I have been a technician for 11 years, and remember having headaches trying to get people's data off of a failed HDD. This product makes life so much easier. Thanks TigerDirect!!! |

poor instructions
Comment:
I give it three stars because it took me too long to figure out that it wouldn't work with my (removed) laptop HDD unless I didn't use the power adapter. It only works using power from the USB port. That makes it a lot simpler anyway so that's good but a question sent to Sabrent Tech is still unanswered. OK unit but poor instructions and poor support. |

Best Product For The Price!
Comment:
I had mistakenly purchased a DVD RW SATA which was not compatible with my computer's IDE connectors. Rather than pay the return shipping price for a replacement, I decided to buy this product to connect to the computer's USB port and use the drive as an external. 5 minutes to hook it up and the Plug and Play added the drive immediately. Works perfectly! Just be sure to connect the power before plugging in the USB to allow the system to recognize the new device. |

it works fine
Comment:
this is very simple to install. Insert and load drivers.... that's all. I was disappointed only by the spedd of my new sata drive. I was hoping I would see a noticeable difference in speed between that and my ide drives. |

Good Product
Comment:
The product works great for the price. Had a problem with a Hitachi hard drive, but Western Digitial drives work without a hitch. |

It works but can be difficult.
Comment:
Upon receipt of the adapter I tried to plug a drive into it and found that it is difficult to line up the pins with the wholes and that the adapter has difficulty getting some drives to power up. The instruction sheet is useless. |

I work in a non-profit education system and this tool is great for all of our older equipment. It allows me to take my netbook, image a drive and get it going with little effort. Product to me is well worth the money. |

super simple
Comment:
very easy to use. it is great to be able to just plug in cables and go. you do not have to worry about getting it in and out of an enclosure. however, becasue of that, i would not use it for a drive i wanted to leave on long term. but it makes a quick easy fix to access data. |

Being in the IT industry for years, I've found this tool invaluable at work. I bought this one for home use. It comes in handy for so many reasons. Both SATA & EIDE capable. Good value, works great! |

A must have when going from an IDE to SATA
Comment:
I have several IDE drives from my old computer. Works as advertised. My new computer has vista. Chose this item because I saw others that had problem using vista. I am using my old IDE drives for backing up data. The only thing bad I notice, is the drive seems to spin constantly whether being written-read or not, hasn't been a problem though. Haven't used the SATA feature. |

Just perfect
Comment:
Works fine with IDE and SATA drive (just remember to set the drive as master!) |
I use this particular device because of the various power interchanges as well as it's ability to accommodate SATA and IDE. If you're a tech, you need one. This is my second one and I am getting a third to keep in reserve.
