COOLER MASTER Hyper 212 Plus RR-B10-212P-G1 120mm sleeve CPU Cooler
Cons:-fan is a little on the loud side

Pros:-cheap ($wise)-easy to install-direct touch-great performance
Comment:
highly recommended.. best bang for the buck.i'm running an i7 930, stock cooler was a POS, 50C idle; 100C load. after installing the hyper, im now at 35C idle; 75C full load.

Keep things cool
Comment:
This kept my CPU running extremely cool. It's very quiet, even quieter than the regular circle based heatsinks and fans. Just make sure you have enough room in your case. Any case with a side window fan in the center gets in the way. Make sure the fan is lower or to the front or back. Dead center was an issue.

cool!
Comment:
so close to fitting my case! just the copper tips of the pipes are hanging out! oh well, looks pretty sweet with the newly cut holes :D this fan sure does the job though, processor doesn't even begin to break a sweat

Great product, crappy instructions
Comment:
The instructoins are just awfull. Take the fan off before attaching to cpu. Brackets are awkward, slide them through the pipes before lowereing, being careful not to let the pin jump out of the hole in the block. Don't be a hero, yank the MoBo to install back plate. This may even be classified as a two person job. However, it currently sits atop an E8400 clocking at 4.1, and hasn't gotten over 47 Degrees sustained full load. It may be hard to install, but it works perfectly...so 5's across the board.

good, but unusual size
Comment:
This works fine after getting it installed, but it doesn't fit your typical tower. I had to make some ugly customization to the tower I had. Make sure you get a suitable size tower if you purchase this.

CoolerMaster FTW
Comment:
Cools very well. It lowered my i7 920 by 4-6C under load. Includes brackets to install a 2nd fan for push-pull setup.

Well worth the hype
Comment:
Cools my older Q6600 and cannot hear it at all. Replaced a Zalman 9700 whose fan was having a heart attack - and dropped the temps a few degrees accross the board (2C at idle and 8C on load).

Best cooler for the price and performance
Comment:
This cooler delivers performance like coolers that cost way more. I got this when moving from my old E7400 to my new E8400 and me E8400 appreciates it so much. I'm at 3.6GHz and not breaking mid-50s in Orthos CPU stress test or mid-60s in Linpack. That's amazing. Recommend that you throw away the paper manual that comes with it and check out CoolerMaster's video on how to install it, available on Youtoob.

good product
Comment:
I have been using this cooler since October, and it works well. There is nothing wrong with the mounting as in some of the other reviews. Yes, you do have to use a plate under the mobo to mount, but push pins would be pretty cheesey for an upgraded fan. Only problem I have encountered is that it is tall and I cant put the side panel on my case. Oh well, time for a new case!

Exceptional cooler but mounting sucks
Comment:
Cools a quad core i7 860 on a Gigabyte GA- P55-UD3R board quite well. Idles at 27c and 45c under load using prime 95. This is only 4 degrees less at idle but 21 degrees less under load than the stock cooler. Overclocked temps are around 55c at 3.4 ghz. The fan is quiet, even at full speed. Probably will not fit small and mid sized cases. Mounting system sucks bad. Unless you install this when you build a pc, you need to remove the mobo. Base was square and flat. Gaps between the pipes and base are small but I filled them with paste anyway. One pipe had a small dent where it contacts the processor. The base could have been polished better but this is what you get for this price. This has been rated in the top 10 for coolers. Used a silver thermal paste instead of what was supplied.

Good Product
Comment:
For the price can't beat it. Keeps cpu and entire MOBO cool. A little big but no problems.

Can't beat it for the price
Comment:
Great heat-sink. I was a little concerned about how the base makes contact with the CPU; there's a slight gap between the heat-pipes and the aluminum. It turns out not to be an issue. I just put thermal compound in strips on the tree middle aluminum grooves (between the heat pipes). My i5 barely heats up at all, even overclocking.

The good and the bad
Comment:
This is good, not great. its difficult to mount, since a metal brace has to go under the MB. The fan is sort of difficult as well. Other than that, it works great! keeps my i5 nice and cool, even when playing crysis!

Giant Heatsink can run 2 x 120 mm Fans if needeed
Comment:
I put this on a new Asus P55D 1156 scocket. enough room even if you want to pin another 120 mm fan on the reverse side. on my I5 its running at 766 rpm. the mounting is a new type to use several sockets types, works well, but I put extra small insulators on the back side of the board. never put a nut on top of a circuit board. that can break throug the insulation due to a warped board or What.

BigCooler,BigFan, Bad Design for Mounting the Fan!
Comment:
Great Fan and Cooler It keeps my E4700 2.6ghz CPU(O.C. to 3.0ghz)at 25*C and my Motherboard at 37*C. The mounting for the Fan sucks. Once you find a way to mount it you will be fine. Otherwise I love this CPU Cooler!
