This is my 2nd Intel Core i5 2500K, and It's currently the best processor out there in terms of price to performance, as much as I love AMD this thing will easily out perform even the Bulldozer processors with ease in the vast majority of circumstances..And the overclocking capabilities are awesome, you are literally guaranteed 4.5GHz no matter what. In the past I've had it at 4.70GHz Prime 95 Small FFT's 12Hrs stable..Really with it overclocked you'll easily have one of the fastest systems out there without having to invest lots of money.. Even though It is lacking hyper threading really for most usage scenario's you won't notice a difference between this and the 2600K, unless you do video encoding, but even then In my opinion this is more then enough for most people.

Cons:Didn't realize the new Ivy Bridge CPUs were coming out so soon.

Pros:Easy to install, easy to overclock. If you want some power saving features you can leave Intel Turbo on and let it boost the CPU to your overclock when needed.Big difference in gaming from an older AMD build.

I have this CPU in my new system built entirely by NCIX, and I must say that I was glad I purchased this. I haven't even overclocked it yet, and like mentionned, it is huge jump from my last CPU E6600 y 3.0GHz!

Echoing these who reviewed before: THE Ideal GAMING CPU ON THE Marketplace Currently. If a noob can OC this CPU, so can you! The heatsink fan is garbage. It ought to only be regarded as in the non-K CPUs. Intel could take away it, lessen expenses and enhance demand b/c the buyer would have to invest an extra ฤ-30 on an aftermarket cooler. the junk heatsink doesn't offset what this cpu can do. you don't need to have the 2600k unless you plan on some critical multithreading tasks. other than that this cpu will set you up for various years.

Got it to run at 4.4 GHz at stock voltage. I still don't think it. No hyper threading, but who requires it at four.four Ghz? Stock cooler does will need to be changed for a thing bigger.

Pros:powerful, good price to CPU power, good overclocking results
Comment:
For quad core cpu's, this is possibly one of the best you can get for performance to price. right out of the box it can be overclocked to 4.2 easily and with the stock cooler. This should be on your list if your going to build a budget gaming rig or just a budget workstation.

A bit pricey for a budget build but it has built in graphics and I could overclock it to get more performance for the buck. Works good so far, reliable overclock at 4.3ghz and video works as expected. Would recommend.

Intel Core i5-2500K 3.3GHz LGA 1155 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor
Cons:-Ivy bridge is just around the corner ;)

Pros:-it's the best performance for cost cpu out there-overclocks VERY easily from stock 3.3 to 4.0gHz+ even on stock cooling
Comment:
If you buy this cpu, overclock, overclock, OVERCLOCK. That's the whole point of the "K" in the name! Far better than competitor processors that are priced similarly. While I would recommend this processor normally, with the news of intel Ivy bridge just around the corner, it's hard to justify the purchase. If you want to make a computer now, this processor is a great mixture performance and value.

Comment:
This is one of the best chips for price/performance out there right now. I used to be an AMD fanboi, I'll admit, they made some great processors. Now though, this one is highly prized by many, as a very fast processor for a good price, with lots of overclocking headroom (I did not OC any of these, I never do OCing, but that's what I've heard...)

Being an AMD fan for a long time, trying this intel chip worried me a little....but after a friend convinced me to try it all i can say is wow.....absoutly amazed me for a 4 core processor. i have mine overclocked to 4.5 GHz, fully stable, all day long. runs any game i trow at it on max settings with no problems, and posts some realy nice benchmarks for a 4 core processor. also even at 4.5 it runs nice and cool. curently i have a Coolit systems ECO keeping it cool, and i have never seen it break 62 C even after 2 hours of prime 95. I highly recommend it for almost any build!

Intel Core i5-2500K 3.3GHz LGA 1155 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor
Cons:none

Pros:Budget-minded, Extremely overclockable
Comment:
I bought this CPU used, knowing it was a great overclocker. An inexpensive after-market air cooler will do just fine but I went with a cheap self-contained water cooling unit. Overclocking was a breeze up to 4.8Ghz. Just for sh*ts and giggles, I tried for 5.2 Ghz but couldn't get it to stay stable without feeding it nearly 1.5V which I obviously wasn't comfortable with. It would boot in Windows 7 but would crash during prime95. I was hitting nearly 80C. Intel recommends staying below 73C. After spending a couple evenings toying with this CPU trying to find a stable OC, I decided to back off and clock it at 4.5Ghz for everyday use. It's running stable and scores 7.8 out of a possible 7.9 according to Windows Experience Index. Even if you're not extremely tech savvy, I highly recommend buying the 2500K. Within minutes, you can have it running stable at 4.5Ghz. As far as I'm concerned, this CPU is the best bang for the buck by a long shot. I hope to see more like this in the future from Intel :)

Killer proper out of the box but there's so considerably much more just waiting to be unlocked.Multiplier OCing is seriously the way to go, forget raising the FSB and hoping your components are up for the challenge.Operating 4.5ghz at 1.26v (this is my beneath load voltage reading while vdroop is in impact).I consider this could be a fortunate chip to be stable at 4.five with such low voltage (or at least slightly fortunate). And you get the energy savings of a 32nm processor even though idle (if you leave all the power saving on like me). Enthusiast efficiency on one particular side and scrooge-like frugality on the other all although getting reasonably priced ... this chip is excellent. Positive it has integrated video but for that you'd will need a H67 chipset motherboard. But if you want to overclock you have to get a P67 chipset. As you know the integrated video doesn't work on a P67 and you can\'t overclock on a H67.It will also help some other chipset but you truly don't want to waste a K series processor on that business class platform.Yes the Z chipset is coming but for that you'll have to wait for months. I for 1 would like to have the integrated video as a backup in case my video card fails. If it weren't for he onboard video I could just buy a motherboard that has integrated video and nonetheless overclock it but... Gigabyte GA-P67A-UD3-B3Corsair XMS3 4gbMSI HD4850R 512GBAntec True Energy Trio 430Mugen II Rev B coolerfour.5ghz stable at ㅵc with the case open (I have a hot operating case).Yes I'm running a 4.5ghz quad core on a 430 watt energy supply, no problem.I have to say I'm impressed by this product. I've been using AMD for more than 10 years and still like AMD, but Intel is lastly on top rated in terms of price/performance. I'm so impressed that they can deliver a item of this caliber for so affordable a price tag. I am a convert for the time becoming.

Pros:Fast, Cost effective, over-clocks really well, built to game
Comment:
Upgraded from an intel e8400 at 4.5ghz to the i5 2500k at 4.5ghz, paired with 16gb of corsair vengeance ram, and seated in the asrock extreme3 gen3 mobo. Night and day difference. I am using the same video card(amd radeon 5850) and performance in games has over doubled, so to those wondering how much difference upgrading to the i5 2500k from an older cpu/memory would make, its significant. I could not previously play BF3 due to micro-stutters, it is now smooth running everything all on high 16xAA. Intel has really hit it out of the park with this one. It is a must buy, especially when its on sale for $210.

I just popped this puppy in my system with an Asus P8Z68-V GEN3 motherboard. Oh my, quite a difference from my Gigabyte 890FXA-UD5 board and X6 1090T I had. The 2500k is offering me a 30-40 percent speed improvement in all of my games. This CPU is honestly the best bang for the buck currently available. If you want a processor to pair with your midrange to high end video card, you have found it. If you do not own this, you are missing out. I give it 5 stars all the way.

Pros:Extremely Fast I get a 4.4ghz overclock never goes higher than 75 degrees with no hiccups, and im using the stock cooler, which I don't recommend, just waiting on some cheaper deals. Get a 1.78 in cinebench for single core usage which is great for gamers.
Comment:
If your looking for something that will last you a very long time and is also "future proof" this is the way to go. For me the 2600K is too pricey for the added hyperthreading technology.
