This router is probably one of the best i have owned. Simple to get going stability is never a problem. I recommend this to anyone look for a quality router for their home network.

After 6 weeks, haven't seen any dropped connections to laptops with wireless G and N NIC. Range is great for wireless N and pretty darn good for wireless G. There maybe better deals out there but I did not want to mess around with cheaper models that might end up being a little flaky, so went for this one and so far I have gotten exactly what I expected: good range throughout my house; and a solid and reliable product.

I'm a 58 year-old Luddite and service mgr. for a major American battery charger manufacturer. I was reluctant to cut my trusty wired 10/100 connections and go wireless as our adult children suggested,despite my less than positive experience with an older 802.11g router. After 2 weeks of daily use with this router I'm blown away and completely satisfied. I have Road Runner cable service through a Motorola Surfboard cable modem that is mounted high on a shelf surrounded by HVAC ducting in the center of the basement of our two-story house, the p.c. is an Acer Aspire 5100 laptop with basic Vista. The slowest download speeds have been 200KB/Sec during peak hours, yet 400 to 450KB/Sec is typical. No pauses, hesitation, or hangups as I had previously experienced. These speeds and reliability remained the same in the farthest upstairs room, the deck, or anyplace on our property that one would use a wireless p.c. Outstanding! Thank you

I replaced a Linksys WRTG router (Linksys quality has gone way down hill...) with this one. I wish I had gone with DLink in the first place! I use DLink network cards and switches. This is a VERY nice router! It was easy to setup and get my wireless network back on track. I don't have "N" cards so the backwards compatibility is nice to have. I'll be looking to replace my older "G" cards with "N"'s to get the new features and speed - DLink cards of course. This is a kick butt router - the configuration options blew me away - great job DLink!

This router is hands down the best bang for the buck, and even outperforms routers that are more expensive. Set it up about a week ago and have had 0 connectivity issues, excellent speed and reliability. I have over 6 machines connected to this wirelessly, and even when activity is happening on all machines this thing performs like a champ. This is the best 100$ you will spend on networking equipment.

I upgraded this from my Linksys WR54GL wireless g router and so far this was easier to setup and configure than that. I haven't really tested the true potential of this router yet but the prioritizing feature is really nice.

Since purchasing the new D-Link router, my family of four, has had NO connectivity issues! Easy to set up and use...performance is unbeatable! (Especially if you have been using Lynksys)

I'm very pleased with this product. I did my homework and knew that I'd need a wireless router that could really put out since I'm sending the signal through floors with steel girders. My receiving computer, a terrific tiger refurbished deal, runs as fast as my duel core direct connected to the internet. Great product. Oh, the linksys wireless N PCI adapter card with antenna might also be a factor in the great reception. good pair, not the cheepest by far, but couldn't work any better together.

Bought the DIR-655 to replace a Linksys router that bit the dust after only two years (fried WAN port). The DLINK is far superior in every way, in quality, features and value. Using it on my home network with 4 PCs and 2 network devices (an iPhone and a wireless picture frame). Setup was easy, although there are some options enabled by default you probably want to turn off -- like SecureSpot (complete waste of time, IMHO). Flashed the firware up to the latest revision without issue and now using the USB port on the back of the router to share my Epson Workforce 500 printer with all my PCs. This (the shared USB network option) is a ''Killer Application'' IMO, but still a bit buggy (it's a new feature and they are releasing firmware updates regularly). In all, glad I bought this router and a great value!

Purchased this a couple weeks back after getting our a laptop. This is our first router and I was worried it would take a computer degree to set it up. Well - it was VERY easy to do. Follow the steps in the set-up wizard and you'll be up an running in 20 minutes. So far it has performed well - happy with the purchase. Great price- 30 cheaper than BestBuy.

This router ROCKS! I am familiar with computers, but not an expert. I used the disk that came with it. I did not use the Network Magic feature. The set up wizard was very straight forward. Had 3 computers, a Wii and an X-box 360 up and running on it in under 30 minutes. Not sure why others have had range issues; I get great range anywhere in my 2-story house. I like the guest feature too. FAST & SIMPLE, GREAT RANGE. Glad I bought it.

After 3 months used, I have realized that this router seldom drops connections, and it can handle two people playing world of warcraft and me playing Killzone 2 on PS3 and downloading large files.... all at once... This router has amazed me. This is the best router ive ever had and im suprised it came from D-Link. Excellent router, im upping it to a 5 out of 5 stars. The wireless works great but i get a great range of inconsistencies with the performance. Using skype on a 1 hour call for 55 minutes will be spot on but then will get a great deal of background noise. The same happens on World of Warcraft, latency is normally around 200ms same as wired, but then for no reason that i can determine will drop to around 500ms stay there for 4-5 minutes then recover back to 200ms.

I bought the gaming router and loved it. I bought this one for my parents to replace their 802.11b router. They have a cable phone and were getting dropped lines. With this router, the problem was solved. If you haven't upgraded yet, why not? The gaming router is excellent, but if you don't need the features on it, this is the next best thing!

I got this to replace my very old NETGEAR RP614v2. This is my first wireless router and I am very pleased. Set-up took 5 minutes. Mainly wanted this to stream my HD movies to my PS3 which is about 40 feet away. Signal strength on PS3 indicates 91%. Wife is happy that she can connect to the internet through her ipod touch anywhere in the house now. Top notch device.....only wish it came in black.

I have been working with PC's for over 25 years. I usually never use the setup software that comes with the product, but this time I gave a tryout. Man,the setup wizard worked flawlessly. If you need to modify the setup you can do it manually or use a wizard. I was only disappointed with the signal strength. I had also purchased a D-Link Dualband 802.11n Xtreme N Duo USB Adapter and was expecting to be able to connect from 10 miles away. (Actually, I was in the garage approx 100 feet away.) At that distance the signal strength was 40% but the transfer rate was excellent. I am well pleased with this Router.

replaced old 802.11b router. Had a user error problem. Called D-Link for support. Could not get support person who could speak clear enough English to understand. Wasted 4-5 hours with a language/communication wall with two different help desk individuals. Also second support person did not have depth of knowledge to fix even a simple security logon to router problem. Hardware is ok, support needs addressing.

As advertised, I was able to greatly extend the range of my wireless network. I am now able to use my laptop while I am in my workshop, a feat that was impossible previously. I recommend this router to anyone needing extended range. Tremendous value for the price too.
