Excellent Balance of Price and Performance
Comment:
I purchased the external drive to help backup and my personal computers hard drive, but got side tracked with a friend needing me to record all 21 stages of the Tour De France from my DVR in HD so he could watch it later.. With each show being over 4 hours long in HD, I didnt know how much storage would be required, but I had plenty of room and the video is perfect. All I need to do is unplug the drive and take it with me to watch the cycling events.

Easy to install, easy to use. Added thousand pictures, music, text files, backup from other computers. It is a lifesaver. For the price, I would buy another one.

This was my first external hard drive. It works great...very quiet. Some have complained about it not having an on/off switch but who cares..unplugging it saves electricity any. Very impressed with the product.

Not bad for the money but not a super-speedy drive
Comment:
The drive gives the expected capacity; however, it doesn't seem to have quite as fast of a transfer rate as other 1TB USB 2.0 drives I've used. And, it is definitely built to be marketed at a low price - very ''cheap'' plastic casing and a small 1.5A switching power ''brick'' that hangs from a wall socket, versus the inline bricks with higher current output that I'm used to seeing. Nonetheless, it was plug 'n' play, pre-formatted in NTFS and ready to go. No reliability problems and it seems to run cool. So, I think it was a good value for what I paid.

Thanks for this little guy...

I am very impressed with the Iomega 1TB hard drive. I'm novice writer writing several novels at once and I'm quite satisfied with all the storage space I have. ...The only issue I have to agree on with everybody else is the fact that I have to unplug it to turn it off when I shut down my computer. Suffice it to say, as long as you keep this item in stock, I'll definitely recommend it to others.

Lol, got this right before it became unavailable!
Comment:
I love this thing. 1 gig of space for all of my movies and personal videos, and even my own music. Very easy to set up. Hopefully this thing will last me a long time and won't break, because I have so much of my personal stuff on here that that would SUCK. But yeah, this is excellent for the price.

Awesome for the Price
Comment:
My dad bought this for me and it was a great buy! First of all though you DO NOT get 1 TB. You actually only get 931 GB's of space. Not to worry though, it is plug and play and now I have free space on my internal hard drive. The download speed is a bit slow, but again for the price it can't be beat! If you need space buy this hard drive!

This is my third IOMEGA external drive... a 250, a 320 and now a 1TB.. Product works perfect right out of the box. Plug it in to PC & USB and your ready to go. Only thing I miss is an on/off switch.. However, for $89... I can unplug it myself :-)

Excellent Portable Drive

Drive is super easy to use, just plug and play like a thumb drive, no software to load or set up. Read and write times are fast, about 3 min to copy 10GB of photos. Great Value for the price.

Best for the bank account
Comment:
I have ran my Iomega 24/7 since I received it. Wonderful. There are no bells or whistles on this, you even have to unplug the power to turn it off. I wish there was a simple on / off button. I assume this is why it's under $90.00 I find the Quality to be Great. Since its usb only its slow to my 160 , But again for under $90.00 the performance is just what I thought it would be. Over all its a great buy. And looks good to.

Best deal I found on this site
Comment:
This product has the most space for the best price here on this great site. The only thing I do wish it had is a power button. other than that it meets all of my expectations and has worked perfectly since I got it. The only thing I didn't look at was its size. I would just make sure you don't mind a drive of that size because the picture is decieving. = D In total a fantastic product!

Great Product, Better Deal
Comment:
Bought this to backup my 2 home computers. Use a 3rd party software and data transfer speed is as expected. I am only going to use this drive for backups, so I am not going to leave it plugged in all the time. For the time I do run it there are no heat or performance problems.

This is a must have
Comment:
Ordered mine last week and it cae yesterday. Setting this up is about as hard as changing a light bulb. Comes with 2 plugs, a power adapther and a USB cable. Plug it in and Windows XP saw it with no worries. A few seconds to install and you are off and running. I do al ot of graphics work, so I have a lot of project video clips and images. Copied all of those over and when I look at this drives "properties: there is only a thin sliver indicating used disk space. I'm going to have room on this for tons of stuff.

So far so good
Comment:
I seems to be working fine, runs quiet and cool. Only thing is it contains (at least the one I got does) a Seagate drive, and I read they were having some issues with them. Hopefully this is later version of the bad batch of which many thousands were sold and ended up as doorstops, or "bricks" as the fad term now dictates. As for this setup, it is so far just fine. You plug it into the machine, and it gets instantly recognized (at least this one did) and then you just drag and drop or copy/paste into it. No formatting (for PC) unless you really insist on it. Vents in case allow for plenty of air circulation, that is a big plus, should make the drive last a long time - if it's not one of the bad bathes, don't think so. Good luck. Over and out.

Well Worth the Price
Comment:
This is a bare bones drive with only the USP port though not very compact I was able to install it right out of the box. I'm using it as a add on to my Buffalo NAS and it so far seems to perform well with faster write speeds than my Lacie (being newer I guess) Only drawback is its not very compact and not made to stand vertically. Serves my purpose for now though
