Easily overclocked.Wonderful performance. May possibly be on the pricey side if you're utilised to a definitely budget create like I was. With an MSI P67A-G45 motherboard I overclocked the CPU nearly suitable off the bat to four.two GHz and it is steady as a rock.CM Hyper 212 heatsink/fan has kept it in the 30-40 range whilst overclocked.

Cons:None

Pros:Amazing performance, stays cool
Comment:
This CPU is a beast. On most applications that don't emphasize multi-thread/multi-core, this CPU will blow off doors everything that AMD and 1st gen and the majority of 2nd gen Intel CPUs has to offer. Top 4 on all benchmarks in AIDA64 (Everest). In summary: Worth it. Get it.

Pros:Easy to overclock, handles it well

Have had no problems so far, even when I just tested overclocking. Running in turbo mode and I'm getting low temperatures 35 C. Not gaming with it though so not sure on the temps there.

Haven't had a problem with this CPU so far, but I haven't been doing intensive stuff actually! I probably just watch some 1080p movies at most, not many games, and use Photoshop CS4.Everything works fine!

Just as everyone says, it overclocks like a champ. Mine is running at 4.3 Ghz at 44 C on a Asus P8P67 Pro mobo, mid-tower case, NZXT Hale 650 watt PSU and 4gb Ripjaws at 1600 with a SSD & 500 GB backup drive. The cpu flies. High quality all around. Matched with a power saving mobo, you get much more power and a smaller electric bill! Quad core goodness, high reliability and a windows WEI rating at 7.5 (at stock speed) - Thanks Intel for giving us the K series and not forgetting us hardware tweakers. Included CPU cooler/fan was pretty impressive, best stock cooler/fan I've ever observed with a CPU. Finest value/performance ratio presently on the industry. Cons? Wow I can't come up with one particular. No Hyperthreading but its not needed. Doesn't come with a high finish thermal paste. Can't intel dream up some whackey space gel or gold based synthetic paste?? Nonetheless smaller quibbles on a otherwise impressive cpu. With tweaking and a advanced push/pull drag CPU cooler setup or going water/coolant some persons have pushed four.9 Ghz with this cpu, with minimal voltage raise. Extremely advised for future proofing and it's acceptable value.

Intel Core i5-2500K 3.3GHz LGA 1155 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor
Cons:I personally don't like the stock heatsink & the way it mounts, but I'm sure most already use aftermarket heatsinks.

Pros:Great performance/price ratio :)
Comment:
No problems. Some may notice there is an uneasy sound when pushing the lever back down on the socket retention mechanism - not sure if its the pins or the mobo that makes the sound like you've just ruined your mobo or cpu. Not knockin the product, just a headsup :)

Intel Core i5-2500K 3.3GHz LGA 1155 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor
Cons:none at all

Pros:easy to overclock
Comment:
Incredibly easy to OC to at least 4.2GHz with just a few mouse clicks if you have a half decent motherboard. It seems that PC games are much more GPU demanding now, nothing I've played on my PC or done with it really stresses this CPU at all. I don't see myself upgrading my CPU until many years down the road when it's time for a new PC completely.

Intel Core i5-2500K 3.3GHz LGA 1155 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor
Cons:I got it for $219.99. 2 weeks later it was down to 189.99 during boxing day. Oh well, not really a con.

Pros:Runs fast, performs as well as anticipated. Would probably last for awhile. I call him the "Shrek" because its a monster when paired with an asus p8p67 pro motherboard.
Comment:
I've been wanting to build with this processor for awhile now. I haven't overclocked it yet however, will be doing that in the future. Still using the stock cooler since the system basically handles everything I throw at it... Except water.

Intel Core i5-2500K 3.3GHz LGA 1155 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor
Cons:No Hyperthreading

Pros:Overclocks like madPrice
Comment:
I did a lot of research into what processor gives you the best bang for your buck, and you better believe that this one is it! It is seated in my ASUS Maximus IV GENE-Z and paired with 8GB Corsair DDR3-1600 Vengeance RAM. I have successfully OC'd my 2500K to 4.8GHZ (I am using a Corsair H60 to keep it cool) and could probably squeeze a bit more out of it. Depending on when you buy, you can generally find this processor $100 less than the 2600K (I picked mine up for $199.99). Hits 7.9 on the Windows Index. Fairly easy to OC (there are many guides you can find online, even specific to your motherboard).Highly recommended.

Intel Core i5-2500K 3.3GHz LGA 1155 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor
Cons:Heatsink is useless

Pros:Value and performance
Comment:
Let me begin by saying this is a great processor. For 100$ less than the i7 platform, its also great value. To begin, the heatsink comes with some thermal paste pre-applied. I personally removed this for some noctua paste out of personal preference. Further, I would highly recomend replacing the stock heatsink due to the fact that the pin system used to hold it in place is very flimsy and has already de-clipsed resulting in the cpu temps reaching 80 degrees...I purchased and paired this with an asus p8z68-v pro MB for my dad's new system alongside some corsair vengence ram and a hyper x 120gb SSD drive. Let me say that this processor is a clear upgrade over the i5 750 I have in my system. The 2500k system runs a good 10 degrees cooler with the stock fan than my i5 does clocked at 3.2ghz with a noctua heatsink.

Intel Core i5-2500K 3.3GHz LGA 1155 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor
Cons:Would be nice to get the extra 2MB cache and hyper-threading like the 2600K, but is also costs ~$100 less.

Pros:Great value, unlocked multiplier, runs cool and great performance.
Comment:
This is an excellent processor. Was waiting out for Sandybridge-E, but wasn't very impressed, the performance gains wasn't enough in my opinion for the extremely higher cost. Was thinking about the 2600K, but decide to save the extra bit of cash, I'm guessing I wouldn't have seem much of an improvement.

Intel Core i5-2500K 3.3GHz LGA 1155 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor
Cons:-not hexa-core? (not really a con, just needed to find a con in an otherwise perfect product at this point in time)-price hasn't gone down much for the past year

Pros:-fast-easily OC'd-quiet at idle
Comment:
Fast, efficient (until Ivy Bridge supplant it) and sadly, the best value at this price point. You won't regret it.

straightforward install, quite rapid, no require to overclock however but it is nice to have the ability to. N/A Because gamers really dont will need the hyperthreading, that makes this processor probably the finest choice for a gaming processor at a reasonable 200 bucks.

Pros:Great performanceRuns pretty coolGood OC potential
Comment:
This has to be one of the best CPU I've ever had. Compared to my previous one (E8400 OCed w 3.75Ghz) each individual cores run 80% faster and 20-25C lower (with an OK cooler: Corsair A70).I haven't felt the need to OC it yet since it's not the bottleneck in any games I've played so far but I'm sure it will OC pretty well.
