This is a great product. It made it easy to copy files from my old, dead computer to my new one. Just removed the hard drive from the dead computer and hooked it up. Very easy.

I used it to recover data off a laptop EIDE hard drive had no problems with it, was even able to reimage the drive with ghost and PCtools. Works great on the IDE and SATA drives I had to recover data from. Had a drive with a partition problem and was abe to use Partition Magic to fix it, also used SMB recovery tools and Symantics disc recovery to recover the data off the damaged drive. I think it's the best product I ever bought for this price.

i have like 10 hard drives that i usually swap in and out of my pc, it only has two sata plugs on the MB, had to shut down and reboot constantly, now I just use this thing, very easy to use, no drivers needed, file swapping is fast atleast to me it is, the power plug adapter feels really tight which is good but with mine you really have to push it in, but no biggy just have to be a little careful. would buy again if this one fails and would suggest this to anyone wanting a cheap way to attach hard drives or dvd-cd drives to pc-laptop. the main piece does feel kind of cheap but I did mess with it quite a bit in seeing how it would hold up to abuse and passed my test which means it will work great for anyone else, mainly because I am not very gentle at all with anything I have, and that my 3 year old destroyer got ahold of it and it made it past him, I say buy it, and will probably buy another for my travelling pack

A little disappointed. Does not work with the CDRW or the 1.44 floppy I pulled from a Dell Inspiron 8200 laptop. None of the included connectors work with these components. I should point out that it did have connectors that worked with the hard drive I pulled from the Dell Inspiron 8200 laptop. However if you have a older or newer desk top components then all the connectors supplied work and fit as they should. Otherwise the kit is well make and includes several connectors.

Wish I had this year's ago. Does exactly what it's suppose to. Took it out of the box, hooked it up and Bingo, worked the very first time. Good for copying, cloning, formatting, partitioning, etc. It sure will save me lots of time. Good quality product, cables are very adequate length and connectors fit tight. I would highly recommend this product. Good price too!

I thought the value for the product was good. Shipping was timely. (not fast but not slow, it came when they said it would). I like the number of options for types of harddrives you can connect and it works as I expected. So overall I am very satisfied with this. It did what I wanted for a price I thought was far. I would recommend definitely recommend this product.

I had a motherboard go out and this little device helped me right out. Got all my info back and was very pleased. You can use it for just about anything that deals with a cable in your computer.

Never could get it to recognize a laptop EIDE drive. Even tried some internet suggestions on jumpers -- but no avail. Can't find much support on the company website either (is this discontinued or something). Haven't tried it on regular EIDE or SATA drives; but I did not need it for that. Ended up getting a laptop EIDE to regular EIDE adapter that works great. Despite what the box says, there are no useful instructions on how to hook this up. Guess they figure if you are buying this, you must not need directions.

no installation needed, plug-n-play setup. even work on and reads old and partially damaged HDs as if they are external HDs. best part is you dont need to encase the HDs either

I have only had a chance to use this device on one hard drive so far. I had a laptop with a corrupt OS and a bad AC adapter and could not do much as a standalone device. After removing the drive and connecting to a desktop, Windows XP installed the device immediately as an external USB drive and I was able to run full diagnostics and repairs on it.

When using this for an ide drive the power cord was too close to the built in usb cable so it was as tight as you can get without bending the usb cable off. This item did not work from the start. Never was able to read any ide drive I hooked up to it. The included sata cable is much shorter than the picture shows. Don't know if I should try it with any other drive since the main reason I bought it was for the ide function. Should contact TD and get an RMA soon or just throw it in the trash.

After transferring old files from my stack of old IDE drives and reformatting it I've used it to load XP from a loose CD ROM to my netbook (with no CD) I'm very satisfied with its versatility especially with the provided own power supply which accepts 110-220 V. Brought it with me for a family visit in Europe and my son in law claimed it. So will need to order another one.

this item ran great. For the first three times I used it. Then it stopped working after teh hard rive was attached and i was cpying some files. Then it refuse to initialize comms with SATA drives. then it stopped working with IDE drives. I would have expected it to work much longer.

This product worked right out of the box. I can easily check HDDs of every flavor, right from my laptop or desktop USB. This is the most valuable tool in my technician's toolkit. Highlt recommended.

If like me you have a variety of hard drives, IDE and SATA, lying around this is a great device for rapidly finding out what is on them and using them however you want to without having to install the drives in a computer or external case. Highly recommended.

Tried it with SATA and IDE hard drives 3.5 and 2.5 worked perfect. I also tried with an internal DVD writer and it worked perfect creating DVD's and using LightScribe.

It is just what it says it is and it works on every hard drive that I have tried so far. It was really amazing after I read the instructions and got it to work for the first time hahaha after that just what I had hoped. My best buddy and my neighbor are singing it's praises. My neighbors mom is bying one for herself.

I bought this product about a year ago. I recently started to use it excessively to back up data onto a hard drive in the past couple of months. My power supply gave out on me, more than likely from unplugging it so much. There is no on and off switch on this product and I'm guessing it was spiking everytime I unplugged it. I put a voltmeter on it to check it and it's a goner. The fuse inside was still good and nothing I can visibly that is blown. I am going to buy a new one but, just wanted to recommend connecting this product to a power strip with an on and off switch so, you don't ruin the Sabrent power supply.
