iomega Select 1TB 3.5" External Hard Drive

This product works as described. I have used it for a couple of months and have run into no problems. In addition, it was the most space for the best price. Very easy to use and great deal.

I had previously owned a bad tempered Seagate Free Agent 1 TB external drive, but after I bought 2 of these from Iomega for extra storage, I just ended up giving the Seagate away. I have used the Iomega's heavily over the last couple months and haven't had a single issue.

I bought this drive to use as a backup for three hard drives on my home computers. It performs flawlessly. It came out of the box ready to go. Just plug it into any USB port, connect the power and it instantly shows up as an additional drive on your computer. Massive storage for less than $.10 (a dime) per GB! Like everyone else, it would be nice to have an on/off switch, but it is easy to simply unplug the power port if you locate the unit in a convenient location. Simply an outstanding value. Highly recommended.

I am deployed and this hard drive has lasted through out everything. it stays pretty cool. it hasent overheated and the temp here is always around 110. so good luck and have fun

It is a very good external Hard drive with lots of space for backups. A great value for the price & works great out of the box.

A solid drive that is quiet, not overly hot while running and priced just right. The LED light on the drive flashes while in use which helps with unwarranted unplugging. The USB and power connections are on the same side as the light, though I don't mind. No power button on this, just unplug to turn off. I've only had it about two weeks but its 'feels' solid, sounds solid and hey, it's 1000 Gigs of storage. A good buy.

Worked perfect right out of the box and never had an issue. Works perfect with Windows 7 ultimate 64 bit.

Very practical. The only thing I don't like is I would prefer to have a switch to shut if off on it.

For a 1Tb USB 2.0 external, this is about the best deal going. Plugged it in and started writing to it, appeared to be no problem. Tried to remove and move files and directories, and started receiving errors. Went into Disk Management, removed and recreated the volume, then back to work on it. Zero defects since. Using this drive to stream video to a WD Home Media HD box, working great. I'd get another.

It is a very good external Hard drive (could be a little smaller)! Lot of space for backup my thousands of photos and songs. Very worthy cost!

Would buy another, great value for the price & works great out of the box. Only issue as mentioned by others is the lack of on off switch. Other than that you won't regret it. I was also surprised at how quickly the item arrived at my door.

This is a storage unit for mu daughters laptop. it worked right out of the box. Good product. Only draw back is there is not an on - off switch.

Very easy set-up. Fast transfer of files. You need no computer skills at all to set-up and run. Purchased to back up all my photos and music...this product is ideal for that.

Simple, Fast, Convenient, Affordable. This external hard drive is the best I've ever owned. More space than I can even believe, at a cost that was incredibly low. The only thing I would do to improve this product is add an on/off switch, other than that, it is as close to perfection as you can get!

Purchased the iOmega Terra Byte Portable in USB 2.0 config. It worked great right out of the box. A quick partion and bam back was underway. My 40000 itunes were again safe as well as my server and main iMac storage drive. Excellent product for Intel iMacs. One feature it could use is an on off switch...

Initially I used it for merely a laptop backup, but it was so quick and usefull, I have since turned it into my media centre add-on. Good product , especially for the price!

Cheap, does the job, somewhat slower than I was expecting with the cache it has but overall great buy i'm satisfied and would buy another.

I bought the IOMEGA drive for backing up multiple computers. Works as promised; will need 5 plus years to know its dependability. IOMEGA has always been a good vendor to me. I am surprised at the lack of a blinking LED to show when the drive is transferring data.
