D-Link DIR-655 Xtreme N Gigabit Router

Set up on my conputer fine,Had a problem on Wife's conputer with network majic..she has Zone alarm that was the problem..Set up two game consols and a wireless printer Minor problem with one consols called Wii,problem solved.Had router over a week zero problems.

I got the router because I was having trouble getting a signal on the other side of the house with my old router. This solved that with no problems. It was easy to install and works great.

I recently upgraded from a D-Link 524 wireless router and am amazed at the ease with which the transition went. Easy as pie! Range is fantastic and speed is phenomenal. The GUI is also MUCH improved and there are now several security protocols available other than WEP. Highly recommend.

I have this to replace my Dlink Gaming Router 4300. This router is rock stable and has a lot of features. The three antenna design gives very good signal even for old wireless network card.

I purchased this product to help me eliminate my junk mail. I have Katharion email filtering but found that junk mail mailed directly to my IP address was still getting through. With the inbound IP filtering for my email, this product served my requirement perfectly. The setup went easily. I had considered products costing 3 to 4 times the price for the inbound filtering capability but found this product got the job done.

I have an extensive network, with two computers, a network printer, and two network drives. I manually set the router up and it works beautifully. Had tried a netgear, which would not even talk to the main computer on a lan cable! Well worth the $$.

This router is great. It took me a little while to get used to the interface, but it has all the features you would need for home use. I've gotten great speeds(at quite a distance), and my connection rarely drops. However this router may be too much for the average computer user/gamer.

I am glad I went ahead and bought this router! I have had nothing but a headache working on and using Dlink products. When I put myself in the market for a new router (Linksys 300n was just irking me off!), I did a review search. I found 99% of the reviewers gave the Dlink DIR 655n two thumbs up and right in its trail the Apple Airport Extreme. I do not believe in paying double for a system that performs just as well for half the price as the apple product (I'm not about to pay for someone's name, Apple.... pfft, I think we should be paying the inventor of the word or the tree, If I'm paying anyone for name rights!) But it is a DLink. I bit my tongue, and man, I'm glad I did! This router is STABLE, FAST, and I have a new and better network (what I sould of had with my linksys). Thank you Dlink! P.S. - my only problem is the marketing scheme of the USB on the back of the unit. You cannot use it if someone else is accessing it. It can only be accessed by 1 PC at a time. Bummer

Fantastic speed and stability. Make sure you upgrade to the latest firmware (version 1.31 right now). It's makes all the difference in the world. The new Shareport feature works very well. I stream HD movies from a hard drive connected to the router to my netbook. Works flawlessly. D-Link forum tech support is among the best in the business as well.

This router made my pc come to life on the ethernet connection--made computing a pleasure again. Wireless security is great. Range was not as good as I hoped for. I would buy it again though.

The ease of setting up the D-Link router and getting it to recognise my wireless home network makes it worth the money. It is a little more expensive than the Cisco router but has proven to be much easier to maintain and very reliable. The included USB port is great for helping sync your other wireless devices and the range is about 25 feet more than the Cisco router. I bought another one for my brother. Guess that says it all.

Great router - sooo fast - but make sure you do the firmware update. Had to call D-Link support - they were very knowledgeable and courteous. I live in a stone home - previously got very low speeds - now getting 50-80 mgbit wireless. Definitely recommend this router - and $1.99 shipping and 2 days.

I found the router easy to set up, good signal strength and range. It is being used at a bed and breakfast on the lake and so far, it's working very well at each of the cabins.

We previously has a much slower router, and needed an upgrade. This unit was just the ticket, installed smoothly, and works so very much better than our previous router. Would recommend this router to most anyone!

After receiving the router i had 3 wireless computers up and going with encryption and everything within 10 minutes. i have been using this router for about a week and have never lost connection. great product.

This site's DLink Router Review Video, inspired me to buy this new 802.11n technology. I made comparisions and the 802.11n supports earlier technology and has VOIP Voice-Over-Internet- Protocal features, others do not. The DR 655 Xtreme works well. Internet Routing is the key to hooking up correctly and understanding TCP IP is necessary. You are authorized Tech support upon hook up. My ISP Tech reprogramed my Verizon DSL Router, to the DR 655 cofiguration and directed me to Dlink Techs at 877-453-5465, to complete the IP Rounting correctly. Dlink has all ISP assigned IP Address, Default Gateway, Subnet Mask, according TCP IP structured rules, no need to frustrate yourself, let the Technicians do it correctly. End result is, I am up and running.

The cover range is much better than my old one, I guess 2 - 3 times.The speed is faster than G but not 300 only around 50 even I'm using its extreme n pci card.The price is high compare to other brand N.It works fine so far.

Great router. I upgraded from a D-Link WBR-1310 which could not handle high-def streaming video (used to have to reset the modem). I am currerntly running 3 laptops and 2 desktops on this new one. No problems with anything. I havent had to reset the router once. Great data software. Good job D-Link.

bought this at a great price. setup was a breeze. have 2 computers and 2 console connected to it. not the nicest looking router but does the job.

This just works, out of the box. Wireless thru out my home. Easy to set up. The best router i have ever bought. I have had mine for about a year? bought it at a low price that is just now being matched at other retail places. No problems since day one! Ps3 hooked up - main puter and a lap top and Cable internet hooked up for sharing access.

All in all this router has lots of great features lots more than the average PC user would need, but it is very nice to be able to customize your network the exact way you want it and like it. I recently replaced my D-Link DIR 625 Wireless N Router (that I had since it was first introduced and which was still working great at the time) for the D-Link DIR-655 X-Treme N Wireless Router because I needed greater range and the QoS technology. The router was really easy to set up and configure to the LAN and immediately showed its attributes. The ''dead spots'' disappeared. Our laptops could remain solidly on the wireless side of the router from across the street, next door, or in the car parked in the driveway. In total, I have four wired desktops, six laptops, two wireless printers and one game controller configured to the router in a 3800 square foot residence and each operates flawlessly. I have a few friends who have other routers and they work okay for their situation. However, if range and QoS is needed to abate lag or drop-out, D-Link has is a solid answer. Admittedly, there are other routers that could be as good or better, but why switch from tried and true?

amazing router, i bought a trendnet piece of crap wireless router a few weeks back and it was killing me i hated using it cause the signal was so weak...so i took it back and got this router and eveything is perfect! blazing speeds and everything id recommend this router to anyone who wants value for their money!! great buy!!!

I'm a average user of this. No problem with it. Works 99,999999999% of the time. I don't play games with it nor have a server through the internet.
