It works
Comment:
What can one say - it's a hard drive. It works. Plug into USB and you have 1TB minus formatting allowance of space. Very quiet. Drawback: No power switch, so needs to be physically unplugged if you want it turned off. It doesn't have auto power down when USB connection not present like some other external drives do. Had to give it 3 on features soley due to no on off switch. 5 for everything else.

Excellent deal
Comment:
I should have purchased two of these at the price. Easy set up and easy to use. Only suggestion would be to include an on & off switch.

Comment:
Product was a good price and works well except cannot boot windows XP with it connected. Have to connect it after booting. Be nice to have a power switch on it but works well otherwise

Nice if I didn't have windows
Comment:
Couldn't get windows to work with the backup. I have windows 7 64-bit and nothing I tried seemed to work when setting up the backup. I ended up buying a third party backup software and it works great. I just wish microsoft would get their act together. I looked from end to end on their website to find a resolution and couldn't find one anywhere.

Great product - great price
Comment:
Drive worked right out of the box. Two months so far, and no problems. I remember back in the '70s paying $600 for a 10MB (yes MB) external hard drive about the size of a shoebox.

A good drive for the price
Comment:
I opted to buy tbis drive instead of some that were priced slightly cheaper and I have not been disappointed. It runs quiet and cool. I've got it hooked up to my Pogoplug for accesible storage while I'm on the road and when I'm working with it at home it has great speed. (On the road the speed depends on the hotel internet connection mostly.) I'm very pleased with this drive.

Lemon Product
Comment:
So I get it on sale here, and it boots maybe 1 out of 10 times. This is a junk product, and I would never recommend that anyone buy one. I spent $80 bucks and got a brick - terrible value.

Needed more storage and I got what I needed with this unit. Iomega is a company I have always trusted and I wasn't let down. This is a excellant piece of hardware, quite, fast and huge on space.

Nice backup drive
Comment:
The order arrived quickly and in good condition. The value to space is excellent. Works without issues and performs as expected. The only complaint I have is that it does turn off or sleep. No problem for me as I knew this when I purchased it. I simply back-up weekly, it sits off the rest of the time.

Great Price, Good product
Comment:
There were some reviews provided indicating this device runs very hot and loud. I am NOT experiencing either of these issues. The drive is very quiet, fast xfer rate, and is hardly warm to the touch. As mentioned by other posters, the only drawback is a design flaw that placed the status light on the back of the drive. Ordered on Monday, up and running by Wed. Afternoon.

Good off-line backup
Comment:
I used this hard drive for backing up my on-line drive prior to major version upgrade and fresh install on a Fedora server. Worked great. Will continue to use drive as off-line backup.

Great hard drive.
Comment:
This hard drive is a no frills attached USB Drive. It uses USB 2.0 and Will work with USB 1 even though it takes a long time. the Drive comes formated NTFS and is plug and play friendly. It works great with Apples Time Machine after you reformat the drive, which is just as easy as formatting any generic flash drive. It even works great with two partitions as I set mine up with half of it OSX journaled and the other Fat32. The only thing I found odd about it was that the HDD access light is on the same side of the enclosure as the power supply and usb connections. which isn't really an issue

Great drive for backups
Comment:
I have had an Omega 80GB drive for years. Primarily used it for holding system backups (full backups monthly, with daily incremental updates). A few months back, I bought one of these (1TB)for use in backups at my church, it has performed flawlessly. My last purchase was for one to use at home - now I'll keep full weekly's, with daily incremental updates. With the backups running in the middle of the night, there's no reason not to have good backups for that (eventual) system crash. Having them on an external USB drive that can move from system to system as needed is super. Jim S

1 TB for $80 good deal
Comment:
Pros: Works. Cheap. Decent speed. Cons: Price went up ten bucks. Mine was preformatted NTFS, yields about 970 GB free space when empty.
