The adapter has worked with no flaws for SATA drives. I have not tried IDE drives yet, but I don't forsee any problems. The adapter is self-explanatory and easy-to-use.

Product works well for retrieving data off of old drives. Just make sure to plug the power into the drive before connecting the USB cable to your computer.

The instructions and diagrams to connect this device was very bad. Had to figure it out myself and then I could not get it to work on my hard drive. Took it to IT guys at work and they said I had it connected correctly but could not get it to work on my hard drive. They finally put my hard drive into an old laptop and copied the contents to a CD.

I really needed to transfer data from a hard drive to another system, and this made it very easy!

Trying to restore files from an old SATA hard drive became a snap with this gizmo. In fact I've left it hooked up to use as a scratch disk. (It was originally replaced because it, supposedly, was in danger of failing.) I have a few other old hard drives lying about that, at the very least, I can scrub clean now. Whenever I've used this site it has always been a pleasure.

This is a great product, but the power supply blows if connected to a frozen hard drive. It needs some sort of replaceable fuse.

This works well and is a happy edition to my toolkit. But be forewarned; it feels kind of cheap and the plastic adapters snap easily. My SATA power adapter broke on its first use but only the plastic cover; it still works.

This is something I was meaning to buy for awhile, if you work on computers, a definite must have, I used it to recover files on 2 old IDE drives and it was easy to use.

Had to gain access to a sata drive from a system that crashed and I had no sata ready systems to use. instant access. The only glitch I had was gaining authorization to the files, had to take take ownership of the drive to access files, but that had nothing to do with this hardware, just a Windows issue.

Works and saves a lot of time when working with internal drives from an unusable system. Power adapter cable could be a lot better but is usable. For the price I think it's worth it,

This kit seems the best deal of the cables - more possible uses with multiple drives. Others don't all have the power adapter... Worked great to recover an old drive when the laptop didn't start up any more.
