Simple and easy
Comment:
I had a desk top computer that died but I had 2 hard drives of information (mainly photos and MP3s) which I needed to retrieve. I got this product, connected it up and my new desk top recognized them like an external USB drive with no issues. This was the most value priced and easiest product to use !! |

Great to have just in case
Comment:
I wish i got one sooner. I was able to pull files from a hard drive that was over 12 years old. I have a old cd rom that i was able to connect to my Dell Netbook. I was able to boot off a cd rom with no issues using this cable. That will save me from having to buy a external cd-rom drive. Since i have 2 laptops, and one netbook, it will make it easier to recover data from 3.5 hardrives as well as laptop harddrives, the only small issue is that on that old cd-rom drive, the power connector is up against the data connector, and makes for a tight fit. Still in yet, i would still buy one again, it all comes in a small box that is easy to repack and put away for safe keeping. worked right way with XP or Vista. If the disk is not formatted, Just right click My Computer, then Manage, then Disk Manage. You should see the hard drive, right click that drive then click Initialize. From there, you can format or whatever. You should then see it in My Computer. |

A must have tool
Comment:
I wish I have come across this device years ago. In seconds you can swap out hard drives or dvd drives for testing or data transfer without tearing the system apart. A must have tool for anyone who opens up the computer to build or repair. |

A Must Have Data Saver
Comment:
Great product, I wish I would have bought one of these a long time ago. A friends computer windows config file was corrupted and he could not log into windows, I was able to get to and save all of his important files and pictures he had on it before reinstalling windows. Worked great and had no problems. I know of a lot of people that would have gladly paid $20.00 to get there old data saved. |

Very Good Product
Comment:
The product was as described. The only suggestion would be to make the directions clearer, but it performed as advertized and allowed me to copy information from the hard drive of the dead computer to the new computer. |

Need to Recover Old Files on Old Disk Drives??
Comment:
DO YOU HAVE FIOLES ON OLD DISKS THAT YOU WANT TO RECOVER; LIKE PICTURES????I love this thing. I was going to pay a shop to retrive all of the informaion from my old computers that self destructed over the years. I saw this and although I was skeptiacal I bought it. I hooked it up to one of the old IDE hard drives, plugged it into the USB port and PRESTO!!!! the drive came right up on |

IDE & power plug issue
Comment:
Works as indicated. One problem is that the Adapter case interfers with the Power plug when using the IDE connector on some devices. I had to take an Xacto knife to the power connector to get it to install on a DVD drive. It would be fine for a IDE drive where the interface connector is not next to the power connector. Bottom line works on all my HDD's just fine but CD and DVD drives require shaving the power connector. |

I am presently using it for a 320g back up 2.5'' hard drive. Pros: power adapter green power light, IDE&SATA adapter green busy and SATA light and red USB light. Cons: SATA cable loosens if you move it |
