Worked great right out of the box, intuitive barely had to look at the instructions. Coupled with WinXP enable file XFR from both 3.5 & 5.25 HDs regardless of previous OS. It even ran my old 5.25 floppy drive... but alas the old 5.25 disc could only hold data for so long.

I bought this adapter to solve a problem that I have. I have a P-I laptop with a none-working removable CD drive. I can format and load files from a floppy using DOS but that's it. I tried using a number of DOS drivers in an attempt to read an external USB CDRW drive with no success. So I pulled the hard drive and used the adapter to copy Windows installation CD from another computer. After re-installing the hard drive, I was able to get the computer up and running again. Glad I found this adapter.

I use it to test various devices and this has most of the features I need to get-r-done. I would like to have the power adapter all in one device in lieu of two seperate components. Perhaps they could not make it work like that, I do not know.

i have used this product not for almost a year, and it works great. only issuse is that it doent like to work with SATA Drives. it will read them but it takes some time to get them to work. on the other side, IDE works without a hich. Hot swapable works great as well. A must have if your in the reoair business.

Bought this adaptor to recover data files from older laptop with issues (needs a fresh install). Also have some older drives with saved data (desktops). Using this adaptor tool right out of the box was a snap. Easy Recovery was a success!

I always had to keep a test computer around to pull info off the Hard drives before i wiped them clean.''Until Now'' This thing works great!!!!!! Just plug it in and go. I use WinXP-Pro and it picks up the drives right away. Sata or Ide does'nt matter. For any one who does a little PC work like i do, I would Highly recomend this product !!!!! And for only $20 you cant beat it.

Works just as it should. Often gets borrowed by IT staff at work because it handles more drives types and configurations than the adapters bought for them to use servicing a wide variety of platforms.

I just seen one review saying it wont do his ide drives. Not sure what he is doing wrong cause I have thrown everything at it and it works perfectly for me. I have used this troubleshooting peoples drives. I just pull their drives, Plug it into this device and wala! no probs at all.

I bought this mainly to try to re-use a couple of my IDE drives from my old PC. I figured it would also be useful for any SATA drives that I might need to troubleshoot in the future. Unfortunately, I could not access either of my older IDE drives. I did test it with a new SATA drive, and it worked.

I use this cable for transferring data from internal hard drives to an external storage drive. Fast and efficient. Plan to use for Ghosting clients hard drive to external storage drive as back-up.

Transfer, re-use and recycle older drives PATA and SATA with this useful accessory. All the bits and pieces you need to make use of uncased drives and DVD-CD Rom drives. I used it to load programs into my Netbook. Worked well but of course you do have cables running here and there whilst you do so - be sure to have a large clear space on your desk!

This is a must have tool for any computer technician! Works great with all kinds of drives and the external power source is awesome. It's so nice to be able to eliminate the need to mount an internal drive into a machine to work on it!

This set of cables makes it so easy to work with drives since there are no enclosure cases to have to deal with. Often times drives do not fit into enclosures properly and will not operate. With these cables, it was plug and go. A great value for the money
