Very Good Product for the Money
Comment:
Bought it for my son. We plugged it in and it worked great right out of the box on XP. It was really good that it came with a power chord to plug it directly into the wall versus using the computer power supply and it came with all the connections needed for any hard drive.

Nice
Comment:
I work on computers for friends, family and their friends and family, I wish I had this long ago, it would have made it easier to do a few things. The adapter is simple to use! Some drives don't even need the power cord and it has read every drive I tried. I highly recommend it!

As simple and functional as screwdriver
Comment:
Bought two, one to use and one to loose. Well worth the money. Had no problem with IDE or SATA devices. The SATA cable is only 4 inches long and has to be given a half twist if yoyu want to see the leds when connected to the drive right side up (circuit board down). That is a design flaw in the circuit board layout

Does Not work for IDE
Comment:
Have tried to use this for IDE drives. So far totally unsuccessfully. Will try to send back if it will not work on IDE drives. This was the only reason I purchased the item. At least it was relatively inexpensive I already have a SATA hot swappable that works.

Great Product
Comment:
This product functions as described in the product information. This is not a product you will need often, but when needed, it is worth it's weight in gold. Very Convenient! Great tool for all, regardless of your skills.

cheap and perfect
Comment:
works fine. works under linux, windows, wherever. seperate power brick is handy even if not using the adapter when working on drives dangling outside of a case for repairs where the power from the case is too far to reach. love it, been using for a while now.

Great product for the $$

Easy to use and works without problems. One of those pieces of equipment you don't need everyday, but when required, it is a key product to have on the shelf.

Coolest Product Ever
Comment:
This is the coolest product for getting data off of hard drives. Ever since my students found out I had one at my house...I have had to keep it at school. They keep borrowing it and bringing their friends by to use it. When the community college I work for ever gets money again, they plan to buy one for the classroom. Of course, if anyone wants to donate one...let me know.

Excellent product and price.
Comment:
If you are one of those person who have a lot drives that you are constantly swapping back and forth then this is the device to have. It is convenient without the enclosure. It works just as good as an enclosed external drive but without the fuss of having to open and close whenever you want to swap drive. Aside from that it is design to be used by just about all drive sizes.

Money well spent
Comment:
A must have for those with older hard drives and new OS's that freak out over too many hardware swaps. Fast access, good transfer rate, and has thus far given no problems with either drive identification or interface issues on USB2.

Works great
Comment:
I plugged it in as soon as I recieved it, I checked dvd players and hardrives that I salvaged from bad computers. I then transferred files onto a hardrive and reinstalled them when finished reformatting a customers computer. Very handy, I already have used it enough to warrant the price. And am sure it will be handy in the future.

good product
Comment:
I had a desk top computer that died but I had 2 hard drives of information (mainly photos and MP3s) which I needed to retrieve. I got this product, connected it up and my new desk top recognized them like an external USB drive with no issues. This was the most value priced and easiest product to use !!!

Works Like A Charm
Comment:
I end up working on computers a lot and have a plethora of old hard drives or end up needing to transfer information. This little device makes that simpler by light years. No more opening up external drive cases and I don't have to invest in several different cases to accommodate different drive types. I've had none of the problems I've seen others complain about and for me, this item is perfect.

a little unpredictable
Comment:
I purchased this item for my in-home PC repair business with the hopes of cutting down the weight of my bag of tools. Unfortunately I still need to bring my external case with me since the device does not work with all HDD and DVD drives I have come in contact with. The price is great and it does work just not 100% compatible.

Now an Essential Tool
Comment:
I borrowed one of these from a friend to help recover data from an EIDE drive. I was blown away how easy it was to setup and worked like a charm. I immediately ordered one to have for myself. I now consider it an essential tool for an easy interface to external drives.

Best Little Computer Accesory I Ever Bought!
Comment:
This is the handiest thing to have! If, like me, you have several hard drives you have replaced with bigger ones and you want to save some of the data somewhere else or have friends that somehow manage to bork their drives and want help recovering some data, get this thing. It is cheap, works great, handles IDE and SATA drives and stores neatly away in its own box. I used it to save data files on a bunch of old small drives and erased them. I could then either keep the drive for acchiving data or get rid of them if they are of little or no use. Keep in mind that just formatting a drive will not necessarily destroy the data. If you want to ensure any sensitive data cannot be recovered, use a security tool designed for the purpose.
