works just fine
Comment:
Openned the box, connected the disk (WD-Caviar 320G eide). Nothing happened. Was scared. But looked at the logic connector, I had put it on the disk upside down. Did it right, the copy is currently running at 6MB/sec.

Every Tech needs this!
Comment:
There is no longer any harddrive that you can't get data from. This converter will do anything you need whether it is a hard drive or a dvd burner. I've used it quite a few times already saving a desktop. This comes with everything you need including all cables and power converters. Definitely worth the buy no matter what the need.

Perfect Geek Hardware Tool
Comment:
I am a computer technician for over 20 years. I have lots of trouble tools that I work day-in and day-out. But this tool I find very vaulable in my line of work. Whether I am working on a computer system that is 15 years old or the state-of-the-art computer that just came out. I fine this tool very easy to work with either in Linux or Windows.

Bang for your buck.
Comment:
I am absolutely impressed with this item. For $20 I was able to save thousands of dollars and thousands of hours worth of work I thought I had lost. It's very easy to use. Just plug the power source into any available outlet, connect the adapter, plug the USB cord into your computer and your computer will recognize it as though it were a flash drive you just pulled off of your key chain. The adapters have no issues, however your OS might need you to change the ownership of the device you're trying to rescue. This step is easy and only takes a couple of clicks. I would highly recommend this product to anyone looking to save thought to be lost memories and money. FYI: Ensure your Anti-virus is up to date to catch any viruses trying to leap from your old device to your computer.

Value Priced, works as advertised
Comment:
Product arrived before the scheduled delivery date, worked out of the box with several hard drives. I made sure to plug the drive to the cable before inserting the USB into any machine. With that, I noticed no connection issues. Overall - very pleased with the product.

Wow! This thing rocks!
Comment:
I've used three other brands of these USB to hard drive adapters, and this performs as well as much more expensive ones! This gadget is simple to use and worked out of the box with Linux, Windows XP and Windows Vista. (I'll try it on the Mac next -) If it came with male-to-female IDE cables it would be perfect! (I worry about breaking the attached headers.) Once again, this site comes through.

hands down best

Never have a problem with this thing. Cool thing is, our office bought a bunch of adapters of another brand. the fail alot and always require using the external power supply no matter what kind of drive. I usually always just carry the basic dongle without all the other pieces. Lighten's my load, and I always have to loan it to the other guys who got the free junkie one from work. =)

Worthwhile
Comment:
Works like a charm. Only disappointment I encountered was that the SATA Cable was much shorter than seen on advertised page. The SATA Cable is less than 7 inches in length... much too short to use this one component of this kit "less than expected as versatile" if you wish at some later date also to use it to install your Hard Drive as a internal drive SATA cable. Other than that this package is really a Good Value for intended use as a external multi-storage device only.

Worth the price I paid for it.

Worked just like it should. I haven't had any problems with it so far. I have several of these Sabrent IDE/USB adapters and the only problems were that two of the cheap power supply bricks were faulty and didn't work, but I took them apart and soldered the bad connections like they should have been when made, they now work ok.

Used to build and repair compters, and have so many old hard drives that I want to throw away, was great to be able to check them out. Also have a server that uses sata, and have needed something like this before.
