This router has worked out great for me. In spite of a few connection drops here and there, it works has worked flawlessly. It was my first router, so once i figured out all the lingo in the setup, setup was a breeze.Would easily recommend this router.

My unit set up easily and worked fine out of the box. I began having problems when I tried to make setup changes. The unit refuses to save certain changes. I disabled wireless and it refused to restart. The unit refused to save the change but rather would just reboot each time without the change being made. I called support and had the same language problems that others have reported. After a lot of seemingly random playing around the unit finally began to allow wireless to be turned off and back on again. I added a new network printer and attempted to add a static address to the routers address reservation table and the unit once again refused to accept the change. I called tech support (language issues again)who were unable to get it working and suggested I update firmware and hung up. Firmware also refuses to load and the wireless cannot be started again. Based on the good reviews from others I have ordered an exchange unit and will see how it goes.

I've been an owner of this DIR-655 router for almost a month and I highly recommend this for online gamers. There are several security features provided that allow you to choose the computers that can connect to the router. There's the QOS engine that allow you to configure which apps have priority over others. Finally the Draft N and 4x 1 Gigabit ports are just awesome for LAN activities.

This router has the most functionality of any home wired-wireless router. I have had three different brands - this one is superior! Great product for experienced and novice alike.

This router works as a router should. Have had no drop outs since I installed it. The speed is about as expected. Old router would disconnect and connect to cable modem several times a day (this was not apparent in the operation, just the router log). This router has done this only one time in two weeks (caused by power outage). The setup is very different from previous D-link products I have had; however had no trouble installing it.

Bought one of these a year ago for home, it made our DSL faster, and last month bought another one for the office. Easy to install, excellent range, and blazing fast!

Had this unit for two months before it started to randomly reboot itself. I had this same unit returned, fixed, and it still happened again. I would stay away from this router, if you google this you will see that this is a frequent issue with this model.

This D-Link DIR-655 router performs extremely well for hardcore internet browsing and downloading. The D-Link DIR-655 has a superb connection for online gaming like xbox live. It is easy to setup for a mac; I found it kind of tedious and time consuming to setup on the PC. The security features are simple on the configuration page. The D-Link DIR-655 wireless router is an exceptional router with a performance that will not disappoint.

i have had this router for about a year and it works fantastic. i have 4 pc's running 1000 mbps through ethernet and 4 laptops running on wifi between 2 apts. and have not had a problem ever

It will be very hard to beat this router for anything close to this cost. Works over the entire house and into the boathouse down by the lake,

i had to return my first router because the wireless didnt work, this retailer took good care of me and did a swap. the new one is great! i put it near a window and can access the internet from 150 feet away while sitting on my hammock, my son does online gaming from his room 2 floors away and the signal strength is outstanding.

A better router than this one will cost at least twice as much. I knew the wireless N would be faster than my old G router, but I didn't expect the higher speeds that I'm getting from the wired connections. This is a very nice router for the price. I've seen notable improvements with streaming video and VoIP performance. I'd recommend this router to my friends. Lot's of set up options in this routers firmware should allow tweaking for almost any home or small office use. (I suspect those that have posted poor reviews for this product are not familiar with proper set up for some specific uses)

When I first got this router, I had problems with it dropping its signal every 5-10 minutes - a very common problem so it seems. The solution - I had to do a reset on the router itself. I contacted tech support who tried to be helpful but the solutions they gave me (ie. changing the channel) did not work. Frustrated, I reset the router. Has worked flawlessly ever since. I had a linksys wireless usb adapter which I believe started to go flaky. I bought the DLink DWA-160 wireless usb adapter and it has worked flawlessly. These two components make a good pair. They have excellent range and stability. Read the reviews folks, this is one of THE highest rated routers out there and is well worth the money spent. I like mine very much and will never buy linksys again.

The set up was easy, I live in a quod level home unit set up in basement low signal on top level. So I moved DLink to middle level and achieved higher speed levels. During music streaming sessions loss of signal and connects loss had happen. Currently using hardwire connection on my main computer :( At least until answer is found.

Had everything I was looking for, Gigabit Ports for media streaming from my HTPC, and wireless N. All for under $100. Easy install with the CD and you can go into the web browser configuration for more advanced options. Easily setup my home network and then the guest network for when friends come over. Worked right away out of the box no problems. I had my home network up and running in about 10-15 minutes. Great product D-Link!

My old wireless modem/router was dropping connections and had a weak signal beyond 20 feet. This new router is outstanding. Coverage is 5-bars up to 80 feet and it handles two high-speed laptops without any problems. It was easy to set up and was a great purchase.

My old dlink 624 died, so was in the market for new router. This got good reviews so got one. My new laptop is N which has excellent range compared to G. I tried using the set up disc but gave up, I thought I would try it but cancelled half way through and set up through the browser, easier. No dropped signals, hav'nt tried gaming yet but will and from what I have read it should do very well.
