Do NOT buy it
Comment:
This product is unreliable. It stopped working in the middle of a copy. I had to return it. |

Second one - won't work
Comment:
I have tried 2 of these drives. I could not get windows to recognize the drive. The IT dept at work could not get it to work with 4 different machines. i worked with IOMEGA support - tried new power supply and many other ideas and all failed. |

it crashed
Comment:
I've had this for just over 2 months and it doesnt work anymore. I have all my files, pictures, movies, etc on it. I am in the process of seeing what the warranty can do but im sure i will lose everything on it. |

A good value, reliable
Comment:
worked right out of the box, no problems under pretty heavy stressors. |

Great for the price
Comment:
Worked right out of the box with no problems. Drive light and power switch would be nice, but then it would probably cost more. |

Not worth it
Comment:
This product is unreliable. I had it for about 2 months and it crashed. I lost all data and have to return to Iomega to get a warranty replacement. Data recovery is very expensive - 15 times more than the drive cost. |

Great Value
Comment:
I just bought this product, so far no problems. The only missing feature is the power switch, after turing off the computer the hard drive is still on so I have to unplug the ac power cord all the time to conserve power and extend the life of the hard drive. But still 1TB for a low price is great. |

So far it's good
Comment:
I have 4 of these, just purchased my 5th one. I use them for backups, it's cheaper then tape and a lot easier to maintain. No failures yet, and even if one does I won't be all the upset about it. |

I like external drives.
Comment:
I gave this a good rating, but I haven't had the opportunity to put it to use yet, I trust the company and the price was right. I don't anticipate any problems with this unit. |

Good product for the price

No complaints, brought 2 of them. a power switch would have been useful. |

Great Value
Comment:
Great hard drive for the price. It's thinner than some other popular externals, but it's not stackable. The only downside is the lack of a faster speed than USB 2.0. It took several hours to back up my 900MB of files. |

Great Product, Must Buy!
Comment:
i was looking for a cheap storage device to store movies, games, and my OS on and i came across this product. It was set up in minutes and since then i havent touched it once or noticed it is there ninus the extra 931 GB of space. Realize 1tb is not 1,000 gb. Everything is perfect as of now and advise anyone to buy this at about 10 cent a GB you cant beat the price. |

Solid Product
Comment:
This little baby does what its supposed to do with no problems at all. It is a bit slow and should have an on-off switch. It is a solid, well-priced and dependable external that I endorse freely. |

Great product for the money
Comment:
It arrived on time. I plugged it in and it worked as advertised. Very quiet with a fast interface. Backed up all my files from three computers and have room to spare. Best investment I've made in a while. I recommend it! The ONLY negative is that it is not powered by USB and you need an external power source. No biggie though. |

Three for Three
Comment:
I ordered three to be rotated as our nightly backup solution and thus far they all are working great. Very quiet and quick. They are powered by a power cable, which may be an inconvenience to some, but that is just fine by me. |

Size isnt everything.... needs power
Comment:
Great price for a 1GB drive - but you have to plug it into the USB AND the wall AC power !!!! Not a good thing for a 'portable' external drive... |

Does its thing!
Comment:
Plugged it in one month ago and performed perfectly ever since. Its so quiet I forget its on, compared to my internal HD which sounds like some sort of impact wrench at an automotive service station. Just the same old complaint-wish it has an off swith-but thats why its so cheap! Buy one--or several, maybe I'll get a commission! |

Used for a backup of my MAC one time and that's it. It crapped out and won't do anything but make clicking sounds. |

The unit is excellent for long storage of data. Ideal for desktop backups, pictures, movies, long term financial data. Installation was very easy. The price is OUTSTANDING. |

broken
Comment:
Bought this drive mainly because of the price. I figured $89.99 for a 1TB aint bad. Received it shortly after ordering it along with some other components to complete my home security system, but the drive was completely dead. Lights came on, but i knew from holding it and not feeling any spinning CF (and from experience) that something was wrong. connected it to 3 different computers before i boxed it up and RMAed it right back and ordered myself a 2TB internal like i should have in the first place. |
I have three of these - on a Mac Mini, on a home server, and one for video. All worked out of the box, with good transfer speed. The only downsides are the flimsy case construction, and the inability to chain together the power adapters (which makes using multiple units a pain).
