I LOVE THIS ROUTER! It is so fast even on g\b mode. My connection dropped because their was another person with a router named ''dlink'' so i suggest you put your routers name to something else. The security is awsome, it shows who is connected, and who is trying to connect. It also includes their IP address, MAC address,computer name, and manufacturer name so you can tell. I went to my neighbors house up the street with my ihpone and I still had civerage with four bars!

I LOST 2 DAYS TRYING TO GET HELP FROM D-LINK'S TECH SUPPORT TO MAKE THIS HORRIBLE PRODUCT WORK. DO NOT WASTE YOU MONEY AND PRECIOUS TIME. I AM RETURNING THIS TONIGHT!!!!

I'm really happy with this router. D-Link's, in my experience, are really hit and miss. Some models suck ass, and others work great. This one appears to be the latter.

had this for about a week, no real complaints, works good, could be faster, but then it would probably cost more, so if you dont care much for speed, want a cheap reliable wireless router, this is it

The first one I got was DOA. I got the second one in less than a week and it worked fine. Wireless N is much faster than G or B and I was able to easily get my Xbox 360 and Wii hooked up wirelessly. Niether of those systems experience 'drops' that are sometimes typical of wireless networks. I wouldn't recommend this particular router - go with the newer router model instead. This seems prone to failure.

This router sucks. I bought it 'cuz it was cheap...and that's what it is...in more ways than one. Not only did it drop my connection constantly, eventually it just died. I called D-link for RMA...they never returned my call. The worst thing about it is they tell you they're including 'free software' to help you set everything up...''FREE Award winning Network Magic'', they tell you. Then they ask you if you want to use it...if you do they tell you to click to disconnect all your Windows control over your network. Then on the next screen they finally tell you it's a FREE TRIAL! No ''back'' button, no chance to change your mind. You have to break out of your setup and start over, uninstall their software, reconfigure your computer, and start over. D-Link sucks. I bought a LinkSys N Ultra and it's seamless...and not scams about 'free software'. Never again, DLink. Never again.

I've read many people have had problems with this router, but so far for me its been going good. I've tested it out with torrent downloading, and online gaming, and so far i haven't had any lost signals. The router was easy to set up and fast, only took me a few minutes to get it up and running. So i would recommend this to people, however if you are a hardcore gamer, then you might want to check out the DIR 625 or higher. BTW, just because it says that its 300mbps doesn't mean you will get that fast of a connection, especially wireless.

Have had two of these and both stopped working. First one, was being used as a router and for wireless, stopped after working after only a month. Due to what happened with the first one the second was setup to run only the wireless by using a seprate router. It only lasted 5 months.

This is a pretty good router. My linksys wireless g router died so I had to get a new one. It also has a nice extensive bios/setup. I also like the sleek design and the useful LED indicators on the front. For $60, it's a pretty good buy.

I've experienced very inconsistent performance with this model. During regular use (browsing, streaming music) with two wireless clients, the unit consistently hangs or has DNS problems. Configuring the unit to use openDNS alleviated the problem a little bit, but the problem is still enough of a hassle that I decided to replace it with a better one (Draytek Vigor 2910G). Maybe I got a lemon unit, but I'd recommend staying away from this one if you are in a dense wireless neighborhood, your phone or a neighbor's phone operate @ 2.4 GHz, or if you need a consistent connection. Don't even bother trying to torrent and browse do anything requiring DNS lookups with this model - it will disconnect you constantly.

i got this router when it just came out but was worht it though worlks flawleslly and is a strong perforer n tyupe is really a step up from g and a very good router.

I have had very little problems with mine. its the process of going through and getting your settings and security setup. I dont use it for IP for most of my devices. 1xbox360 (wireless for madden), 1wii (wireless), 2-4laptops (iwireless), 2PC's (1server with a dual card) on cat5 and a phone on cat5. the only problem i had was with my wii disconnecting every 5 minutes, but that is a wii problem.

Purchased this modem to replace my old 802.11G modem and upgrade to N, it does a great job routing and i have had no drop offs while running 4 comps on wireless. But the range could be a little bit better.

I see a lot of old computers and people that don't understand wireless. I run a D-Link DWL-700AP access point for my laptop and I run it unprotected (for the neighbors)on my wirelss ISP. If the wireless adaptors in your computer can't run at 300, you can't run at 300...

only one word to describe it. it SUCKS.. have had it for like 2 weeks now took a week and a half to just get it to network with all my computers to get them on a network.. it crashes any time u put to much load on it i have 4 desktops and 2 laptops and when u have then all running and do stuff the will lose connection and will have to restart it. i have a old dl link dl5 something and it works better i like dl link productions but not this one

This product was very easy to setup and use. All I had to do was follow the easy instructions and everything worked. I only use D-Link wireless network cards and switches. Jim

I'm getting rid of mine. It won't stay connected, even though one computer is 3 feet away. The software is junk. They're more interested in selling the upgrade than providing a good product.

I down grade this router on quality because there are two versions of this router. Version 1 has hardware version 1 on the UPC label. This version is a total POS to be avoided at all cost and no longer appears to be supported by D-Link. The second version has hardware version B2 on the UPC label. It is a quite capable router and has firmware updates available to comply with Draft N V2. I don't recommend ordering this item on line, since the only way to tell which is which is to look at the box, unless the seller specifies which version they are selling.

I will be returning this router shortly. I am an IT professional who has worked on many wireless networks both home and corporate. This router has given me nothing but trouble. I have had other dlink routers and previously didn't think bad of their equipment. This router however was very flaky. The WAP encryption did not work correctly with some adapters, DHCP would randomly fail to assign IP addresses, the wan connection would fail from time to time, and the wireless radio shut off or dramatically drop in strength. Some people have seem to have no problems with this unit but even dlink tech support admitted they have had trouble with this model. Buy at your own risk.

Not happy with this at all! I guess I should have been wary seeing as it was so cheap, cost wise that is. I'm a computer technician by trade, and I've had nothing but trouble with this, even after flashing it with the latest firmware. The wi-fi connection is up and down like a yo-yo! I couldn't even use the ''N'' setting, as my Palm TX wouldn't connect at all, unless I set it to ''B/G'' only. I don't recommend this unit at all...and will be returning it as soon as I can!

Good product, easy to set up. I replace my hold netgear with that one and all Wi-Fi devices connected at the first time. If you have some problem, remember to update the firmware first...

The router was easy for me to set up, and the connection signal was strong throughout my house - not easy in a town-home with three floors (the router is in the basement. However, I have had problems with the router. First, I was introducing this router into an existing network, and there were some problems getting it to recognize existing portions - it was not routing from computer to computer as it should have. Second, the DHCP server has never worked properly - sometimes it will give an address to a computer, sometimes it will not. I have only had this router a short time, so I have not finished trying to troubleshoot this. The cost of this router is a good value for an N router, and, when I am connected with this router, the connection is fast and reliable - I am not seeing the drops in connection that others are seeing. Keep in mind that I work in the computer industry, so ''easy setup'' is relative to my base of knowledge and what I am used to.

well ive had this for a few months now. No problems setting it up at all. It transfers 300mbps, however my adapter in my laptop can only recieve 54 mbps so I'm not for sure that it transfers at that speed. I think its a good mid grade router, and I would recommend it. the guys with these other reviews, It sounds like they have outdated computers and need to update. my 2 cents anyway.
