Good value
Comment:
Works as good as anything can with V (can't name it but you know what o-s I mean). Plug it in and away you go. An on-off switch would be nice. When V gets confused (often) disconnect the power for a minute and it will show up again.

Met expectations
Comment:
This was purchased as a backup for my family photographs. It met this need perfectly. I did not require unusual security, unusual speed, etc., so I had no need for features provided by other units.

Nice product for the price
Comment:
This is first external hd I have bought. Wanted more storage space and to be portable. This fits the bill to a tee. It is somewhat slower than expected on usb. All in all good deal.

Bought two. One worked. One didn't.
Comment:
I purchased two of these, one for each of my college daughters. The first one worked great, just as you would expect. The other one didn't work. It just wouldn't get recognized by any computer I plugged it into. The power light was on but nothing worked. The one that did work was a good value however and I am happy with it.

Love it
Comment:
This is a great product. The case could have been a little smaller or a better design, but it is rugged and sturdy and will protect the hard drive inside. For me this is better than a laptop. I no longer save anthing on my work computer but have it on this portable so I can use it at home and at work. I am going to purchase a second just to back up my work instead of using my home computer for that. The price is fantastic and so is the product.

Bought 3!
Comment:
Bought 3 only needed one as it turns out. I have an extensive movie and music collection, who doesn't?, spread out over 5 computers. The vid's are mostly in DVD format with some Divx and some High Def. I thought I would need at least 2 Terabites of storage, nope, only filled the pie chart half way, about 600 megs, after six hours of data transfer from all 5 computers on a 2.0 USB. A Terabite is a lot of space! And only costs 80 bucks? Unlreal. I love the way the external hard drive just plugs in and plays, this is with xp and vista os's. I sort of would have liked to have some backup software with it, but, I don't need it but for people that do it would be nice. Also, an on off switch would have been good instead of unplugging it to turn it off.

big heart in a little package
Comment:
I LOVE the size of the drive of course, but how compact it is and quiet. It's sitting right on top of my tower backing up all my precious data. Great buy!

You can't get a 1TB internal disk this cheap
Comment:
I agree with other reviewers that an on off switch would be nice, and the case is pretty cheap looking - BUT you cannot get many 1TB disks for this price. I just wanted some cheap external storage for backup and spare storage and this did the job.

Didn't work
Comment:
This unit was broken out of the box. I tried it on two different computers and neither one could see the drive. It also has no on-off switch, which is inconvenient. Sent it back.

You get what you pay for
Comment:
Very cheap, but it lacks additional features, like a power button, it broke within a month. Their customer service is good. I'm getting a replacement, I just have to pay the shipping. My advise, pay an extra 20 bucks and get something better...

Works great
Comment:
Use it weekly to automatically back up my laptop late at night and it shuts it down when its done. Set to do incremental backups.

Its performance is highly efficient.
Comment:
Efficiency is the name of the game. I've had the drive for over a month and no issues. Flawless plug and play instillation even in vista. Only thing it lacks is an ''I'm on'' and an ''activity'' light to let you know whats up. Kept it from perfect 5's.

Good value with lots of storage
Comment:
I recieved this drive as a Christmas gift from my daughter. Plug and play. Worked well right out of the box. I transfered about 6 gigs of music in less than 5 min. Not bad speed but could be better. I did a complete back-up on my laptop next and all went well there also. I would like to have a power switch but I use a sequenced power strip, so it doesn't bother me that much. As long as we have all our products built in china, we will always have issues with some working great and some not. I got lucky and got a good one.
