Works right out of the box. The only thing missing is an on and off switch.

Bad: No power switch Need to open computer before using (1tb) Better close peripheral from the task bar. Good: Fan making low noise. Smooth data transfer on usb 2.0

This hard drive performs without any problems right out of the box. Although at times it is a little slow when copying files to and from it, I have not had any problems at all and am confident in using it for all my backups needs.

This was a Great buy. Aside from short wires, which plagues most external hard drives. Transfers well and i've had no problems with it. A GOOD buy.

I've had this product about three weeks, good product so far no problems,should have a power switch that's my opinion though.

I would consider this an almost perfect product- all your useful data n the go with you wherever you go!Only if this had a power cutoff switch, it would make it a perfect product. Also, the price paid is well worth the volume of data stored.

Not much too say... works great! I use it to perform nightly backups of my machine. No issues so no complaints.

The drive has a continuous background hum. It would be better if it would shut down when not in use.

I bought this for my son for xmas. He loves it! It has enough space to put all his movies and other stuff on; and he can take it with him! He's a happy camper!

I bought this for my son in law. And for the first time in 8 years, he said thanks, it was just what i wanted. He's loving the extra storage for his lap top in a compact case.

I have a 500GB Mybook which I really love, I know Iomega is a prety good brand and the price for this was great so I got it to back up my Mybook. I am very disappointed that when I shut my computer off the hard drive does not shut off. I have to unplug it or use a power strip that I can shut off. Mybook shuts off with the computer. Its a nice feature. This drive repeatedly disconnects itself from my computer so I have to unplug it and plug it back in for it to show up on my computer. Finally today when I came home and turned everything on it wanted to be formatted again and I told it to cancel and I still lost all of my data. Hopefully I just got a bad one.

I bought one and it bricked in about 5 minutes. Got a replacement and it works like a charm! It's not the speediest thing in the world, but what do you expect from USB 2.0? The only thing I wish it had is a power switch. I hate having to unplug it from the wall on the days I don't run a backup.

Cheap, big and transfer rate is pretty good. It is all you could hope for in a External drive used for backups. Will see if it has a long life, but so far so good.

I have downloaded over 700 movies on this ext hard drive. This is the best ext hard drive I have ever used. I have presently purchased 3 and 3 WD to look at movies on the TV.

The drive ismy first Terrabyte. it is good itI was hoping for metter speed. it still takes time if I am moving to or from multiple folders. It would be nice to have a power switch and the drive does get hot afte a hour of eing plugged in. I unplug mine Works fine so far.

Everything worked great right out of the box. I would recommend buying a second USB cable so you can disconnect cable from the hard drive and share it with a second computer.
