Great Product and Simple to Use
Comment:
I had a hard drive (primary) that windows crapped out on (go figure) and I had no way to get to my files that I needed. This device allowed me to get everything off of both my SATA and IDE drives so I could reload windows without missing my old stuff. No problems at all - hooked it up and it worked like an old champ. The instructions aren't super clear, but I'm pretty sure a monkey could figure this out without instructions. :)

Works good, if you've got the right drive.
Comment:
Unfortunately I was trying to troubleshoot/copy a friend's HD from his fried desktop. He had a E-machine or something another, with a weird partition (restore partition as FAT32, then the rest as NTFS). Needless to say, that all didn't work out so good, but it did manage to connect eventually. Very handy, although I wish the connector was so bulky, makes it a little hard to connect to a drive already mounted in a case. Cables couldn've been a little longer too, since the main purpose is probably for troubleshooting/rescueing HDs. I still show it off to my other nerdy friends.

Outstanding Product
Comment:
purchased this product for helping friends and family with data migration and backing up important data. i saw the price and couldn't pass it up! when i got it i wasn't sure of its capabilities, and was amazed to find that it works with any IDE and SATA drives both full size and laptop. so far i have not ran into any drive that it does not work with other than drives that i had a suspicion didn't work to begin with. all in all i am very satisfied with this. i would have to say if you use multiple drives but never at the same time, or are constantly helping others with retrieving data this would be one of the best investments for you! hope you enjoy this product as much as i have!

Bought this product to try and retrieve data from crashed computer. Worked out of the box like a charm and got all the data I thought was lost. I have since used on both desktop and laptop hardrives and works equally as good on both IDE and SATA. Highly recommend this product.

Great Bang for the buck
Comment:
Nice unit to use for emergency access to laptop, sata and ide drives. Beats using the removable drive bays I have used to date. Easy change between all disk formats. Speed is satisfactory Make sure drive is powered on before inserting USB cable or you will have to eject device and redo it.

When you need it, nothing else will do!
Comment:
I am the family geek. When a cousin brought me his machine after "trying everything" himself, I had no option but to re-format his hard drive and start from scratch. Oh, and the scratch was on his "re-install" OEM disk. With this little tool and a new OEM disk, I had the machine up and running in an afternoon. Didn't even need to take the drive out of the machine!

haven't been able to use it yet
Comment:
the ide data connector is in such a weird position that i can't get any of my dvd drives to plug into it. the molex connected won't plug in when you have the ide connector plugged in. i haven't tried any hard drives with this yet. i wanted it for hook up to an external dvd drive. it should work fine for sata but be careful with ide cuz it might not fit.

Great product, recently needed this and creepy enough the same day it was on the tigerdirect flyer. Worked like a champ, I was able to pull everything I needed right off the HD like it was suppose to be an external. So my question is Tigerdirect, are you watching me??

Ordered April 29, delivery 5 May (delayed one day due to weather). Plugged in the drive from my dead laptop, plugged the USB into the new laptop, the old drive showed up immediately as F: drive. This item pays for itself the first time you have to use it. Can't wait to get out the drives from my old computers and retrieve what hadn't been backed up. Most highly recommended.

This product is awe-some for the money. I needed this to hookup an external Blu-ray re-writer to my laptop or any other computer I wish. Works flawlessly. Also good if I want to hookup any other type of drive.

Comment:
this unit is not a good idea for any system builder, I bout one think it was just what i needed to remove 80GBs of music off of an old drive. Needless to say the power unit it came with fried my PCB and now my harddrive is a 80Gb paperweight. The usb adapter works fine, but the power unit dosent kill power when switched off, it only kills the +5 vold power that tells the drive it is on. If you have and need to use this unit, power yout drive from your PSU. Dont learn the hard way.

Very vesatile with connecting both pata & sata laptop & desktop drives via usb. Originally I used to get data from my old drive, but now I mostly use it when working on other people's drives especially when removing viruses. The only thing/issue I noticed is that in one of the holes for black molex power plug, there is a small metallic wrap that tends to bend if the pin from the the sata pwr adapter is slightly off.

Take it out of the box. Hook up to the old drive. Plug into a USB port, it shows up as another drive. How much easier do you want it? Copy and paste, or drag and drop. Recover or delete files, use for storage, whatever you can do with a second installed drive. And the price is right. I have several older drives, a couple 10+ years old. Any that would power up would work with this gadget.

Works perfect. I pulled the hard drive out of my crashed desktop and hooked up the cables to it and my laptop. It was as easy as drag and drop all my files, music, and photos. Cheap price too.

This device is amazing! SATA drives run faster with this than in an external enclosure. Some people said that it overheats, but iv had it on for many hours and it just gets a little warm, nothing concerning. Also if you get another molex/SATA cable( or Y adapter) you can run a SATA and IDE drive at the same time but it goes a little slower.

Item works great use to watch movies on ps3 and xbox360. The only problem I have is I bought a new hard drive that uses sata and figured from the pic of the item that i could just use the sata cable it comes with in my pc but you cant, its only 3 inches so you would have to have it right on the board.

Folks, you get what you pay for. Here are a few observations from an Industry Pro. Read/Write errors. Drive is defective, but more likely, you are not getting enough power to make the device operate correctly. ''Fried Drives'' after hooking them up? Make sure you plug the power plug correctly, or more likely, the factory did not CROSS the wires and mis-wire them! Look in Device manager, this comes up as ''Tiger Jet''. Hmmm, Sabrent..... Tiger Jet. Perhaps this is an in-house brand? The web site is non-existent for support (see above). The 1 page manual is barely written in proper English. Will not read most smaller legacy drives under 2GB. Will also not read a drive if you just unplugged another one and then hook up a 2nd drive. Both conditions bring up USB Drive. Nothing else, and won't ''read'' the drive to fdisk, or format it. Overall? Not a bad choice if you will use it occasionaly. Otherwise, seek a higher priced unit.
