to call customer service,but they had me up and running in 5 minutes. i love the speed of this unit. i'm a gamer and it doe's the job!!

This thing is great, the only complaint I have is that a. it was a pain in the butt to set up, I had to do it manually because the directions on the package didn't work, despite the fact that I followed them exactly, but now that it's set up it works great with my computer, and b. it seems my ''mp3 player'' won't connect to the network, but that could just be something wrong with my mp3 player, not the router. Besides those two things it is working great and I love it! Thanks!

Found that encryption auto-select mode does not work right. Upgraded firmware, then my VOIP stopped working. Tried to revert back firmware, but could not. Had to modify binary file so that I could downgrade the firmware to an earlier version. Only recommend this router to geeks, with time in their hands. Lots of research in forums is required!!!

I replaced a Belkin G router with the DIR-615. I was looking for greater range and speed and have found both to be superb. I am forced to use a class A non-routable IP range due to an old print server and the Belkin comes set to a class C IP range by default. I attached the DIR-615 to my laptop and logged into it to set the router's IP address to 10.10.10.1 saved my changes and put it in place of my Belkin. This whole procedure took about ten minutes and everything on my network worked without a hitch. I have 6Meg down cable Internet access and was only able to get about 1.2Meg out of my G router while the new DIR-615 gives me mid 5Meg down loads consistently. Why did I wait so long to upgrade. One feature I like in the DIR-615 is that it will allows me to make IP reservations. The DIR-615 stays cool and I have not had any dropped connections. The D-Link DIR-615 has the best feature set for the price that I have found so far.

The 615 N router was amazingly easy to set up and works as I had hoped it would, allowing my daughters to use their laptops from their rooms.

Setup could be easier, but throughput is fast and very few disconnects so far. I would recommend this product to anyone looking for a decent N class router.

Surprisingly easy setup. I neeeded wireless to feed my Internet radio. My radio works great anywhere in the house. The price is right too. Overall an excellent buy.

this is an excellent router for any home network that is just starting out and would recommend to anyone. however, i am looking for a little more robust router, one capable of supporting Tomato firmware.

Well this product is good for the money - N type, i was in need for a router and got this one... only few hiccups are at times it needs to be reseted as it shows partial connectivity.

Easy setup. Compact box that doesn't get too warm. Good, high-speed connectivity throughout the house. Trouble free.

I must say that this is my first wireless router purchased. But for the price and features i am glad that i got it when i did. I can not believe that i have went so long without being wireless. This router has great range and the performance is great. The installation was a snap, and the step by step directions were so easy, even a cave man could do it. I highly recommend this piece of equipment.

Use in home office. Take only 10 minutes to set up following the CD guide. Performance is excellent. Tech support is poor when I asked question about not getting connected between my desktop and the laptop. Offered no advise or assistance. Told to call Microsoft.

Didn't get it to work using the CD. I call the customer service and get it to work in 10 mins.

I've owned several Belkin products which I was always very happy with. But when it came time to upgrade my old 54g router, I decided to go with the D-Link DIR-615. I know my way around routers and PCs, but I have to say that setting up the DIR-615 was a piece of cake - no technical knowledge needed. Excellent step-by-step instructions. Follow them to the letter and you can't go wrong. Rock solid since I set it up. Only ding I have is that the way the feature menus are laid out, are not the most intuitive. It may take you awhile to find the specific configuration or advanced option that you're looking for. User's guide is only minimally useful.

Great wireless router... The only complaint I have is that it required me to up date the firmware before it worked at all for me. After the firmware update it has worked wonderful.

The router was a breeze to setup, just followed the quick instruction card / wizard and had this little gem up and running. Found the new wireless network (run a couple laptops off this router) to be significantly faster and a stronger signal than the 802.11g Netgear router that it replaced. I would recommend this one even to not so savvy computer users since the wizard walks you through each step with animated instructions.

This router works great and setup is easy following the instrucions on the included CD. I use this router all over my house for my laptop and Ipod touch with no signal problems at all. It even works great in the garage and backyard. Awesome buy!
