great CPU for the money and the most recommended CPU by the gaming community, only downside is the lack of hyperthreading, but its overclockability makes up for that.

Doubled my ingame frames with just the processor install. Good Price for such a wonderful upgrade. Heat! Bios reads 50 degrees from a cold start with the stock heatsink. I figured this was going to be a challenge so I wiped off the stock thermal paste and put some good stuff on just before installing and it nevertheless started at 50 degrees. I would have paid additional $$ for a heatsink that truly kept it cool. I dont like space heaters in my home.

Pros:overclocks like a beast, great bang for the buck, low power consumption
Comment:
This is the best gaming cpu for the money on the market, period. With a decent cooler, this chip can easily reach 4.5GHz and even above 5GHz if you are lucky. I would recommend this any day over the AMD fx-8130.

General, Sandy Bridge CPUs and this one particular in distinct are a quantum leap forward in a lot of elements. This chip is no different. Plain and basic, this bad boy can handle anything that you throw at it and additional. It also runs extremely cool beneath my ThermalTake Frio. Even beneath anxiety, it hasn't gotten hotter than 118 degrees F. Pretty impressive.I employed this to replace a Core two Duo setup and have noticed a Large improvement. Was only able to get the chip to three.8GHz stable. This could be my fault though, so I'm not ready to take an egg off of such a superior item. The value/performance ratio on this chip is awesome. I was able to get mine from a brick n' mortar store for about โ cheaper than the 'egg. So Search around.I liked the chip/MB so substantially that I bought an i3 to upgrade 1 of my servers.ASUS p8p67-PRO MBCore i5-2500k CPUG.Ability 1600 DDR3 RipjawsAntec 900 case2x1TB WD Black in Raid

Intel Core i5-2500K 3.3GHz LGA 1155 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor
Cons:- Only 4 cores- Pricier than an AMD FX-8120 which is 8 cores.- LGA 1155 boards are expensive.- Ivy Bridge integrated graphics will be superior.

Pros:- Very fast.- Very Overclock-able.- TDP is 95W but barely ever gets passed 75-80.- Great temps.- Low memory latency. - Unlocked multiplier....UNLOCKED.- HD 3000 has potential.
Comment:
First off this processor is fast. Very fast. It loads up my OS in 20 seconds and I'm only using a SATA 2 HD...can't wait to drop  an SSD in. The 2500k is also incredibly overclock-able, even with stock cooling. Currently i have it at 4.7 GHz simply by raising the multiplier to 47 and turning on Dynamic vcore to +0.1. And thanks to the unlocked multiplier, the BCLK can stay at 100 and maintain stability. TDP is 95 watts but it rarely exceeds 80w on stock frequencies. The temps are also very good on stock frequencies, with all the power saving technologies on it usually runs at 25c idle and 70c at load, which is far below its TJ MAX of 98c. The memory latency is also incredibly fast in this CPU, thanks to the built in memory ...i got about 41ns. the built in graphics are at stock, mediocre at best. Good for gaming at low resolutions and low settings, but nothing to write home about. But overclocked they have much more potential. With an added 0.1v to the GPU i can overclock it to over 2000mhz, that's almost 3x the speed. At these speeds it performs surprisingly well in games and media applications, and often beats Nvidia and AMD's low profile graphics cards.

Not much to say. You hit or miss with how much yours can overclock. Mine seems to start hitting instability around the 4.5 mark if prime 95 is run, otherwise it works great!

Cons:NONE

Pros:Fast, easily overclockable, Intel
Comment:
Got this clocked up to 4.8ghz and am super happy with that. Was a AMD fanboy but will never go that route again, this cpu stomps my ex-AMD. Only reason i jumped ship was i've had enough lagging, unable to clock up and the motherboard pooped out (Gigabyte gerrr). But was the best thing that could have happened. Was torn between this and the i7 2600k, but this was the best bang for the buck.

Comment:
Lost count on how many of them I got so far. These are great for just about anything you throw at them. I used them in workstations, gaming and everyday tasks machines. The onboard HD 3000 is actually pretty damn good from what I've seen. That can always come in handy when ever your dedicated GPU is on the fritz lol.

Yet another review to add to the pile of people raving about this processor. This is an amazing processor for the money - I recommend it without hesitation. It's damn fast out of the box, fast enough for any game you could want at the moment, and it's a cinch to make it even faster since it overclocks so easily.I can't comment on the stock fan, since I upgraded to a Hyper 212 Evo out of the box.

If you don't need hyper threading then this is a great CPU. The price is very good too. I easily overclocked mine to 4.3GHz while maintaining decent temps and voltage. I got this for my gaming rig and so far it has been perfect for my needs.

Great value ... 89% of persons gave it 5 star rating so clearly they knocked this 1 out of the park. Excellent luck keeping up AMD. Normally Intel's rates are not almost as competative as AMD. They clearly worked that out, nothing to complain about here. P8P67񳖴kCorsair A70MSI gtx 570 OC

Intel Core i5-2500K 3.3GHz LGA 1155 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor
Cons:Intel, contrary to AMD, holds prices on CPUs as long as the products remain current.

Pros:Fast, the current sweet spot Intel CPU, good enough integrated graphics
Comment:
I was expecting high computing performance and the CPU meets expectations. The nice surprise is the integrated graphics. They are perfectly adequate for non-gaming uses and work very well in HTPC applications. The Intel driver and control panel allows to easily set custom resolutions. I was certain I would have to add a discrte video card, but now I think I will keep running the system on Intel graphics (gasp!)

I just switched from the amd x6 1055T and it is different. But I really like the intel chip it is faster but more expensive. I lost 2 cores but I don't mind because nothing uses 6 cores these days.
