What can I say, it's a large capacity, compact in size back up device. I hope I never really know it's value to me, because that would mean my computer crashed, and I'll be backing up from this drive. I have the identical device sitting next to it, for added security. (Not this model or brand, but I had a backup device fail, and the only advice I was given was to add a second back up device)

Very hard to beat $.085 per gig. I hope it will last me as long as my other HDD's have. Back in the day, I bought 2 80GB HDD and 1 160GB HDD thinking that they(monster sized drives at the time) would serve my needs for storage for the rest of my life. Obviously I was wrong. You can't go wrong with this unit,especially for the asking price of $85.

well so far this product has been real good for me. i have been using it as a back up drive for my laptop and it works just great. i don't think that i will fill it anytime soon but if i do then i'll have to get something larger

Work very well, quiet and not very warm. Quality is very good. The only little thing is the design, you have to put some more rubber under the feet if you want to have two, one of top of the other. Recommended prduct.

I bought this drive in a area were they apparently do not give support. The drive failed within 2 weeks, taking 100s of gigs of data with it. Basically the manufacture told me too bad.

I bought this external drive to help take some of the load off the main drives. Hooked this one right up, ready to go in seconds. Operates quietly too. Wonderful storage capacity for the price as well. Highly recommended for those in the market for high-capacity external drives.

Had some problems with copying large amount of files but this may be a Windows issue. But since I let my backup software handle backup versions I have no problems.

This product was so easy to setup I could have had my 7 year old do it. Along with ease of use this drive sits behind my PC and you hardly even know its there except for knowing that I now have amazing storage capacity. I have had no problems with this what so ever. If your looking for a cheap, dependable drive, now is the time, by an Iomega!!!

bought this little qizmo as an hard drive to attach to my bell receiver as a PVR...absolutely no problems whatsoever and takes only seconds to formatt....lovely little machine

This was exactly what I was looking for. I needed something at my office that would back up my entire accounting package. This did the trick.

I purchased this unit for an external drive for my dish network HD tv box. I was running out of space on the internal drive so I upgraded the service to support an external storage device. The important part for this upgrade was to find a device that did NOT have a shut off switch. This device needed to be powered up at all times. This device just works great for my application.

The price is great for that amount of storage. However, on a couple occasions the drive hung up and started clicking, just like on their old ZIP drives. Had to unplug and restart it to get it working again, but I am a little worried that it may die with the dreaded click of death.

This drive does everything it needs to do at a great price! other people complain about the lack of a power switch, the interface or the need to format it. you really don't need a power switch for an external drive! just plug it in, format it and just use it! as to the interface, it's USB! it is advertised as USB! i can't plug this drive into a firewire or ESATA connection, but i can't (probably can't) substitute ground beef for banannas if i made bananna bread either, but no one needs to tell me that! i bought this drive over a month ago, plugged it in, set it up, copied just over 900 gigs to it and shared the drive on my network. it just sits there and works! i don't need to think about it, look at it. i just access the files on it.

i have Fantom ext drive, this EXT HD and seagate ext drive. Fantom cost $10 more but it has ESATA which is lot quicker than USB 2.0. DO NOT BUY SEGATE EXT HD, it doesn't work will with other EXT HD and wants USB by itself. this drive is OK but FANTOM KICKS BUTT WHEN IT COMES TO TRANSFER SPEED.
