Good Perfermance
Comment:
Good Performance and good price for 1TB drive, no on/off switch should be standard on a 1TB drive size, but too early to know if hardware is reliable or not, require at least 9+ months continuous usage to accurately predict quality of drive.

Excellent product for the price
Comment:
Runs hotter than I'd like, but otherwise transfer time is very good - it's interesting to see how little space is taken up when adding huge amounts of photos - good product for the price.

Excellent Product
Comment:
I bought this a month ago and so far it has been working good. The transfer speed is excellent and easy to us. The regular shipping is excellent, I received the disk in two days after i order it. good service. I wish it had the software for easy back up and may be set a password. But for the price it is sold it is a good bargain.

iOmega 1TB External Drive
Comment:
It works, and has plenty of room to store all data from all of my computers. The only drawback is that it does not get its power source from the USB port. It requires an additional AC adapter. Other than that, it does the job.

So far, so good
Comment:
Like others here, I was surprised to see that there's no power switch for this device. I realize it's a 'no-frills' drive, but cutting the corner with the power switch on it seems a little excessive. However, it's working fine, so I can't complain too much.

Fantastic product
Comment:
This drive is great. Holds all our drawings with room to spare. All drawings in the office are now centrally located. We no longer have to wonder whose computer the latest drawings is on. What a time saver!!

It Works
Comment:
I recieved it and plugged it into my computer and within a few minutes I was storing files. I've had it for almost two months now and seems to be holding up just fine. If you need extra storage space you could do alot worse than this.

I Love This Drive
Comment:
So far, so good with this drive. I bought it to pack with movies, MP3 files and also to back up my entire computer. For those jobs it works fantastic and will probably end up buying a few more in the future. With 1 TB of storage you can store an enormous library of movies and music. If you ever do fill it up, simply archive the drive, buy another one and start all over. It is amazing when I think back to buying my first 1 GB external drive for somewhere between $300 and $500 many years ago. :-)

Works w/ Mac
Comment:
This product is a great value. It was originally made for Windows (NTFS) but I learned that you can still use it on Apple computers using free ''NTFS-3G for Mac OS X'' software. One downside is that on the Mac end it was quite slow. Otherwise, great buy!

Awesome Deal
Comment:
No fancy words here ! Take it out of the box plug it in-done ! Using it as a backup drive for 1 internal and 2 smaller external drives, works like a charm in the background, no noise, no fancy blinking christmas lights. I always do extensive research on stuff before I buy. Verdict here : "buy It !!"

I have connected this drive to my computer but have not stored anything on it. The price was good but the drive could use an off/on switch.

Not for Imac startup drive
Comment:
I purchased this drive to assist in changing out my internal HD on my Imac. It was not very agreeable. After repeated reformats and web site grazing both Apple and Iomega, I had to call tech support at Iomega to find out that I had to change the usb cable and the unit WAS NOT capable of being used as a start-up drive. What a kick in the pants. guess I'll use it as a brick or some temporal storage for some pics.

Omega 1TB ext hard drive

For those of you who have a problem with no on off switch. Just buy a surge protector power cord with a switch on it. Problem solved.

Great Product for the Price
Comment:
I haven't had any problems with it. I even dropped it out of the box and it works fine. Runs quiet. I'm not really a picky person, I just needed something to store videos while I edited them. The transfer rate is good. The ding on the features is that it doesn't have an ON/OFF switch. Not really the worst thing in the world but it does get kind of annoying. All and all you can't beat the product/quality for the price.

Excellent Price
Comment:
Excellent price for 1TB drive. Only drawback perhaps is that it does not have an on-off switch. I have mine plugged into a multi-outlet surge protector with other peripherals which works for me.

Great bang for the buck!
Comment:
I'm using this as a PVR drive so it spends most of it's time on stand by and has never over heated or failed to work when asked. I recommend it to any one that is looking for straight up storage space...you can't go wrong!

Perfect Music and Picture
Comment:
I purchased this as a place to backup my music and picture library. So far, so good! The transfer rate seemed reasonable and so far it works great with any of my laptops that I have tried it on. Furthermore, I installed the newest version of Itunes while it was hooked up and Itunes had no problems finding all my music. Which is great since everyone in my family now uses laptops, and it is all too easy to drop or break one.
