Works as advertised. Only flaw or concern is that it doesn't power down or stop spinning after the usb has been disconnected from the pc, which could mean the life span is shortened. As long as the consumer is aware of this and takes precautionary measures to unplug the power when not in use then this product is ideal for any of your storage needs.

This drive is a good value for the money. Does what it is supposed to. A power switch would be nice. USB powered would be even better.

At very low price, it does all I expect from it. Negative : Not stackable.

Runs remarkably cool and quiet. No problems at all. I also like that it has a simple 12v power input, making running it on a battery as easy as making a cord. (An eSATA port and maybe power switch would have gotten it a 5 for features.)

just plug it in and start using it. External power switch is missing, but that is no problem.

I have owned this external HDD for about 2 months. I have not had any problems and it does just what I need it to do, back up my files and store music. Good price compared to the local stores.

For the money for a 1TB external hard drive it is worth the money. I have no had any issues with it. Well worth the money.

The only thing I can say negative about this hard drive, it needs a power switch.

Nothing fancy. It does what it was build for...as a mass storage device. Good product!

ITB of storage to store all the photos and videos that my wife produces at the price I paid is a great deal. I installed the product in minutes and transferred over 250 gig of her old image and video files from her MacPro in less then 10 minutes and now her Mac is humming along. The speed of access an external drive drive is a little slower then her internal drives, but the performance for the price is a reasonable tradeoff, especially since our planned use is to store older projects. I plan on buying more of these to use for a similar purpose.

I bought two of these units, one for myself, and one for a friend. We have had no problems so far, but we've only had them for about a week. However the data transfer rate takes about twice as much time as it does with my two other drives that I've had for awhile, even though its still a great value for a 1 TB drive and I would buy another one.

Quick easy set-up. Good Value that works fine. NOTE: No power button, device will stay powered on unless you turn off power strip. Not a big problem but you should be aware that it lacks this feature.

I was in need of an external hard drive to back up my laptops, this one is excellent and was shipped directly to me quickly.

drive was easy to use, recognized automatically by system....only problem is the stupid thing died about a week later. lost all my back ups, called compusa, they told me i had to deal with iomega. apparently, they will exchange, we will see, but I have still lost quite a few files. they will not assist in recovering them from the dead drive.

Bought my 1st one about 3 weeks ago. Have used extensively with NO problems. Transfer rate could be low but it is USB after all. I see no need for an off/on switch. I have bought several Iomega products over the years and have always been satisfied. Great product, solid, good price, FAST delivery just plug it in and go!

This drive works fine right out of the box. I agree though, that it would be nice to have a shut off switch.

Have had my drive for about 1 month, and it has functioned well. Not something worth deducting, but I wish I would have gone with an esata drive for the amount of data this will hold. It takes an extremely long time to transfer large files. Other than that Its a good drive with lots of features to keep it cool. I leave mine on 24/7 as network storage and it stays lukewarm. !

I bought two of these to use as backups. They are a little slow and there is no off switch but the price and storage space made it easy to ovelook these minor issues. Highly recommend!

I bought 2 of these drives one for general backup purposes and the other for my Telus sourced satellite TV PVR. Both worked exactly as expected and the PVR recognised and formatted the drive automatically and operates as expected. It is silent and while there is no power switch for my applications it is not needed.

Works great... plug it in and works perfectly right away. No try-ware to delete off or format drive like some other brands!!

I've had mine about a month and am very pleased. Just plugged in and went right to it. Speed is ok and I have had none of the problems some others have talked about. No getting hot and it has not negatively affected my computer at all. As usual price and service from here were great. I have told my friends where to get one when they need one.
