Mine does not overclock well... only achieved 4.2 with 1.275v (using H50). Temp is also a bit higher than what I expected.

This is the best CPU I've ever own, I can't believe I got mine for $215. It's an outstanding price for such a powerful CPU. I was using e8400 a 3.8Ghz and my new i5 2500k just tripled the fps on StarCraft 2 Ultra settings. I was so surprised, amazing upgrade indeed.I definitely recommend this and it's worth the upgrade. I hesitated at first, but I'm so glad I bought it.I think I got a bad one though, it's apparently rare for ones who can get a i5 2500k and oc it to 4.8ghz with low voltage. I'm at 4.4Ghz with 1.3v.

Comment:
This is awesome for its price compared to the old i5 quad. I got mine way back knowing it wont depreciate and has low doa rate so there is no harm in preparing. Unfortunately I cant use it since my motherboard of choice is not available yet so Im gonna have to keep using my tri core until it comes.

Cons: - none yet

Pros: - Really fast!- Better value than i7 series
Comment:
Bought this for gaming and it is fast! I would've spent an additional $100 for an i7 but I learned there isn't much distinguishable difference anyway.I recommend this processor.

Cons: none

Pros: Speed to price ratiounlockedQuad CoreCool
Comment:
Was very happy making this upgrade. It's by far the best CPU out there for the price. Its no contest to any other chip at the same price point in terms of speed. A good purchase for a gaming rig over the i7 2600k because it's cheaper and gaming doesn't need hyperthreading.

Comment:
This processor is fast!!! Got the K ver. for the better intergrated graphics. I paired this with a ASUS P8H67-M Evo mATX H67 LGA1155 and i easily overclocked the GPU within the Asus bios.

Cons: None, unless apps take advantage of threading.

Pros: Awsome bang for buck
Comment:
Great proc. 100$ for hyper threading for a gaming machine was not worth it imho. OC's well...worth the lil' bit xtra for unlocked multi. Sits at 1.6 ghz idle so runs quiet and cool while just surfing.

Intel Core i5-2500K 3.3GHz LGA 1155 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor
Cons: - Has VT-d disabled (used for virtualization)- You must choose between graphics or overclockability

Pros: - Easily and highly overclockable- Very fast- Low power consumption / low temp
Comment:
Great CPU and very fast, great for gaming, the +100$ model (2600K) with hyperthreading would be useful for audio/video/3D apps but not worth the extra for games.2 littles downsides :- they disabled VT-d (used in virtualization) only on models 2500K, 2600K and the first lowest i5 model.- if you want to use the integrated graphics HD3000 (which only 2500K and 2600K have) you need an H67 motherboard but will loose access to the overclock feature, otherwise you get P67 motherboard to overclock but cannot use the integrated graphics.

Cons: None - this cpu is awesome!

Pros: Really really fast!! Easy to OC and the temps good.Did I mention it's fast!
Comment:
I upgraded from an E6600 so this was a huge jump and was well worth it. This cpu is handling everything I'm throwing at it and looking for more. It has easily OC'd to 4.5Ghz with voltage around 1.225 so it could likely do more yet.If you're thinking of upgrading get this cpu, especially once Intel gets their chipset issue figured out.

i have not overclocked this thing yet as i simply haven't had to, its fast enough to run all my games at max and its great of simple every day taks such as unzipping and anything else you can think of.i am coming from a cor 2 duo, and i can tell a huge difference between that system and this onehighly recommended, |when the time comes instead of having to get a new processor, ill just simply get a new fan and overclock

Intel Core i5-2500K 3.3GHz LGA 1155 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor
Cons: Only P67 boards will allow overclocking of this chip.

Pros: More powerful than comparable AMD offerings whilst being more power-efficient.
Comment:
One of my best cpu purchases since the legendary Phenom II 555 which easily unlocked to a quad-core. I almost bought an LGA1156 i5 and am so glad that I waited for this chip to be released. I hope Intel will release the rumoured "Z68" chipset sometime soon so I purchase another 2500k and a motherboard that has both onboard video and overclocking features.

Intel Core i5-2500K 3.3GHz LGA 1155 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor
Cons: -still find it a tad bit expensive bought it for 220 dollars-but still a great deal

Pros: -great for gaming performs similar if not better to the older generation i7s that cost twice as more
Comment:
I chose this over the i7 2600k because its about 100 dollars cheaper and i couldn't really justify the 100 dollar cost with no increase in performance, or rather a really small gain in performance. Best cpu for gaming atm.

Cons: No HT but that's not really a weakness

Pros: - Blazing fast even without OC- OCs like no tomorrow- Good price
Comment:
If anything defines best price for performance, it's this CPU. It's on par with most of the 1366 i7's, for a lesser price too.

Intel Core i5-2500K 3.3GHz LGA 1155 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor
Cons: No hyper-threading. But if you want that, pay $100 more for the i7-2600K. Not necessary for most uses, really.

Pros: Great performance, super fast, low power consumption at idle. Best CPU bang for buck for sure on the market right now. Integrated GPU (HD 3000 in the 2500K, HD 2000 in the 2500) performs well.
Comment:
Great CPU, got it on sale right after release. Runs cool with stock cooler (ambient temp in room 21 C, CPU temp at idle is 23-24C). Peak temp at 58 C with stock cooler. At idle, my H67 motherboard, no discrete graphics card system with this CPU is drawing just 27 watts. Amazing power savings on these newer CPUs. My old P4 3 Ghz system draws about 130 watts at idle for comparison.Gets me 7.6/7.9 in the Windows Experience Score. Integrated HD 3000 graphics gives me 6.3 in the score - not half bad for and integrated GPU.

Comment:
I upgraded from a q8200 to this thing and I just can't believe how much better my games run now. GTA IV just runs like a dream now, I've gotten almost a 50% performance increase on all games. My GTX 460 is like a whole different card now, overclocked to 4ghz no sweat, probably will do more once I get a better cooler. The Hyper TX3 cooler i bought with this just doesn't quite cut it.
