Item functions as described. Transfer rate is great! No probs with the power provide. None. I really like how quick folks are to bash a product simply because of its cost or "It feels cheep". What do you expect its a easy tool to make life for a tech easy. Also just before you blame the item for not operating right, you need to go back to Pc 101 and figure out the order in which the devices start out up in a Computer when powered on.

Inexpensive, good little device. Nothing feels "cheap" about it. SATA and SATA power cables are pretty short (maybe 6") but the USB cable is lengthy sufficient to use just fine. The included user's guide is incorrect, at least for Mac systems. To mount a SATA drive on Mac OS X 10.5, you need to plug in power Initially, and then the USB connection. If you go the other way about, you'll never get a green light and the drive will by no means mount.

Works on IDE drives if the molex adapter will squeeze next to the adapter itself. (most of the time it doesn't) Instantly fried my SATA drive. There is an actual mound of carbon exactly where the tiny resistor utilised to be on the 12v input lead coming off the SATA power connector on the drives circuit board. I now have to purchase an identical HDD as my SATA drive to replace the fried board.

None Was not functional appropriate out of the box. Would not enumerate on any PC (tried 3). Also tried to access 3 distinct IDE devices. It actually managed to corrupt 1 of the drives and I had to invest โ to recover the files. Now I have to spend a lot more funds in shipping to return a defective product.....

This factor is definitely easy to use, and supports each kind of challenging drive that someone would commonly have. I have utilised it dozens of times with no issues on a variety of computers. I wish the power supply had a switch on it, as I often worry about just plugging it straight into a challenging drive, but I've never had a problem so I guess it's just me worrying. Took it with me on a deployment to Afghanistan and saved information off of very a couple of broken laptops. I guess this cable "supports the troops". Only thing I actually regret about buying this is that I can't uncover mine and I'll have to get yet another one!

Super basic. Don't know why I didn't think of obtaining 1 sooner. Extremely versatile. Just copied information off a sata laptop hard drive from a laptop whose mother board is fried. None. Does what it is advertised to do. This is going to come in so handy. At present, difficult drives in computers that have crashed, to retrieve the data I connect the drive to a different PC. This will be less difficult for that, too.

Works just fine. The LED indicator lights are a massive plus. Using this cable for a SATA drive installed in an IDE enclosure. As usual, NewEgg's quick shipping is unmatched. If the manual doesn't support, search the Web for a small additional clarification. In my case, a little prevalent sense was all that was required to connect the device appropriately. A small on the pricey side but the device works just as advertised.

I've bought 2, and both function wonderful, and so do the included AC adapters. Works even with quite old difficult disks. About the similar information transfer rates as employing the disks internally. I've successfully applied it with disks down to 1.4 GB (laptop disk from ). Powers two.five" laptop disks from USB. Requires no drivers - it's a typical USB mass storage device. Sturdy construction, as opposed to other USB-IDE cables I've utilised. AC adapter uses normal PC energy cord for mains connection, accepts all worldwide voltages 鲤-240 V, 50ኘ Hz). I'd like if the ƒ foot) cord from the adapter to the molex plug had been longer. They could quickly make up for the added weight by shipping it with a shorter wall-to-adapter cord, due to the fact that would be very easily replaceable if you want a longer 1. Doesn't function with iomega Zip drive -- didn't expect it to. Also doesn't function with ancient 250 MB challenging disks. I've utilized it with several new and old IDE challenging disks, CD/DVD-ROM/RW drives, and IDE two.5" laptop hard disks. I've utilised it a small with a laptop SATA drive, but haven't tested with other SATA drives.

Does everything as advertised. I have tried many ata and sata two.five" laptop drives. I have attempted a couple ata and sata three.5" difficult drives as effectively. I even utilized it on a ata cdrom with no issues. Works so properly, I just wish I never purchased an external dvd rom for my netbook. I can just use a standard old rom and in the end it works precisely the very same. Newegg five-7 day egg saver shipping is terrible. Took me 9 company days to get it. Basically two weeks. Quit being inexpensive Newegg and just give us the common three day UPS like all your other items over 1 pound.

Replaces a stack of janky HDD enclosures of a variety of size and functionality. Fits inside a toolbox nicely. Not built to survive a total nuclear holocaust. Could have utilized a little hardcase or one thing to hold all the bits. I can't emphasize enough how nice it is to have a single tool to do the job of many. Who cares if it's not built for everyday field deployment - at 20.00 you can afford to replace it when a year and still beat out the cost of all the equipment it replaces. Just about every time I use it, individuals wonder what it is and are impressed with how fast the transition is from 'HDD dead in their machine' to 'HDD attached and browsing' on my machine. I use mine in conjunction with a Kingwin SAC-04 integrated SATA/Power cable; just less difficult that way.
