I'm very pleased with this drive. The free Retrospect Backup software (downloaded from the IOMEGA site) was needed since my regular Norton Ghost wouldn't work. The Retrospect software allows for automatic backup which is also nice. Now, I have a truly large hard drive to back my systems up on.

I brought 2 of these and they were great. I use one for backup of data, and the other one i use as a network drive. I formated one as a FAT32, very easy to do. and the other one i kept it the same. Speed is decent, and so far everything seems really good. A good product.

I had no problems using this with my PC AND with my Mac. I didn't have to download anything from the internet. The drivers are in the hard drive, so I think prior complaints were older machines or misguided users? I filled this with movies and am very happy with its performance.

I dont like the fact that i had to download directions of the internet. If they would have printed out only english instead of every language out there they would have not used so mutch paper. the product is great! works very well!!!!

Don't know what I did before this external hard drive. Really helped with the speed of my computer. Have everything backed up now without fear of losing important family pictures and videos.

No frills, good value off site storage for a frugal shopper. At $90, compared to other similar ext. HD at about $110 it's a good buy. Transfer speed not consistent and never up to 480Mbps as specs. Mine max out at around 200Mbps but mostly at 70-80 Mbps, don't know why. Data go through a lots of gates, not just this USB drive. Quiet and small enough to toss behind my 47 inch screen monitor. No trouble so far. Only complaint is the blue activity light at the back of the unit, where all the connections and wires are plugged in, it should be on the front. For someone who complain that it wants to boot your computer, check your computer bios, you may have set the bios to boot from usb drive.

Works as advertised. Only pain is that it must be unplugged while booting. Always wants to be the startup drive. Silly feature IMHO.
