iomega Select 1TB 3.5" External Hard Drive

This was a great deal and a great product. When I got it, I just had to plug it into my computer, plug in the power and it was ready to go. No formatting. Excellent buy!

Hooking up this drive is a breeze. Simply Connect it to a USB 2.0 port and VISTA Home 64bit instantly recognizes it as a Mass Storage Device and assigns it a Drive letter. Transfer rate is incredible as I transferred a 5gig video file to the Iomega in 1min 20sec. (Yes I timed it!) My only complaint about it is, unlike my other 1TB external, the Iomega does not have a Power button. You have to unplug it to turn it off! In this day and age that is inexcusable. But that is my only complaint. It's low cost, incredible storage capacity, and transfer rate, make this a must needed peripheral for your system...be it Mac or PC.

Had 30 now and no problems, I perfer to see after 2 years even though the warrenty does not go that far. FOR THE MONEY WE SPEND ON COMPUTERS & PARTS THEY SHOULD MAKE WARRENTYS LONGER.

I use this for backup for my Windows7 R.C. system and leave it connected constantly, it works just great!

I ordered this in the morning and received it the next day. What great service. I plugged it in and had no problems. I am not very techy and am very pleased with how easy it was to use. The size makes it very portable which I needed.

This is a great portable device. I use it for work and school and have tons of space that allows me to do everything I need to do. Having an on/off switch would be a great addition but for the price I won't complain. I would recommend this to anyone who has a lot of data they need to carry with them and make available to multiple computers.

My only complaint with this unit is that when performing a large backup that requires it to write for four hours or more, it occasionally overheats and shuts down. This leaves me with no backup for that day. Also, the tally light is on the same end as the connections, which I find inconvenient. I prefer tally light on front and connectors on the back

If you need external storage, this is just what the doctor ordered. Nothing fancy, just does the job without fuss or problems. Plug it in and away you go.

I had been searching for a sub $100 1 TB External drive for some time. When I saw this one I thought I would give it a shot. Love it! It is fast, quiet and has a small foot print. I replaced 3 of my smaller drive and it freed up a lot of my desk space. Iomega rules!

Super Deal for a super price. So simple to use, company formatted, all I had to do was unpack it, plug it in et voila. I have purposely kept my Iomega external hard drive on for 24 hours for over one month since I bought it and no trouble so far. Couldn't have asked for anything better.

This external works well. The case seems a little cheap but other than that it dose what it should. We bought 3 of these for rotating backups to servers in our data center. So far they have held up very well despite looking kind of cheep.

Have had it for about 4 weeks now, no problems what so ever. I have it networked through my main computer and have backed up our 2 laptops via the network and my children's 2 desktops. I fix computers and it is simple to connect and backup and restore. Lots of room at a price that is insane and I love how quickly it came to my front door!!! I also wish there was an on/off button, but for the price, I can unplug :)

I picked this drive up looking for a quick back solution for files I wanted to archive. The case feels a bit too plastic-like compared to other external storage I've used, but it has given me no problems. At times I wish the power cord were a bit longer.

I have used Iomega for years, Zip especially, and have been happy with their products. The only fault is the lack of an off/on switch. How stupid to have a great peripheral like this, but must unplug the dam thing..A terabyte is as much space as most anyone could need.

Very clean with alot of extra software and useless junk to delete. Wish it would turn off with the computer thought, or even have an off button. otherwise great for the price.

The Iomega 34579 1TB hard drive gives you a decent amount of storage for a great price. Case is smaller than many 1TB drives on the market, but lacks an on-off switch. It's also plastic and not as durable as a metal case. But if you aren't moving this drive around a lot, that shouldn't be a issue. Overall, this is a well-constructed, quiet drive which I am hoping will last several years.
