Best CPU in the Price/Performance catagory.Properly outperforms an AMD x6 for the identical price tag.Simply OCs really high, i only have mine at four., but I know i could get that greater. nothing at all actually. should have released at like four.4GHz, the only cause it didnt is to keep their other items relevant, which they actually arent anymore. i5-2500k @ 4GHzAsus p8p67-m proCM N520 Cooler8GB of GSkill Ripjaws @ 1600MHz1GB XFX 58702 500GB WD Blacks in Raid Corsair HX650all in a custom modded Raidmax Altas case.

Pros:Best bang for buck gaming processor

This processor is really the cream of the crop. Amazing out of box speeds, incredible overclocking potential with after market fans. The retail heatsink is basic, but good for non overclocking. My first one was able to hit 4.5 stable easily. The second one I have at stock speeds and still handles games easily, and the third I just bought hit 4.2 with no troubles on a cheaper motherboard. A+ from Intel.

Amazing CPU wonderful worth. Excellent for overclocking!!! Quad core is fantastic for gaming, hyperthreading is not worth one hundred further dollars in my opinion. Don't hesistate Obtain IT! ...nope It is really only three.6GHZ with turbo boost, not 3.7 as title states, but who in fact requirements turbo boost with an unlocked processor???

Fast, Effortlessly overclocks though the roof. Runs WoW, Workplace 2003 and 2007 and Crysis like champ.I occasionally Multi-box WoW - I can run 3 WoW sessions/toons at as soon as and still have YouTube and Media Player all running at the exact same time (on dual monitors with 8 Gig of Ram and an ASUS GTX 460. None I went with the XIGMATEK Gaia SD1283 for cooling given that I knew I wanted to go a tiny closer to the edge with my OverClocking (why get the 2500k if you're not going to OC, ideal?). Running at four.5 (sedate, I know) it never ever even gets Warm. The chip runs actually truly cool even when overclocked. I'm positive the cooler is playing it's element but in hindsight, I'm not confident I necessary it.

The price to performance ratio can't be beat. At this value point there's nothing at all more quickly and less difficult to overclock. It's extremely quickly, runs cool and is great all around. None I have this installed in a Gigabyte P67A-UD3 with a Hyper 212+ and was in a position to overclock it to four.5GHz without a difficulty. This factor LAUGHS at me as I attempt to come across anything that can lag it. Only the moment have I observed it go above 33% usage, and that was multitasking with the no cost game in the background. Or was it Civilization... can't keep in mind. Bottom line is that it is great. Can't come across a heatsink with a flat best that I could cook breakfast on... I wonder what Haswell will bring...

Put together a gaming rig. My fellow gamers recommended I go with this since it can be easily overclocked. There really is no need for an i7 since you have the option to overclock and can match / surpass i7 speeds. Overall, I am very satisfied with this purchase.

I was contemplating a 2600k, but for 贄 much more it actually isn't worth it for 1-two% overall performance difference for gaming. Add 贄 to your GPU budget instead, and there you will notice a a lot larger efficiency increase. NONE!

Apart from being "unlocked & unleased", Sandy Bridge "K" chips have GMA HD 3000 ྫྷ EU) vs. 2000 Ɩ EU) which should give far better graphics performance if your mobo chipset (e.g. Intel H67) has the solution of making use of integrated graphics in lieu of an add-in card. Except for a few diagrams of a LGA1155 socket, the "owner's manual" is a complete waste of paper. Ideas for IntelɅ) extract the diagrams of how to place the CPU in a socket and offer them on 1 or 2 pages;two) replace the other 99.9% of the booklet (in a lot more languages than I can count) with link(s) to the applicable web site(s) -- which is about all it's attempting to inform you in the initially spot;three) use that 1ǚ" space in the box and the funds you save on paper to give a "free" anti-static wrist band and a micro-tube of thermal compound.

An affordable processor that shines in gaming. While it may not be as fast the i7, the average user (even most enthusiast gamers) will not even need it. This thing is cheap and great at what it is supposed to do.
