This product works as advertised. I used it on serveral ide drives from 1.95Gb to 120Gb and it works fine. Used it on a Maxtor 120Bg sata drive and it works just fine. Haven't tried any 2.5'' drives. But be sure that the connections to the drive are straight and true and fully engaged before you plug in the power supply to the outlet. Then plug in the usb to the computer. Otherwise your computer maynot recognize the drive.

I have formatted new drives and got into drives that wouldn't boot or be recognized right away while in a desktop computer. Great way to retrieve data from drives that aren't installed in computer and that don't have external cases.

This was perfect for me because it allowed me to recover my files from my old hard drive when the motherboard died. It worked very well and everything connected properly. It allows you to not only recover your data but have an external hard drive to store anything you want without spending a ton. All in all very effective.

I bought this for imaging drives, and to be cheap, and use my regular optical drive as a burner on my netbook when need be, instead of buying an external burner. It works great for me, and I haven't had any issues with it so far.

Bought it to retrieve data off two non fuctioning drives. Could not connect to either no fault of the product. Liked this so much I just got back from the store with a new 500 GB drive to use for back-up. Can't be beat for the price.

I needed to be able to transfer data from a hardrive that I removed to another computer and this came in handy. With the various adapters, connection was easy.

Fabulous item. Way cheaper than external cases, very easy to use once you figure out to connect power first. Power adapter is very tight, so do be careful, but it works perfectly. You can pick up smaller hard drives rather cheaply, and they work grea for back ups. No more constantly changing drives in the PC, no more expensive drives in cases, this is great. Wish I had found it sooner. I liked it so much I bought 2.

I purchased this to examine the status of a bad computers hard drive. I preformed better than I expected. With XP it loaded quickly and was able to view the hard drive contents easily. It is very simple to use and the directions are straight forward with no guessing on your part. An excellent product to use however your needs are.

this thing works like a charm. my only regret is that i didn't get the model that comes with a power switch. other than that it works great. it pretty much solved my backup problems. need more space? pick up a cheap drive and WHAM, more space. need to move an ISO from one pc to another BOOM, its done! got your kid a new camera? shwing! they got their own drive to put their videos and pictures on. I mean its just great, i wish i had found one sooner. sure beats external cases hands down. for one the ease of changing drives is just hard to beat by anything else ive seen or used.

This thing is simply a must for anyone who works on computers once or more in a year. Made a client very happy when I was able to recover most of there files do to a nasty virus.

Well worth the 20 bucks. Remember to connect power first and you should be ok. I had to remove the jumper on a drive to get it to work but it is fast and easy to use.

This does exactly as advertised. No more limitations on which hard drive I can use for restore or recovery. Hard drive going bad? No problem. Use this to do data recovery, cloning, virus and spyware removal on a known clean machine. One catch. The power connector is EXTREMELY tight. Since it's molded and hard-wired to the power brick, I can't simply cut it off and replace the connector with another one. Be very careful with the amount of force you use -- don't overdo it and break a hard drive!

Right off the power cable quit, the the ide side quit???? The sata side still works nsometimes????

Purchased two of these to work with Casper Clone Program as it will Clone your Hard Drive including your Operating System and all other data to a new Hard Drive. Great for BACK UP if your Hard Drive crashed as you are back in business with in Minutes. Great Product.

I bought this when my son's laptop died and used it to recover all of his files. Like most people, I'm horrible about backing up our saved data. This let us recover everything. Of course it wouldn't help with a HDD failure or virus corruption, but I have used it several times now since I bought it. Great product and very easy to use. It hooks up easily to either parallel or serial ATA.
