Overall this is a great value. There are not many frills associated with this hard drive, but it is an external hard drive, what do you expect? If you need backup sofware you can find freeware for that on Cnet dot com.

I have purchased 15 of these hard drives & Have had no problems. I use them over & over as I'm in the video business. I use iMovie & I'm constsntly deleting & re-using HD. I would definitly recommend this product.

It works great and was so easy to install and use. It may not be the fastest drive, but works perfectly for my multimedia and general file archive needs. Would be nice if the drive power activity light was on the front though.

The drive I received never powered up. After plugging in, a light would come on but the drive would never spin up. I then spent a few hours trying to persuade the manufacturer that it was a drive problem and not a power cable problem as I tried multiple power cables. Still awaiting approval from them to get this defective product returned. I'm sure this is probably a fine product if you are lucky enough to get a good one. You get what you pay for sometimes and it appears I got a lemon.

I got this hard drive when it was on sale a while back. I'm not sure I'd be willing to pay $80 for it, but it was easily worth the sale price and then some. Note: This hard drive IS Windows 7 compatible. I was a bit concerned about that, but it works great. No bells and whistles; it just does what it's supposed to do, and does it well.

Really like the unit, no trouble as it worked right out of the box. My last Iomega included retrospect back up software, it would have been great to get that but it was not expected or advertised. I have had great experience with Iomega HD units.

I installed the unit and it fired up OK, I started making a backup and all of a sudden the drive was no longer recognised. To make a long story short Iomega sent out a replacement, when it arrived the hard drive had never been secured inside the case and of course was not connected to the interface, I had to open it up and erpair it before I had a working drive. Not a good experience......

When these went on sale, I bought a couple of them for various uses. The value for temporary and portable storage is really good. It works and does what is should do, well. There aren't really any features, I would expect on a 1tb drive though, especially from the manufacturer. maybe some backup software and a one touch backup or perhaps a schedule backup. those can be done with built in OS software, otherwise, just need to manually set that up, depending on your OS. The quality is about average for the device, but the AC adaptor is not very

Vista and XP excepted it right away and it hasn't had any problems yet. Incredible how you can back up 2 systems and still hardly make a dent in the capacity.

Have XP machine, will not see the drive due to lack of proper driver. Went to iomega web site, basically we don't supply drivers, go find your own. Would not buy this drive if I had know of this quality of support. I spent another $60 on two dirferent driver programs but still cannot find the dorrect driver for this

when i got this hard drive, i backed up everything from all of my computers and still have plenty of room, i have created a full backup of my computers also by using acronis true image, i created a backup of xp on my one computer before i upgraded to vista,a and then i created another back up before i upgraded to windows 7, then finally i created a backup of windows 7. this product was easy to use, it came pre-formatted for windows, so i plugged it in and i was ready to go! what more can i want from a drive like this? i also bought one for my sister for Christmas, i am sure she will be so happy i got one for her! thank you for such great products!

Perfect but, easy to set up in seconds, love it except it has no indicator light in the front to let you know it is on, running or any files being downloaded or access, other than that go for it!

1T is a lot of storage space. From backing up for an upgrade, keeping everything you've ever downloaded, and a copy of everything else this drive is perfect. It could be a little faster but that's no inconvenience.

I bought this drive a few days ago for $99. It is a good hard drive for the price. There is nothing fancy about it and it would definitely be better if it had an ON OFF switch but as a basic hard drive it does the job well. Also, it is very quiet, another bonus, and quite compact compared to some other hard drives of similar GB size i.e. WD My Book HDs.

Bought this drive at the end of May 09 worked fine for 6 months and now it wont work at all lost everything on the drive I opened up the plastic enclosure it has a standard Seagate Barracuda sata drive inside very surprised to see that

Truly Plug and Play. Although not the prettiest drive in the world - can't beat the price and the storage for the size!

Worked right out of the box and haven't had a single problem with it. it's nothing fancy, but it's a great little external drive for backups.

When the unit arrived it didn't work. I opened it to find the hard drive detached from the component board. After re-attaching and re-sealing it, the drive works great!!
